  1. I am still waiting to be blown away by these awesome strategic manager moves that Tony is supposed to be giving us. I was happy to see him hit the obvious one last night with how he handled Collins/Yas, but the bullpen management has been scary. It has just completely collapsed under him this season.
  2. Pat Foley is giving it one more season. I get it is probably time with some of the off ice controversies, but damn, Pat is one of the best EVER, and it in any sport. What a legend. I feel old losing Hawk, Doc, and now Pat.
  3. If Gonzalez isn't going to playing CF over anyone but Leury, there is no reason for him to be here. Also for the record, by my count, this is quite literally our 3rd string OF taking the field today based on where we came into spring training.
  4. Even if he peaks out at a back up IF that works for me. I think Garcia is probably gone after this year, so a spot or two like that is probably open.
  5. I know many have written off Yolbert, but hopefully with him getting his first real taste of baseball since 2018 if you throw out the DSL, he is finally settling into a routine and comfortability. He's actually had a really good last month especially.
  6. I believe the term is "suboptimal "
  7. So there are arguments that not playing your best players is OK. Perfect.
  8. 2 hits, a bunt that was really an error, and what would have been a routine grounder to 3rd if the defense wasn't drawn in because of the extra bases due to the error.
  9. He just better hope that using Mercedes too doesn't come back to haunt him.
  10. Tony played that one perfectly. He got Collins with Gio for a solid outing and then Yas got in once he was done.
  11. Let's wait and see if Lynn recovers.
  12. That's a great read by Vaughn. Eloy would have killed himself on that ball.
  13. I didn't forget it, but I also don't think that AV will be a 35 OPS player at the playoffs, unless you prematurely turn him into a platoon player and turn him into a longer term failure.
  14. So not last season, not opening day, not May, but the middle of June when all of those deadlines have passed. I would be curious what change in all of that time that NOW Wander is a better option than what Tampa has had in place at all of those points in time, where he wasn't the most optimal option before today?
  15. The Rays approach is to pinch pennies by having the best prospect in baseball playing in the minor when he should be on their team so he doesn't become a FA or super 2 too soon. I would call that sub-optimal.
  16. Apparently he is sub-optimal for TB.
