  1. It's a flight to quality. Many people had fled to forgein currency to hedge themselves against probable stock market losses if either Kerry had won, or the outcome was in doubt. Now that it is over, people are selling the currencies and plowing back into stocks. It is nothing unexpected.
  2. Absolutely. It was just like the 1 or 2 people who were still Billy Koch fans to the end. In spite of what everyone else said, they still made their voices heard. The elections are the sameway in this respect. Just because your side loses, doesn't mean your voice isn't heard.

Actually from what I understand, there were record numbers of youth who voted. The problem was that people who hadn't voted for years in the 30-64 age groups got out and voted in record numbers as well. Pretty much they cancelled each other out, and the raw age bracket percentages stayed the same.
  4. You don't, but do you really trust Fox?
  5. Openning day is always calenders. That or magnet schedules. BTW welcome to Soxtalk
  6. CNBC has just reported it. Looks official now.
  7. Ah, I see that as a breaking news thing.... I will wait to see it somewhere else, but it doesn't surprise me. Ohio is done, and so is Kerry.
  8. Where did you hear that at???
  9. Looking at CNN, they have already awarded to Nevada to Bush, which MSNBC has not. But they have still not awarded Ohio, which MSBNC has. If both of those fall to Bush, that makes 274 and guarentees Bush victory.
  10. MSNBC has now officially awarded Ohio to Bush. That gives him 269 EVs according to them, which would lock up at least a tie nationwide. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6291779/&CM=elexbantop&CE=full
  11. I agree with this 100%. Lets turn the page in 2008 to something totally different.
  12. Interesting notes in the Trib today have the Yankees trying to move Posada to either AZ or OAK for either Randy Johnson or Tim Hudson respectively.

  14. The Dow likes the election results so far too. It is up 160 points 15 minutes into the trading day.
  15. OMG Chris Mihm 23 and 12 I hope he keeps it up, he will be the steal of the draft.
  16. Its all a part of my super secret plan bwaahahahahaha.... Oh wait did I say that outloud? I mean, it must be since you are such an outstanding poster... Critic
  17. The voice of wisdom I agree totally. This country needs to be rebuild and reunited. Gloating and going off of the deepend are counterproductive.
  18. Sing it. I always wondered why people want to sit at Comiskey on April 1st. I would much rather wait the extra week or two if possible.
  19. And on the bright side, being gay is the quickest way out of the military
  20. I am so buying stock in Reynolds Wrap today. You are going to need a lot more aluminum foil to make your tin foil hats for the next four years.
  21. Brian Williams gave the number that 87% of people approved of the way the federal government responded to the hurricanes in FL. They were saying that the hurricanes were basically a stroke of luck for Bush, as sad as that is.
  22. More than likely 1.199 million people pulled the lever straight republican. Keyes voted for himself.
  23. Actually checks and balances IS working against the Patriot Act. Many of the controversial provisions are working their way through the courts right now. As a matter of a fact many things in the PA have been struck down already. The system DOES work, it just takes a while once the courts and lawyers get involved.
