  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 11, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) Link The latest hype is that the Titans owner wants Peyton Manning VERY badly. He makes a ton of sense in Tennessee IMO. He's already adored there from his college days. You let Locker learn from one of the best ever for a few years, and having him at QB will boost tickets and merchandise sales by a ton. Manning/Johnson/Britt/FA WR (Wayne) is pretty dynamic if Britt comes back like his old self.
  2. Pizza or mexican food.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) 6.8 percent body fat...boom! You got your body fat down 2.2% in one week? That seems pretty high and impressive. How do you measure it? Go to the doctor?
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) He's still never had another role as good as the villain in 3:11 to Yuma. Looks like John Carter's headed for the high 20 millions in terms of box office, rather than the $20-22 million most were predicting. Still, a huge disappointment and a ton of work domestically and internationally to come halfway close to breaking even on that $250+ million budget, which I guess includes marketing costs (hopefully for Disney). Agreed, that's my favorite role he's had so far. He's just natural in the bad guy, f***ed up psycho, revenge roles. I was telling my sister about the movie last night, and she had no idea who Ben Foster was. I love him in Hostage. I love him in 3:10 to Yuma. I love him in Alpha Dog. But he hasn't had any huge, prominent roles. She hasn't seen a single of his movies.

Barney Stinson is my hero, if I haven't mentioned this before.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 01:18 PM) Because he's being a moron about this. Izzo? I agree. Sure, he's your "friend" and he's a great guy and he's a "soldier" but his teams were chronic underperformers. It was time. Basically, Izzo said "Well, I'm the best in the Big Ten. And he's my friend. And they beat us a lot, so he must be a good coach." Shut up, Izzo.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 08:21 AM) That's funny, because a large part of the reason Weber got fired is because they said he couldn't coach the talent that he recruited. He never brought in elite talent. I'm talking top guys, who now-days, are one-and-done guys.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 08:26 PM) There are a lot of analogies with Weber and Tom Davis, although Davis had a track record with Stanford and BC previously. Davis did very well with George Raveling's recruits (almost made the Final 4 and had a #1 ranking in the mid-80's) and then from that point on, the best he could do was usually getting to the NCAA's and losing in the 2nd round to an ACC superpower. Ultimately, it always comes down to recruiting, and when you have Chicago at your doorstep, you have to lock down those recruits. Ultimately, Tom Davis lost his job at Iowa because he couldn't keep Raef LaFrentz, Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison in-state. In retrospect, be careful what you wish for...after Davis led them to the Sweet 16 his final year, there's been a grand total of one NCAA tourney win in the past 10+ years, over Creighton. Then following year, when some were picking them #1 in the country preseason, they totally collapsed with a 5-11 BIG 10 record. In their other two appearances, first round losses to Cincinnati and the devastating loss to Northwestern (LA) State in 2006 when they were up by 17 in the second half as the #3 seed. They hired too "glamour" choices in Steve Alford and Todd Lickliter had the former NCAA Coach of the Year record on his resume, but winning at Iowa is always going to be about recruiting, plain and simple. And they can't hire JUST a recruiter or they'll end up with another version of Ron Zook. This is basketball. Talent will almost always win out. Get me the guy who can recruit the best players and I'll take my chances.
  9. QUOTE (Real @ Mar 6, 2012 -> 11:24 PM) People will actually make the case "I didn't think it was possible for Dunn to have a worse 2012 than he did in 2011" after this season is over. Under, followed by a resignation of KW I'd be willing to wager almost anything that this doesn't even come close to happening. I'm also taking the over. I think he has a season a bit below his career averages, meaning he'll be a quality contributor for us.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 11:24 PM) About to watch The Mechanic. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 01:33 AM) Not Statham's best, not nearly his worst. I'm an idiot. Somehow forgot that I watched this last year so I got a 2nd showing. Still enjoyed it. I'm a big Statham fan, and I also like Ben Foster a lot too.
  11. TWolves fearing Rubio might have torn his ACL in the late collision he had with Kobe tonight. That would suck.

I'm officially hooked to HIMYM. Saw a few episodes today and I'll be starting from EP 1 on Netflix. The Naked Man and all the Slap Bets are absolutely hysterical.
  13. About to watch The Mechanic.
  14. Officially, the Rams are getting WSH 2012, 2013 and 2014 1st rounders, as well as WSH 2012 2nd rounder. WOW.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Oh Jesus F***ing Christ Well, Gar need's to be on the phone. We need a scorer. I wouldn't be opposed to signing Wilson Chandler if possible when he is cleared, but it seems he'll get too much money, and wants to go back to DEN.
  16. Holy s***, what setup by Kane and Hossa for a Sharpie goal! 2-2!
  17. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) Colts cut Dallas Clark, I'd like to see the Bears sign him and forget about re-signing Kellen Davis. Yes please! In other news, the Redskins have a deal with the Rams for the 2nd pick in the draft. The Rams will get the 6th pick, two future 1sts and additional 2nd, per Jay Glazer and Adam Schefter. And Mark Sanchez signs an extension in NY. Take two more teams out of the Manning sweepstakes.

    PB&J

Peanut butter and bacon sounds incredibly intriguing. And props to whoever said blackberry jam. My grandma has been making homemade blackberry jam for years. My sister's ultimate sammich is actually a toasted plain bagel with crunchy peanut butter and blackeberry jam.
  19. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 01:33 AM) I hope Felix has seen this because it is excellent. Is it weird that I watched that and the first thing that went through my head was "Brad Miller is still in the league? And plays for the TWolves?"
  20. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 01:28 AM) Yes, but not many teams in the league can actually do that, Orlando has the 3PT shooters to do so, hence why they can be really dangerous when everything is clicking for them (the 08-09 ECF series against Cleveland being a perfect example). Having a lot of 3 point shooters doesn't make it any more likely that they'll all fall at the same time. Even the best shooters can only hit it at a 40% clip.
  21. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 01:24 AM) Well a win is a win, we played probably 1 and a half good quarters of basketball all up, but the Bulls weren't very good tonight. The 1st Q showed what we're capable if we get good ball movement on offense and can actually knock down our shots. Orlando is so Jekyll and Hyde though they can blow a 20PT lead to the worst team in basketball one night and then lead by around 20 in the next game against argubly the best team in the NBA currently. The 4th quarter showed how much we need someone who can create their own shot on offense though, hence why Monta Ellis would be such a good acquisiton for us. Hedo filled that role 3-4 seasons ago, but he's certainly not good enough to do that anymore. If Orlando can actually shoot that way come playoff time, they'll make it interesting in a series against Miami or Chicago. The problem is I don't see them playing hard enough over a 7 game series, everything pretty much has to go perfectly on offense and defense for them to win. Any team in any league looks good when they shoot 15-20 in a quarter including 6-7 from 3. Hedo played really well for most of the game tonight.
  22. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 12:52 AM) Anybody else having trouble with Firefox crashing a lot lately? Ya, they came up with solution a long time ago. It's called Google Chrome.

    St. Patrick's Day

Anyone have any plans? This year, I'll be attending the festivities in Savannah, GA. Apparently they are known for their St. Patrick's Day parade and celebrations. Bars are open all day, you can drink on the streets, and they have to-go cups. Works for me.
