  1. Stone has never known when to shut up. It's what got him out of the Cubs organization.
  2. This I would agree with. He is also arrogant enough to think it would work.
  3. I mean it could have been a campaign to blame the players, but if it was, it was incredibly dumb. Like who wasn't going to make the connection between bad player leadership and a bad manager? If your employees aren't interested in working, why wouldn't you look at their bosses? It seems obvious to me, but I guess Jerry or Tony would be absolute morons with how to deal with fans and media.
  4. With a hard cap in the NHL, you can really do some damage if you have the ability to take on cap room in a deal. I mean the Hawks upgraded a second round pick to a late 1st round pick and took on a starting goalie just by having some room under the cap. And yes, the Hawks have needed to sell for a while, but really did a poor job of it with the initial returns. Hopefully these guys really know how to draft, because the levels of picks weren't good.
  5. I mean all you have to do is go back and listen to Hahn's non-answers as to how he was involved in hiring Tony.
  6. The rarity of a player like this being available overrides all sanity. They will both give up tons for him, and will throw a truckload of money at him.
  7. Having a defensive OF to cover the OF mess of a defense is a good thing. Adam Engel is just fine when healthy, but if not, Billy would be a fit.
  8. It was really, really obvious that the Sox front office had a modern baseball mind in mind when Rick Hahn got up on Zoom and talked about his ideal manager to replace RR. They spent all of those years suffering through shitty baseball after stripping this to the studs and rebuilding. The last thing Rick and Kenny want to see is this ruined by a mismatch of manager and players. Maybe they lost the behind the scenes fight with Jerry, but now they are trying to win the battle of public opinion.
  9. Look, Ozzie was a mediocre manager, but he would be a huge improvement over this mess. So would Ricky or anyone else from the last decade or so.
  10. If this is what playing hard looks like, I would hate to see a lazy and/or stupid team.
  11. And who exactly is responsible for the players? In 40+ years, Jerry couldn't figure this out?
  12. It has been obvious for a while now. Call me an insider.
  13. For a guy who has been doing this for 40 years to not realize how stupid and ineffective this makes Tony sound doesn't seem plausible.
  14. I feel like this is NOT Jerry. Between the initial TLR leak, and now this one, neither reflected well on the team/organization. Going after Tony in the media seems like Rick or Kenny.
  15. Don't forget Bob was the one who got the TLR info 1st. SOMEONE is slipping him info from the inside.
  16. Hopefully this is Rick Hahn and/or Kenny Williams trying to get Tony to leave or Jerry to let them fire him.
  17. Duh. This was EXACTLY what my top worry was when they hired this clown, and it has been obvious all year long that this team isn't right.
  18. Anderson hasn't seemed 100% since he got back.
  19. Turn off the playstation.
  20. The problem is the Sox don't have a chance to trade for Soto. It would take Cease or Kopech to headline to beat out everyone else.
  21. Players? Yes. Management? No. This still looks like a team that has quit or is so frustrated they can't play intelligently.
