I HEART MY BOX! xB drives well and its nice to get 30+ mpg all the time with gas over 2 a gallon.
  2. They interrupted Oprah for that on ABC stations in Philadelphia and New York.
  3. This is just the damn internet. Geez.
  4. Bob Dole's wife has talent and political acumen?
  5. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Still, I'm not exactly feeling good about the freaking Tigers and Pirates out-drawing us on a 75-degree afternoon in April... KC @ DET: 14,168 MIL @ PIT: 12.077 CLE @ SOX: 10,520 Fortunately, we don't play like them. They're outdrawing in Detroit I bet because Redwings season ticket holders probably got a bunch of free Tigers tickets.
  6. Your first place Chicago White Sox! Magic Number: 160.
  7. And by that you mean, our owner has a face that fans can identify when they need a reason to show that the ownership is not committed to winning. Like the Cubs had been real aggressive at getting the postseason in the 90s. What did all their fans do, buy the Sun Times?
  8. I need Paulie to hit a homerun for my fantasy team anyway....
  9. Try the veal, and if you're drinkin, don't drive.... Remember, the 6 oclock show completely different from the 2 oclock show everybody.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) So that is two near misses :banghead Just like me at the bar last night.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) OK.. hold on.. let me cut past this vein and I'll send it right over.. You think you got it bad? I put my lifesavings on a 162-0 Sox season bet based on Monday's game... Now where am I gonna come up with that $1.63 if things suddenly go bad?
  12. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) The Cubs have neither and still have drawn 30,000+ on day games in April over the past few years. Not trying to play devil's advocate, but it's true. Reinsdorf really killed this team's fan base in '94. The Cubs have one of the most revered ballparks in the majors, a neighborhood that people actually think is nice (despite the reality of the situation), and twenty years of good marketing. We have none of those things.
  13. Maybe if we had 26 championships and played a division rival who just won the World Series, we'd sell out that whole series too.
  14. Maybe he's having a good game? I'm liking what I'm seeing so far between us and the Tribe actually (not that I see anything from my desk at work) because it may mean that this year is going to be more about pitching and less about offense, which would mean better baseball in general.
  15. I used to rub off the eyebrows of my ex girlfriend.
  16. I gave my boyfriend a hickey on his forehead the other day. It was an accident, I swear.
  17. I always thought AM 1000 (WCFL,WLUP,WMVP) was a nondirectional 50K clear channel signal, but apparently it isn't. I do know that 670 WSCR (formerly the mighty MAQ) is a nondirectional. It's a better, more powerful signal because it doesn't need to protect anyone near it. (There's a 660 in NY and nothing west of it between Chicago and the Rockies) and 1000 may have to protect itself against stations in Canada and Mexico at night.
  18. They say that it will start to return to normal after a few years, I imagine with much scarring.
  19. I'm looking at this in a purely politics light. Although it'd be nice for President Carter to make the funeral, it's more important for the Secretary of State to be at the funeral of a head of state (because, if you remember, that's what the Pope is). Although Powell was in many respects considered a good man by many world leaders, his ability to be a good sec of state was hampered by the fact that he didn't travel and didn't really want to either. Having Condi at the funeral is a good move for the Bush administration because its another step towards a perceived internationalization of the administration's foreign policy. Something which is crucial to acheive the administration's foreign policy goals over the next 4 years.
  20. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) Jim Ryan? Agreed. I can't believe that intelligent men such as Delay and Ryan make such idiotic decisions. My favorite is the former mayor of Waterbury, CT (can't recall his name). He was thrown out of office and imprisoned for having intercourse with underage prostitutes. And it gets even better: His father-in-law is in the mafia. I wonder how long it'll be before he gets shanked in the joint. Dan Rostenkowski. He went to jail for abusing free stamp privileges for Congressmen.
  21. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) I've got an quicker, more simple idea: TERM LIMITS!!!!!!!!!! You can limit your Congressman's term every Second November.
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 07:25 AM) How would you have put them in order? Pres Bush, Rice, Clinton, Bush Sr.?? Where ould you have put Mrs. Bush? Bush, Rice, Laura, Clinton, Poppy, Cheney, Carter and everyone's favorite forgotten living president, FORD.
  23. Hmmm... how can I fix this with my magic mod powers.... Girls, you're all pretty?
