The funny part is that per population, Chicago is 28th in the nation for murder rate. For the record, it is impressive how much of the top are in the Republican deep south, such as Birmingham, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Memphis. Also just down the list are two cities in Texas of Dallas and Beaumont. The murder rate in Chicago is 18.26/100,000. In Dallas it is 14.89/100,000. In 2021, Austin had their deadliest year in almost 20 years. Well that could have been worse.

If it was a couple of guys, sure. But when the whole team regresses at once, and when guys don't even seem interested anymore, that's a red flag.

You lived through the cold war and you can't recall this kind of stuff happening before? The 60's and 70's had incredibly higher crime rates and gun crimes then as well. You don't remember bomb shelters and hoarding for those? These are the things that make people wonder how much of this is an act.

I am pretty sure Bob was the first to mention TLR as a viable candidate too, so this is probably solid info, and not just speculation.

Kenny Williams has a foot out the door. He previously said that once this contract is up, he is leaving baseball. I can't imagine with that in mind he is doing a whole lot of what we see out there.

If you are really talking odds, I don't think the odds are any different for TLR keeping his job if the Sox are a playoff team this year versus if they aren't.

I mean it is really obvious that it sucks to lose your last game of the season. But it sucks more to not get a chance to.

Look, last year sucked the way it ended, but there is nothing like playoff baseball. Even if it isn't fleeting, it is sure as hell better than speculating on what he will do with the 15th pick in the draft.

If this team really does pull it together and make the playoffs, a lot of good things had to happen in a shorter period of time. To get to 87 wins they need to go 64-49 the rest of this season, which is .556 baseball. As of now, I am seeing nothing tell me that this group is going to be able to play that kind of baseball.

And before Ukraine gets mentioned, Ukraine is still standing because they are a modern military, and the US + Europe are supplying them even more modern military hardware.
