QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) Do you ever hear Dye's name mentioned when people talk about the Mannys, Crawfords, Damons, Vlads, etc? Dye is constantly overlooked by the national media and White Sox fans. People just take his numbers for granted. This thread is well-deserved. where the hell have you been? when has any Sox player ever gotten the attention they deserved? to tell you the truth, i kinda like it that way because its all ive ever known. if this is a story over whose been overlooked and who hasent, think of the bigger picture. this team and last years team was completly overshadowed in the media. from ESPN to local evening news, there was always another team getting the glory . as far as i can remeber, the scrubs have always gotten more attention than our southsiders. why? perhaps we will never know, all i know is that im a tried and true sox fan and have never seen our team or players be the continued center of attention. i still hold firm to my previous statement.

i didnt read the whole thread but JD cant be as underrated as you say, hell he was MVP of da series

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) Questioning a team's heart or chemistry is the dumbest thing ever in sports. If a team wins, people think they have heart/chemistry. If the Sox held on to win after Dye's homer, people would be saying how much heart we showed. i agree partly but think back to when Albert Belle was playing for us. A.B. was probably one of the most disliked players on any given ball club, but did that effect the teams performance? maybe but only to a small degree. i can hardly think that it did for us. sure, chemistry helps mold championship teams together like our 05 sox but i dont think it is necessary. either your post is agreeing with me or isnt, im not sure.

umm. good news i hope. -
Buddy Bell has had a rough go of it with every team he's ever managed. with correct coaching and leadership, that ball club could be a real turn around team. sound like a team you know? KC will need a major overhaul and some roster changes i.e. pitching staff. they can do alright offensively and we've seen that. da Royals big problem is that their starters can't give them more than 6 or 7 IP. they eat up their bullpen. just my zero dollars and 2 cents.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 6, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) Its the f***ing royals, the worst team in baseball. We shouldnt be leading the season series 4-3 on a 20 loss team in the first week of may. I dont want to hear Hawk talking about how even though Runny Nose Hernandez is a crappy pitcher on a crappy team, tonight his s*** is crisp. We were able to get 2 runs on the great Santana, yet dogs*** pitchers like Earlton shut us down. We also need to get Dye healthy so we can stop with the 3 scrub lineup. Putting 3 or more backup players in the lineup is the cause for half of our losses. 1-5 with the 3 dog lineup. Memo to the Sox MAKE THE ROYALS EAT s*** i wouldnt underestimate the Royals. they are a good baseball team, but their record doesnt reflect it, so many people like yourself just assume that they suck. just look at john buck for instance. he may not be swinging a good bat but he can gun down a runner with the best of em. Pods doesnt have 1 SB(that i know of) with Buck behind the plate and has been caught stealing by him at least three times. if you disect it all and look at every player, they have a pretty respectable lineup.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 6, 2006 -> 08:01 AM) Its amazing to me the total pass White Sox fans give to Jenks when he is horrible. If it were Marte, or any other White Sox reliever who ever lived who came in with a runner on first and no outs, and allowed that runner to score, while allowing 3 more runs, he would have been crucified. With Jenks, its Ozzie blew the game by not having him start the inning. Someone please explain why Jenks, who was so bad he couldn't even finish the inning, would have performed better and got the save if Thornton didn't pitch to the leadoff man. And if coming in with a runner on first is so tough, then why have other Sox relievers been blasted when they allow these runs to score? how is it amazing? in case you havent noticed, this is Chicago. Chi-town has always been notorius for having the most opinionated and demanding fans. myself included. this is no surprise and has been going on for years.
