  1. Like I said in that thread, unless a guy is bascially Bobby Jenks as a sure fire lockdown closer, that just doesn't make sense.
  2. The interstates are spotty to bad. There were shutdowns a few times last night. It has quit snowing, but it is blowing pretty badly. Take your time.
  3. There is a still a nice assortment of back end OFs for the Sox to pick from. We all knew it wasn't going to be a big spending winter anyway, so it isn't like the Sox being here is a big surprise.
  4. I mean there is enough for Sox fans to be upset about, we don't need to invent things to get mad about.
  5. But think of poor Steve Cohen and the other $314 million he still has to pay for.
  6. They also have a lot of interesting pitching in their top 10 to 15.
  7. I am sure this is trash like the rest of them, but you are damned right that the Sox should be looking for the moon from the Mets. Asking for top guys in blocked positions is actually a pretty smart strategy to try to get something done too.
  8. You are the one who made the initial connection between the two things.
  9. I know many don't, but I tune in for Jason and Walton. It is spectacular once or twice a year.
  10. Man I loved Hawk, but once his sight went, it was time. He just became a caricature of himself.
  11. I would LOVE the Sox to pair Jason with pretty much anyone else but Steve Stone. Having listened to Jason doing tons of other baseball, basketball, and football games I cannot think of a single instance where I thought they were worse than the Jason/Steve combo. They don't even have the charming oddity combo like a Ed and DJ used to. You need a guy who is wanting to enjoy himself during the broadcast and Steve just isn't that guy. I think the best tribute I can pay to Jason is that he is able to sound good with pretty much anyone he sits down with, which I can tell you from experience is NOT easy. I won't put him on my Mt Rushmore of all time favorites, but he is a very good one.
  12. The MLB investigations aren't opinion, they are fact. Trevor Bauers suspension, and Daryl Boston's lack there of aren't opinion, they are fact. My opinion is I want neither around my team or anyone important to me.
  13. You'd have to be talking about a pretty sure fire reliever to consider it.
  14. Some times I wonder if people really understand how bad the typical MLB announcers are around this sport.
  15. I really think they will have to do so, otherwise the pressure on the rest of the organization's personel and players getting hounded with questions around Bauer will be too much. Think of all of the other players getting the TLR questions when TLR disappeared, except times a 100. If you sign Bauer, you will have to get your ass kicked publicly and must have him and the organization be able to publicly justify this signing, which is exactly why I think no one will do it.
  16. Whoever signs Bauer is going to have to do a press conference, and probably many of them. You might even have a better chance at this if you had someone who was more willing to show any amount of contrition or even that they learned a lesson in all of this. But the victim blaming attitude here is going to make it nearly impossible for a team to sell Bauer to its fanbase. These owners got rich by understanding risk and the like, and I just don't see the return and negative externalities of Trevor Bauer being worth it to MLB teams in this current form.
  17. This is a wonderful attempt at a whataboutism, but for the record, MLB suspended him for two years because of what they found in their investigation. I really hate Boston being included in the stories he was included it, but let's not pretend the background information for both is on the same level, nor was the level of what was turned up. But for the whatabout record, they could have fired Boston the day that story came out, and I would have been thrilled.
  18. They always have such an odd list. Vera at #10 with 4 pitchers ahead of him, especially Santos? The one that really jumps out is Ryan Burrowes at #14. That is an out of no where ranking.
