That's fine if you want to trade him after his arb years are up, but I want his elite value in those years. There's no guarantee Bonemer does anything at the MLB level, I'm not banking on that and would much rather trade him than Colson, who we already know is a top 5 SS in the sport.

I thought this format was so much better than the timed format where you can't even see where the balls lands. This way created a lot of dramatic moments, let the moment breathe, it was nice. It has to be less taxing physically on the players as well. I hope they keep this up for the foreseeable future. The actual directing and broadcast left a lot to be desired. They kept doing extreme closeups on the hitter and showing the players watching while batters were swinging. Also, Will Ferrell reminds me of my Grandma, but less funny.

According to Baseball Savant/Statcast the arm is as advertised.

Per Baseball Savant/Statcast for their careers at SS Acuna has averaged one out above replacement every 294 innings, Colson has averaged one out above replacement every 65 innings. It's pretty clear they aren't close defensively. Acuna is currently -1 for the year at SS and -2 in CF.

For sure, I think his well above average size for SS also just makes him look a little less clean than a typical MLB SS. Anyway, it's fun as hell to watch and he's quickly become one of my favorites on the squad.

It's honestly difficult (for me anyway) to grade his arm at this point because he's so elite at reaction/first step you very rarely have to see him put max effort into a throw, he makes it all look easy.

Yeah, I watched him float towards it when he should have been sprinting. I think he's going to be a stud, but he's a lot more raw than I expected.

I graduated Providence Catholic in 2002. My Uncle Jim went to high school and college with Pope Leo. Really didn't expect this to take off like it did. I think you guys are all sorely mistaken on what it takes to be a professional athlete. Middle school females run miles sub 8 minutes routinely. Anyone that takes fitness seriously runs sub 7 min miles with ease. You guys are acting like this is some absurd feat of physical fitness to expect a major league outfielder to be able to run a mile.

An 8 min mile might be pretty good for an average human, for an MLB outfielder it's pathetic. I would argue it's way more aerobic than you're making it out to be, the guy couldn't get to first base without pulling up lame, I'm simply trying to make the point that looking good with your shirt off and being "in shape" are two very different things.

For sure, the point of my post was if you saw me you'd think I was in shape, but if I was doing any taxing cardio stuff I would be gassed pretty quickly. Eloy looked the part, but his body couldn't handle the full rigors of a baseball season.
