This entire thread of responses is full of terrible takes. Of course we learn more and improve our techniques for medicine and pretty much anything else. If you really don't believe in modern research and technology, you need to be living in an Amish community or something to stay consistent with this line of thinking. I would expect what we do in 2021 to be an improvement over what we did in 2010, 2000, 1990, etc. Of course over time there are going to be things we replace as we learn more. The anti-science movement is one of the worst things about modern America.

Why though? When I go to the doctor, I don't expect the secretary signing me in to be able to do complex surgeries. When I got to the mechanic, I don't expect the person taking appointments over the phone to be able to overhaul my engine. When I go to college, I don't expect the financial aid department to be able to give a dissertation on multi-verse theory. When I go to the Sears Tower I don't expect the guy taking out the trash to know the physics behind the design of the antennas. So why when I listen to a baseball game would I expect the pre/post game guys, and announcers to know what the manager should know?

Our #1, #2, and #4 OFs are DL'd with our #3 hurting. Sure it would have helped to have another OF, but there isn't depth that would overcome playing your 5th, 6th, and 7th OFs.

He's far from alone on that. There are a core group of somewhere around 10 people who can't leave Soxtalk, no matter how many times they have been banned.

He's been banned here probably half of a dozen times under different IDs.

Look, it takes a decent amount of courage and integrity to actually step up here and take responsibility for ones actions. So much of Soxtalk has just become doubling down on whatever dumb thing that happened to come out of one's keyboard on a previous post, that it turns entire threads and days into posting trash. There are quite a few people posting in this thread, and especially looking to see how far they can go before crossing a line, who could learn something from understanding what happened here. There is no obligation to follow up one shit post with another. I know the internet is full of oneupsmanship, but Soxtalk doesn't have to be like the rest of the internet. In fact one of the best things about Soxtalk historically has been the fact that people were more decent than 99.9% of the rest of similar boards and pages. Look we get there are reactions in the moment, but there is nothing wrong with taking a moment to reflect and learn. Good for CWS here. Hopefully a few others are taking notes.
