QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 12:42 PM) Yes on the strength, but sugar is optional, eg, versus Cuban coffee in which it is integral in the preparation of the drink. The biggest distinction between Turkish cofee and other strong espresso coffees is that the ground roast beans are boiled directly in a pot of water, rather than using pressure to force the water through a bed of espresso grind. That means there will be a lot of coffee dregs that need to settle out - some in the pot and the rest in the cup. The grind for Turkish is also extremely fine – moreso than with typical espresso. 100% correct. Well done.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:27 AM) I'd be more of a fan of making a deal for Okafor, because his age is more in alignment with this mini rebuild. That would definitely also be a target, but I personally feel that between his youth and the fact that he played all 82 last season, Charlotte will want far too much for a guy who really isn't all that fantastic offensively. Brand is a 20-10 guy at age 29 while Okafor is a 14-10 guy at age 26 (when the seasons starts). To be honest with you, there is no reason not to expect Noah to be able to put up Okafor numbers in a season or 2.

Maxwell House Columbian Supreme in the morning and a cup of fresh home-ground Turkish coffee in the afternoon.

I've always been on the side of "you don't hit a woman ever" but if they go ahead and exploit that thinking there is nothing you can do, then they deserve what's coming to them. They shouldn't expect to be able to beat on a man and have no repercussions. Kind of a double-standard.
-
In the "Trade for Brand" scenario, the line-up probably ends up looking like: PG Rose SG Thabo/Hughes/Gordon (in that order) SF Deng PF Brand C Noah I've been an advocate of this move for a while now.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 31, 2008 -> 11:49 PM) If Rose has no outside shot now, he's certainly not going to develop one in the pros. Umm? Talk about a double-standard. Everyone has faith in the 21 year old Tyrus Thomas to become Shawn Marion and develop a "J" but 19 year old Derrick Rose has no chance? WTF. Considering Rose has tons more talent and potential than Tyrus...yikes.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ May 31, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) We just played two of the nastiest pitchers in the league and simply got beat. Shields and Kazmir have wicked stuff, and these Rays can pitch. Two games like this don't call for a thread about Fields needing to be called up. Shields "stuff" is quite mediocre. A solid fastball and a really good change-up. We should have dropped 7 or 8 on his ass.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 30, 2008 -> 11:05 AM) I liked on Seinfeld when Jerry told a telemarketer that he was kind of busy, but if he gave him his home number he would call him when he was at home and they could talk about it further. One of my favorite episodes. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 30, 2008 -> 11:06 AM) Can't forget this classic telemarketer call... http://joshualowry.vox.com/library/audio/6...2ab8c18e1d.html I remember listening to that. I'm sure the caller was s***ting himself.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 30, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) The reviews I read about it made it sound ok? :huh I'm very disappointed, being that Mark Wahlberg is one of my favorite actors.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2008 -> 09:03 PM) 1. Sox lost 2. Cubs won So yes, so far this season, in the fashion both outcomes happened, it was the worst day of the season so far as a fan. Thanks for your concerns. Not a single post in the game thread tonight, and then this? Yeah, work sucks.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Worst day of baseball so far this season. Why? Because the Cubs came back from 8 runs down to win and the Sox lost in the bottom of the 9th? GMAB. And knightni, I'm pretty sure you're being sarcastic, but that play at the fence is 450+ feet away from Hawk. Kinda hard to tell.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 28, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) didn't we already play tampa IN TAMPA this year? why are we going BACK to tampa to play them before they play us at home? The same reason we started the season on a 6 game road trip and have the least amount of home game played of any team in the MLB. -
QUOTE (Wanne @ May 28, 2008 -> 06:13 PM) How quickly they forget the first series we played.... We got so f***ed on Opening Day.
