    Laci Peterson

http://www.msnbc.com/news/900348.asp?0cv=CB10 Anybody with any Californina knowledge... can they tell me how far apart it is from where the bodies were found, and where the Peterson's home is?
  3. D'Angelo has really impressed me so far. He has done everything that has been asked of him. He has taken pitches and hit the ball hard consistantly. He has done an adaquate job in the field as well. But that being said, after hearing stories about his attitude, I am curious how he will handle some adversity.
  4. He made a big error last night that led to two unearned runs. Turns out he has already made 2 errors in his 3 starts this year. I wonder if this has always been a problem for him?
  5. Right now I am in the big time Borchard camp. I see the flashes of potential and raw ablitity, plus the fact that these are the first couple of years in his life that he has been totally dedicated to just baseball, and that says to me, when he breaks out, it will be in a big way. I have also noticed that he is a bigtime student of the game. I saw clinic that he put on at Soxfest and his was BY FAR the best one of all of them. He had so much knowledge of the baseball swing and technique, I was amazed. He knew all of the Charlie Lau and Walt Hriniak techniques and often quoted from each of them. Joe is a smart smart kid.
  6. Well, if cwsox isn't enjoying this at least as much as you are, know that I am probably enjoying it even more!!! Oh, and the Blackhawks helped put Detroit in this predicament by beating them in the final game of the season!!! If the Wings won the game, they would've been playing Edmonton, a team they match up with much better. But, since they lost to the Blackhawks, they had to play Anaheim in the first round. Hurts so good!!! f*** the Dead Things As least the Blackhawks did SOMETHING right this year.
  7. The immediate killer for the Illini is that if Self leaves Villenueva made it pretty clear that he won't be going there. Most likely he will make himself eligible for the NBA draft.
  8. This statement is at best stretching the truth. I worked on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange at this time. I worked right across from the UAL pit. The suspicious trades that took place happened ON Friday Sept the 7th, not before. What happened was massive selling of Call Options in amounts that we out of line. There was no suspicious spike in volume UNTIL that day, not before.
  9. Jordan isn't coming to the Bulls this year in any capacity. All he has to do is make it one more year with the Wiz and he gets $50 mil in equity of the team. Why would he leave that on the table? Then the persistant rumor is that he we will get a high profile position with the expansion Charlotte team.
  10. I thought Tim Floyd was one of the finalists for the Georgia job? Whatever happened with that?
  11. Yeah I pulled it out right in front of him. He didn't even know who Doug Collins was.
  12. Me personally if they are going to fire Jerry, I would like to see them bring in someone with the exact opposite style of leadership. If they didn't listen to JM why would they listen to someone else like him? I don't know much about Wally Backman's style, but I think Bobby Valentine would be the man to after.
  13. I will have to admit that those are two of my favorite off day activities. At least yesterday's weather was really nice, I got to get outside for a while!
  14. 7 walks for Malone? He is never going to make it to the big leagues is he? These control problems have never gone away, and I am starting to think never will. I wonder if he could be one of those guys could convert into a closer.
  15. LMAO. Buehrle would have to do like a Beef Jerky commercial or gun safety commericals.

    Funny story

My boss hit a used book sale over the weekend out in the western burbs. He knows that I am a baseball fan, and collect old baseball history books. So he picks me up a baseball reference encylopedia from 1976. Inside of it was a piece of notepaper that has Doug Collins autograph on it. How funny is that?
  17. I know that knucklecurve of his the scouts just love. Sounds like he is on track for a possible Sept 2k4 call up, but realisitcally we are looking at 2005 or 2006 before we see him in Chicago. how old is he 20 or 21??? http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/play...ayerpage/390811 He is 20, he turns 21 in Nov.
  18. This is the Daily Herald version of the story Frank Thomas has plenty to prove this season, both to himself and the White Sox. The veteran designated hitter tailed off at the plate last year after missing most of 2001 with a torn right triceps and has been dismissed as a washed-up talent in many baseball circles. Thomas looked a lot like his old, dominant self in spring training, batting .385 with 8 doubles, 3 home runs and 14 RBI, but he has struggled during the regular season. Mired in a 3-for-18 slump that has dropped his batting average to .222, Thomas was held out of the lineup Sunday. He took the move in stride and again said he'll be teaming up with old hitting coach Walt Hriniak at U.S. Cellular Field. "We'll work this week,'' Thomas said. "He wants to help and he knows how to make me click. When we get together, everything clicks.'' Hriniak, a gruff, no-nonsense instructor, was the White Sox' hitting coach when Thomas came up in 1990. Hriniak was fired after the '95 season and has been out of baseball since. "He still watches the tapes and he knows what's going on,'' Thomas said. "He's bored. He's retired now and loves to see us do well. I'm one of his last guys left, me and Robin (Ventura), and he wants to see us do well.'' Thomas picks up the travel expenses, but he doesn't pay Hriniak for his services. "He loves it,'' Thomas said. "With my style of hitting, he's the one guy that sees the holes, sees where I'm leaking. And he knows how to fix it quick.'' Even though the season is still in the infancy stage, Thomas is trying to avoid falling into a an early hole. "I don't care what it takes, I have to get better,'' said Thomas, who batted .252 with 28 home runs and 92 RBI last season. "I've got to do it now because you can't keep throwing away at-bats. I've seem it slip and that's why I want to get back with (Hriniak).''
  19. i havent seen it yet. to bad maggs doesnt get the attention he deserves he is much better than PK where is maggs comerical. I would doubt that Maggs has an interest in doing TV ads in English. He just doesn't seem comfortable in social situations in English. Plus he doesn't seem like he wants the extra attention that comes from being a celebrity.
  20. I know that knucklecurve of his the scouts just love. Sounds like he is on track for a possible Sept 2k4 call up, but realisitcally we are looking at 2005 or 2006 before we see him in Chicago.
  21. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...27324?vi=glance The first season is now available on DVD!
  22. I am glad they hate us. To me it says that they are afraid of us.
  23. The definition of a save is the same as it was when Thigpen set the record.
  24. Kind of a side note. I am really encouraged to see JM getting the guys on the bench plenty of AB's early in the year. I really believe that this is the deepest bench we have had in a long time, and I was worried if he would use it or not. Guys like Jeff Liefer just rotted on the bench and were of no use when they needed them to PH. I like the idea of any of these guys being able to step in and start everyday, without needing the first 3 AB's just to get comfortable.
