wondering the same, looked awkward

agreed, now sure maybe his launch angle is lower than desired, but he destroys baseballs

I’ll stan AV for as long as I need to, this narrative is false and not supported by advanced metrics.

Went to back to back games in Minny probably 7 years or so ago now, other than the Sox going 0-2 and getting outscored what felt like 10,000-2 over the 2 games had a great time and a beautiful park. Minny is beautiful in the summer, bunch of cool bike trails that you can ride all over town on their equivalent of the Divvy.

Bummed for TA, really seemed like he was firing on all cylinders right out of the gate and remembered how to pull the ball. You signed Andrus for this reason, now will the new staff do the right thing and let Sosa play every day?

Jason keeps citing that Grifol is comfortable with Colas batting against LHP but neglects to mention he hit better against LHP at every level last year.

I like how Soxtalk has decided a guy in the top 10% hard hit rate last year in his first full big league season, that currently has an OPS+ of 131 and isn't in the field today is a terrible pick and player.

Jimmy doesn't like giving up runs, Jimmy likes getting outs.

On opening day I made some hopeful post about last year being the darkness before the dawn, sorry bros.

Remember when this clown on the mound thought he was worth $175M

I'm with you, I was certainly over-reacting to Kopech's bad day, but I do agree he may be better suited for the pen long term which may help keep the velo up. If he can start commanding the change up or learn a cutter or something to keep lefties off balance especially, he should be a very serviceable starter.

I was one to quickly claim Kopech's career is over. My sense with Kopech is that he as no idea how to approach a hitter. His FB was so dominant his entire life he's never had to learn. Now his FB is pedestrian, his breaking ball command suspect, and change up command still a work in progress. Now he's trying to learn how to pitch at the big league level and I don't suspect it will go very well. Lance on the other hand is just fat and old.

Looks like tubbs tweaked his knee again.

The word was Duvall wanted no part of a platoon. Edit - I see this has been covered

love it, so jaded I assumed he was dogging it

In a similar situation and seeing all these "good hustle Benny!" posts and assuming they are sarcasm, did he actually hustle?

Trying to look on the bright side myself, Burger provided a little offensive spark last year and had a nice spring. Between him and Sheets the DH drop off should be minimal. Just brutal that it's basically now confirmed we'll never see the full potential of a healthy Eloy.

I've wondered the same, however Juan Soto essentially does the same thing from the left side and he seems to be fine.

I do take grammar pretty seriously, so thanks for noticing. Another Bay Area Sox fan?!?! I thought I was the only one, hit me up if you ever want to catch a game or something, I'm in Walnut Creek.

Well gents here we are, we made it, another Opening Day. Hope springs eternal and I sure hope last year was the darkness before the dawn, there is nowhere to go but up. I hope the offseason has treated you all well and we have more celebrating than complaining in 2023 on Soxtalk, Nothing left to do but sit back, relax and strap it down for another season of White Sox Baseball. Let's get to work!

Just watched the replay again like 9 times, I'm not sure Yoan ever made contact with the LF. Probably looking for an extended ST excuse to stay in warmer weather.
