man it was fun watching the Bears actually be the team having a decent quarterback.

The Kenny Williams job approval/disapproval poll
The poll choices are awful FWIW. There is absolutely no recognition for the people who believe that Kenny did his job well and it was the players that failed. I think we need a wsf101 poster approval poll, because these haven't been very good so far.

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 08:15 AM) Exactly! And what greater threat to liberty is health? You accept a government run police department to keep you safe from criminals, but a government run department to keep you safe from illness is a threat to your freedoms and liberty? Exactly. So why would you support the governmentally organized destruction of our medical system?

2009 AL Central Thread
QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) you know the Baseball Gods are smiling down on your team today when Mike Redmond hits a triple http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=290830109 Paul Konerko had a triple in Boston, and I'd hardly say the baseball gods are doing us any favors

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 07:59 AM) How is assuring all American adequate health care an erosion of your freedom? You do not have a choice in what police department patrols your street. You do not have a choice in what government agency inspects the food you eat or establishes standards for the car you drive. Most Americans do not have a choice in the water that is piped to their homes or the sanitation service to remove the waste. There are certain infrastructures that we have as Americans that are shared. True, it is in the eye of the beholder. "Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."

Edward Kennedy dies at 77
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 08:08 AM) Its news to me - perhaps you could substantiate it for us. I just googled it... Is Forbes good enough? http://www.forbes.com/2009/08/27/ted-kenne...r-robinson.html

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 07:42 AM) I love your attempt at labeling people that want to ensure that everyone has health insurance. It actually has a positive connotation. To you it is a positive. To others preventing someone who isn't legally allowed to hold the office of the President is a positive thing. Its all in the eye of the beholder. To me the continued erosions of our freedoms aren't too positive.

Was Trading Brandon Allen a Mistake?
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 10:28 AM) I think the DBacks beat writer said differently. I read something that said Allen was their 2010 guy at 1B off MLB.com so I imagine that's true. Connor Jackson has been their best LF when healthy so I think he'll return to that role. Byrnes and Chris Young should split time at CF/4th OF next season. Chad Tracy will be gone too which will open up more time. Edited The scary thing is that someone out there could be taking what Joe Cowley writes and applying it as fact for the sox plans.

Healthcare reform
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) My gawd that's BS. HB 3200 is where a lot of this comes from. So EVERY ARGUEMENT against health care is BS because no one knows what they want to do yet? That's mighty f***ing arrogant of you to then leap to then everyone (against this) is "fear mongering". When you subsidize "public option" and set pricing, it will kill the private industry. It just will. Which Obama himself admits that is what he wants. Typical strategy from the healthers. It is much easier to label and name call.

The Republican Thread
If they aren't going to include illegals in their plans, Democrats need to quit lying to America and including them in the counts of the "uninsured".

So much for Randy Williams being a better option than anyone else... Ugh. I guess why not run him out there.

Joe Crede Possibly Retiring
Its too bad the kids back never held up. He really could have put up the offensive numbers to get him the recognition he deserved.

It Just Got Worse
Mitchell is years away at best. He soooo doesn't matter right now. Peavy is mattering less and less with each passing day.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 10:49 PM) I am sure there will be changes this off season There have been changes every year, that is a pretty safe assumption.- Contreras to start again?
Jose against the Yankees is just scary. Hopefully Ozzie uses up all 110 pitches and protects the pen as much as he can.- Financial News
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 11:07 PM) Here's a version that I can find tonight. Um, this is a product of Democratic intervention to stop foreclosures. All of the fees and interest keep accruing. Instead of a foreclosure taking place, the house keeps accruing interest and latel payments. Are they just supposed to completely stop everything when someone stops paying?- The Republican Thread

QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) Good point. Is Torres available, or was he sent back down? Both Torres and Hudson are supposed to be on schedule and available to pitch for the Sox on Saturday. It doesn't sound like they really want to do that though.- The Republican Thread

QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) Someone who fails to prove his own point asking someone to prove his. Kind of cute. Sadly, I don't have the time to backtrack records of hitters in history under Walker. For all I know you're correct and I would admit it. All I'm saying is that if the hitters being dumbfounded at the plate is an epidemic for YEARS, isn't the hitting coach somewhat to blame? Why the f*** do we even have a hitting coach, then? Except even the last part of your post isn't true for the most part over his six years here. There have been some great years had here during Walkers time.- Alphabetical Conversation Thread
