  1. It is patently absurd. With any discipline at all, this is multi-generational wealth.
  2. That's just a really odd way of putting, almost as if giving it the even worse case scenario without context of other teams having free agents to replace as well. Take a team like the Dodgers who are losing around 20 WAR to FA without any turned down options and non-tenders. Apparently the Dodgers need 20 wins of improvement by this scale? Or the Yankees are in the same boat chasing about 20 WAR in free agents. They need 20 wins of improvment? Well, I am sure there is an alternate rationale to explain everyone else except the Sox away.
  3. The Sox need 100 wins to compete next year?
  4. This. You could instantly invest like $500 million of it, and still live off of the returns, even after blowing the last $100 million on absolute nonsense or something.
  5. Does he have a little brother?
  6. Apparently I should just let you debate yourself.
  7. The crazy thing is after payout and taxes I think is is like 700 million.
  8. I 100% agree and see it.
  9. For Garrett to get to 150 innings this year as you previously said, he need almost 100 more innings, not 40 or 50. The L is still yours.
  10. Go out and run a Ironman tomorrow and tell me about correlation to conditioning mattering again.
  11. The problem is Crochet has zero innings history going all of the way back to college. Even a guy like Kopech had thrown 120 innings in the minors. Garrett has none of that. EDIT: Severino's history has him over 190 innings twice. Garrett has never been over 65 innings, even in college. You will need something like two years before he could push out to even 150 innings, assuming no real injuries.
  12. If he is willing to pitch in the minors for a couple of years, sure. But if he wants to be in the majors, there is no real way.
  13. He needs to finish his own "hole filling" by reinserting his head in his rectum where it belongs.
  14. Nope. No reason to follow the Sox until at least next century.
  15. Fair chance he doesn't remember quitting.
  16. If nothing else he made Pedro's 1st job a lot easier by reducing expectations to near zero. Hell you have Sox fans themselves telling everyone how they can't possibly win anything no matter what.
  17. Until he got to LA, then it went back up 3.2 mph.
  18. Personally I think it is pretty clear that both sides spoke long ago about this situation, but maybe that is just me.
  19. Like I said, it would be really easy to control this narrative and put any speculation to bed, but of course a lack of answers would also fit with why no one wants to speak about this, so on it goes.
  20. I like Gallo as a pretty serious bounceback candidate. The NYY effect is real. Not everyone can play under those lights.
  21. Like I was kind of saying before, we have no way of knowing what is true or not, but you can't rule this out because no one with the Sox will talk, and no one in the local media will answer. But I will say this much, it does check all of the boxes here like nothing else I have heard does.
