city love
QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) i'm pretty sure those are both the same building - see the sears tower behind both? The red building (Go Sox) is the CNA building. The other building (Sox Pride) is the Blue Cross Blue Shield building. They are two different buildings on different sides of Grant/Millenium Park.

Ultimate Rally Song
Those are some great stories about the origins of the song and the band. Everytime I hear it, I think that they are playing my happy song, because there is always something good going on when that song gets played.

White Sox Movies and Slide Shows
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) So, I read through the pages on this thread, and I don't see the answer to this question: does anyone know if/where I can download that opening reel they show on the scoreboard at The Cell during pre-game? The one with shots throughout history, set to music from Pirates of the Carribean? Just curious. If anyone knows where I can get that, I'd appreciate the info. Because of the royalties associated with the music, it is not available legally.

The Call From Ryno Perspective
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:58 AM) Wow, he jumped on the bandwagon early I'm kidding with the above posts. I'm just noticing how quickly we divide the idiots, the bandwagon jumpers, and the brilliant sports writers and commentators. There are no other categories and as soon as there is a positive article somewhere, like a bunch of lemmings, we rush over and take a look. People have opinions, there are intelligent opinions that picked the Angels. That thought the call was wrong, etc. Ah yes, Texsox the media relations specialist. So when is Hug a Columnist Day?

Profession Guilty Pleasure
QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) Radio. or Travel. or a political campaign. I've never been good at doing things I don't like. So I work in the my guilty pleasure industries. It's kinda nice. I am looking really hard at local politics. Basically if I can find some kind of a support base, I am running for school board. We'll see if it goes anywhere.

Location, location, location
I know a while back (last year sometime I believe) I started a thread to see where people were from on Soxtalk. It was interesting to see from how far around the country and world that had people become Sox fans. I think last time we asked this, we covered about 30 states and about half a dozen countries around the world. But I think we have added about 1000 new members since then, and I am curious how much more coverage we have now. If you would like, please share where you live, and if it is a long way away from Chicago, what made you a Sox fan, and what brought you to Soxtalk.

A Step Back
And the thing is, you never know what the future will bring, so be sure to enjoy it NOW! Go-Go you White Sox, Chicago (and much of the world) is proud of you!

Go-Go White Sox
QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) At this time, I'd like to thank you all for the kind, heartwarming responses to my opinion of this song. And once again, MANY THANKS for making Soxtalk a place where we, as Sox fans, can discuss, debate, express our opinions and beliefs, and most importantly, AGREE TO DISAGREE on so many diverse and wide-ranging topics. It's this kind of warm friendly, FAMILY atmosphere that makes soxtalk.com my "go-to site" for all things White Sox AND BEYOND....... ....and in closing, I'd like to add...... :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger If Critic makes a post on Soxtalk, and no one cares, does he really make a post?

World Series Tickets go onsale Tues
QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Ok now with these numbers, how would we get the tickets? Would you need to go to the ticketmaster in the listed city, or can you still pick them up at the box office at comiskey? You'd have to call and find out, like I said earlier.

World Series Tickets go onsale Tues
QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) really? i just looked on ebay and it seemed like no one else was doing that. i think i'm just going to wait and see what i get, then see what happens from there. It was something I thought of, I don't know if anyone else was thinking that far ahead or not to be honest. It would be a much easier transaction, because you never even have to buy the tickets, you are just selling your right to purchase tickets this weekend. It would be a pure profit deal.

You're the GM: White Sox edition
QUOTE(Randar68 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) BTW, it is this type of reasoning that I used to determine it would be economically feasible to acquire a Thome/Delgado/Helton/Giles in addition to Furcal and resigning Pauly... Again, wouldn't an offseason like that simply electrify this city? This team is primed for a huge bounce in Chicago. Regardless of if they win the ALCS or not, they have a big boost coming in the payroll department. If they make a big named spash in the off season, in addition to their 2005 success, they could be in excellent shape to take back Chicago from the Cubs.

You're the GM: White Sox edition
QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Nice chart. Thanks for the back up. Also I believe the dollar for dollar amounts correlate even closer than the percentages do. The previous year's profit/loss in total dollars, is almost almost identical to the next years payroll increase/decrease.

World Series Tickets go onsale Tues
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) Gracias, don't you think that they should all be selling them since it's through ticketmaster? Some events are region restricted, only certian outlets can sell the tickets. It is supposed to prevent scalping as what would a ticketmaster outlet in San Diego theoretically need with White Sox world series tickets? I know there are exceptions, but ticketbastard must think it works. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) Thx for the info. Are there states further away that might be selling them? I ask because with the Cardinals being in the mix, you will have their fans also hitting up the Midwest locations for tickets to games at the Cell. I have no idea which specific outlets will be selling. I put the closest ajoining states because if there are restrictions, I can't see any of these outlets being left out in the cold. Missouri might be selling tickets also, I would call their outlets and ask them on Tuesday morning if they will be selling them or not.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) I think im going to try a different approach, and try the phone. My dad did it for the ALCS, and it worked. To be honest I am going to try both. Plus I have 3 computers I can use here at work.

That was one of the many deafening songs that was sung at the top of everybody's lungs after the game last night. It is catching and an earworm to say the least. I have had it in my head ever since.
