The big difference is the Texas property taxes are bonkers. No state income tax helps, but that is how they make up for it.
  3. Well at least they are tanking for a draft pick... Oh wait.

For the record, SA has a population of 1.5 million and 2.5 in the metro area. Chicago is about 3 million and about 9.5 in the metro. What is really interesting about those numbers if you divide the Chicago market just in half to account for Cubs population, they are about the same in population, and the metros become a lot closer. It becomes closer still if you push the number for the Sox, especially in the suburbs a bit lower.
  5. There is about a 98% chance the last time his time is mentioned is in this thread.
  6. Put up some really nice numbers in the now independent Great Falls last year. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=norman000ben
  7. 6 days ago they signed Brandon Finegan. A week ago they added two international free agents
  8. It would take a literal act of Congress to make it even possible.
  9. Well the average coach has a 50% win rate...
  10. I mean it is almost certain that the Sox have SOME more signings to announce. Typically they formally sign around half a dozen guys on signing day who are in the 200+k ish range. With the weird information flow and blatant rules violations that already happen down there, its hard to get information on signings ahead of time in a good year. When you factor in covid and some of the extra political problems happening in some of these countries, I can imagine information is at a premium right now. The other side of the coin is, if they DON'T announce another chunk of signings in a month, it is a really good sign that they already have an in with someone like Prieto or another defector that hasn't been announced yet.

    IN MID DECEMBER!!!
  13. Wasn't there a 25 man deal he tried to get done with maybe Texas, like 16 for 9 players or something? There were stories about the things that didn't happen which were also a big part of the story
  14. The Bears are a damned dumpster fire. If anyone in Chicago should see it, they should look at the change in the Bulls from top to bottom and realize that is what they needc to do.
  15. Also why are they only signing him because he is a Tatis?
  16. Ah, I couldn't figure out if they adjusted the birthdates as well. Thanks!
  17. Speaking of international signings, was this supposed to be the year for the youngest Tatis, or is that next year? I am kind of lost with the changes in the signings dates.
  18. Yes, because we should count on Dad for objective scouting advice.
  19. He's not doing anything, anyway.
