  1. First I've seen of it, with all the trade discussion from Hahn and Gio becoming a player rep, def seems like a fair amount of smoke around moving him.
  2. This, get a stud defender/framer/game caller and spend the resources elsewhere.
  3. Feels like the only upside in trading him now is if his arm falls off, I'd rather wait and hope he returns to form, then trade him at the TDL if they're out of it, or extend the QO in the off-season if they're good enough to make a run this year.
  4. I feel like Rick loves wasting resources at BP and catcher, so I now fully expect this to happen and I'm sick to my stomach.
  5. Yeah, when you said that I was a little shocked to see CF on the list, went back and checked the Baseball Reference history, realized I don't know a whole lot about the 60's-70's White Sox.
  6. 1B has certainly been the most stable position since I've been around, I was born the night the O's spanked us 11-1 in the '83 ALCS.
  7. Is it really that simple? They both have realistic WS aspirations and holes at 1B, he makes way more sense for them than he does for the White Sox.
  8. Have you entirely forgotten about the debacle of the 2016 Chicago White Sox? I'm not blaming one grown man, simply asking the question of where is the substance behind the claim of leadership? If you think leading by example is the BEST that a leader can do, then I can see where you're coming from, I just don't agree that setting the example is the ultimate form of leadership.
  9. Anytime anybody brings up Jose's supposedly excellent leadership abilities, I think of the Brad Pitt "Moneyball" line "if he's such a good hitter, then why don't he hit good?" If Jose is such a great clubhouse guy, why has he been around for a bunch of the most dysfunctional clubhouses in recent MLB memory? If he's such a great mentor, why is this team filled with the laziest young Latinos in the game? Today is a good day, one I've been looking forward to for a long, long time.
  10. I've yet to see one of these off-season plans that does not look like a 3rd place team in the division. I'm depressed for next season already.
  11. Eovaldi right off the bat seems like a guy that could benefit from accepting and try FA again next year.
  12. I suspect Judge was receiving the benefit of non-humidor balls all year so the MLB could push the HR chase. When comparing annual HR leaders vs the 2nd place guy, Judge put up a historic variance. I did the math from 1970-2022, Judge's season represents the biggest variance in that window from HR leader to 2nd place guy, at a whopping 34.78% increase from the 2nd place batter. Only other instance with a 30% or greater variance was 1989. Judge is great, but something is fishy about his past season.
  13. Last name is misspelled in the thread title, starts with a Y.
  14. Can't a guy have a dissenting opinion? No hurt feelings over here.
  15. I'm pretty sure Jason would call himself a nerd, he has a CP campaign called "Awkward Moments." Some of you guys are actively looking to be offended by innocuous comments on this board.
  16. Any and all, if Jason Benetti isn't a nerd, then nobody is.
  17. that's fine, I find the fanboy schtick to be quite annoying
  18. "it's not rocket surgery" and "you've got Shingo Takatsu out here blowing slaves" are my 2 fav DJ lines ever and still in frequent rotation in my lexicon.
  19. It becomes difficult to listen to a nerd that has never fielded a grounder in his life talk baseball as an authority on the subject over the long haul, I'm ready for a fresh voice. If it's Kaspar however, I'll be on the opposing feed as others mentioned.
