Congratulations to Paul Konerko
A couple more notes on Pauly's 6 years on the southside. His 40 HRs, giving him a total of 162 HRs, moved him from 10th to 6th in one season on the all-time White Sox HR list. In one season he passed Sherm Lollar, Minnie Minoso, Ron Kittle, and Bill Melton. He currently stands only 9 behind Robin Ventura, for 5th, and 25 behind Maggs for 4th. Also on the RBI front his 557 RBIs move PK within 74 of Sherm Lollar for 10th on the all-time White Sox RBI leaders. In his 6 seasons here, he has averaged 92.8 RBI per season, even including the disaterous 65 last year.

Singer Cat Stevens Makes terrorist watch list
I was wondering about that when they talked about his fundraising. Any info if it was on purpose, or he just didn't know where the money was going?

Ozzie Guillen
Defintely no need to extend him yet. He really shown that he was anything special yet.

Cliff Politte
Ditto. I have no problems with either of these guys at the prices we are getting them for.

I can't remember his remember his acting name, but his real name is Fred Thompson IIRC.

Daily Herald Article
Interesting to see Torborg mentioned as a possible bench coach. I would like to see someone with some experience on the bench beside Ozzie. I think some of our problems this year have been exserbated by having so much inexperience on the bench.

Too Early to Judge Valdez?
Out of curiousity... Would you rather have Dransfeldt or Valdez and why?

Iraqis selling DVDs of executions
Yeah he was a Chicago cop for 20 years. I have met Farina before, he is a really cool guy. He was (maybe still is) a member at a country club where I worked in HS. Always friendly and joking, and a very good tipper I like him as an actor, he just doesn't fit in L&O very well right now, IMO. Hopefully that will change.

Iraqis selling DVDs of executions
Yes I did, two great episodes. I am not comfortable with Farina yet... he is a little too Chicago for L&O.

Too Early to Judge Valdez?
I could see him as a utility guy. He doesn't seem to be afraid to hit, and he has good range, and a good throwing motion.

Interesting KW quotes

There is no reason on God's green earth to support that ass-clown in any way, shape or form. Screw Kotex-Boy, and the horse he road in on.- Sabermetrics
That has been his problem all along. He needs to relax.- Sabermetrics
If you ever have listened to, or talked to Joe Borchard, you would understand the guy is incredibly smart, both in baseball and life. The hitting clinic I heard him give a few years back at Soxfest was the best clinic I have ever seen anyone give. He knows his history, he knows his technique, he knows his mentors. I have no doubt the kid could be a hitting coach. GM, who knows.- Congratulations to Paul Konerko
I wasn't addressing you specifically YAS, but a lot of people seem to be stuck in 2003 when it comes to PK. The guy IS the MLB 2004 comeback player of the year IMO. He also has had one bad year out of 6. People seem to be holding his trade value to 2003 instead of the other 5 years, and I don't quite understand that. - KW feeling more optimistic about Mags injury
