  1. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 11:34 PM) Exactly the type of lazy, ignorant post I'm talking about. Looking for any way to try to bash an actually insightful post with no effort whatsoever. I'm not saying he's preaching that. I'm not gonna find a video of it. But I would love to hear the theories of those opposing me of why this type of laziness and lack of IQ at the plate is an epidemic with this team. I'm sure ALL of our hitters are just stupid. And it's been like this for years. Seriously, I'm not saying it has to be all Walker's fault... but do some thinking, people. If our hitters are simply dead at the plate almost all season every year, how is the hitting coach not to blame at all? So many of you defend each and every bit of the coaching staff that you seem to forget that they have purposes on this team. Some of you are a real headache to try and have a logical discussion with. Yeah, you missed the point totally, not that it is a real surprise. You call people lazy, yet you repeat the same old line over and over, which has been proven an urban legend. I asked you to prove something, and you gave me anecdotal evidence. I'd start looking in the mirror before you keep calling people lazy and ignorant.

Two is normal. How many White Sox division winners have you seen?
  3. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) lol right I guess that's the only picture Microsoft has of some business people sitting at a table Well it was the only one that didn't involve the table being cleaned...
  4. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) Probably a lot of them. BS? Then why does it seem our most veteran hitters seem to always attempt to knock the ball out of park rather than string hits together? Why does this offense CONTINUOUSLY fail to score runners with as little as 0 outs (a considerable amount of time we have guys at 2nd and 3rd no outs and CANNOT score). I'm sure you'll tell me it's entirely the players' doing. Bulls***. It's been like this for years now and it's getting old. SOMEONE needs to get this through to these players; apparently Walker isn't doing it. It's not like I'm making this s*** up. I do not understand this common mentality on this board with people arguing around an argument. So basically you are convinced Walker is the best possible hitting coach we could have right now, correct? I don't know why I even bother. Always lazy excuses; never an intelligent, thought-provoking argument. Lazy, like "lift and pull" Go ahead and provide a link or video with Walker actually preaching that.
  5. Man is it nice to see the offense make the pitching irrelevant.
  6. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:07 PM) nor is picking out the bad. History makes me a pessimist. If you can pick out some historical president for sustained stock market rallies in these sorts of economic conditions, I'd love to hear them.
  7. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) Oh sorry, but that was because you wanted a balcony cabin on the Staten Island Ferry instead. That's all right. I got the Amtrak tour to the Bahamas instead.
  8. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) Cowley is one of the best baseball writers out there. Just ask him...
  9. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) I just wanna know how the hell did you have that picture so handy to post it within seconds of me making this thread. Its a self portrait... You'd know that if you had shown up to the softball game, punk. Happy Birthday SF!!!
  10. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) its a different world my friend. listen all we hear everyday is how "the end of the world" is coming. whether its deficits, unemployment, foreclosures, etc. The positive or better than expected news tends to get lost in the crowd. Just trying to give an equal sounding board for the good with the bad. People can choose to believe what they want. That's just it. You can't separate out one thing or another. Economics is a total package. Picking out just the good isn't really an equal sounding board, its just being a fanboy.
  11. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 03:16 PM) 8th day in a row. Rally Monkey brought us from 82 down to 37 up. In the category of FWIW, the stock market rallied a whole 50% from the 1929 lows before selling off about 85%. (since you seem to have a particular interest in depression era economics and finance lately )
  12. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 02:28 PM) So who decides if the law suit is proper or not? How do you decide in advance that 99% of the Doctors would have run that test, or it truly is a waste? Yet this is exactly what will happen with governmental health care.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 08:44 AM) I'll pay my respects to a senator who fought on the right side of a lot of civil rights issues. Ted Kennedy, the man, was deeply flawed, and I won't blame some snide comments aimed at him. But, I'd rather have a flawed man, who killed someone, that was on the right side of civil and social justice, then Jesse Helms. And because when Jesse Helms died I said good riddance, I'm fine with the republicans here doing the same. Good post. Thanks for recognizing both sides of the coin.
  14. Dye might get more days off, but he isn't getting benched. The reason Swisher got benched is because he acted like an idiot on a day that Ozzie gave him off. Dye is a professional, and isn't going to show up his manager or other players.
  15. If Jermaine wanted to make a statement about this trade, he could have just done it with the bat, and I would have been much happier.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) Is it that hard to just take a new picture with 3 white people in it? That's just crazy talk. Where the hell are you going to find three white people in Poland?
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 01:02 PM) Well its already clear from his AAA stops that he still has some work to do in the minors so ya, I do think it would be a huge mistake and I don't have confidence in him kicking butt right now. Hudson has struggled at the highest minor league level with his command a bit and we are asking him to go face one of the best offensive teams in all of baseball (full of hitters with very good eyes) and put him into that. That is absolutely absurd. I don't care how strong and how poised someone is. It is the manager's job to put guys in a position to succeed and by starting Hudson you are doing nothing but putting him in a position to fail. I couldn't have said it any better myself.
  18. I would love to see Hudson, but the time isn't right for him. Heck I'd rather see them start DJ and then bring Hudson in as the long man.
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) Town hall meetings aren't a Constitutional right. Exactly.
  20. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) I'm sure they would be within 2 trillion dollars of estimates. If cash for clunkers is any hint, I wouldn't bet on it.
  21. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 12:11 PM) Nope, just dumb people. You never did answer me about the Vegas cruise
