*Official* Steroid Thread

QUOTE(Molto @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) I do think Canseco is just trying to sell his book and is just giving a big "f*** you" to everyone, those are his intentions, but just because he's bitter and looking to take certain guys down, doesn't mean what he's saying is false. He's just letting it out because he doesn't care. His intentions are wrong, but right or wrong, there is a steriod problem in the game and he would know about it more than most. Those two points together makes me think there is truth to what he's saying. The book is already out and for sale. Saw it at Hudson News tonight. -
I was there when he pitched against Sosa last year. The Cell was electric. Game of his career. Sweet. Sentence Fragments. Are Cool.

How many games are you going to this year?
Rex Kickass replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My plan is two games. One at Jankee Stadium, and another at the Cell or Camden, depending on my schedule. -
The Frisbee is closer to 50 than 60, doesnt even show up on the Cell's Radar Gun. I've seen his stuff waver between 51 and 93 miles an hour in the same at bat. That kind of speed differential is tough for any hitter when the delivery is identical.

What would you change.....
Rex Kickass replied to LosMediasBlancas's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Make it harder to hit home runs.... Make everyone who can, move the fences back. Make Coors Field have it 600 feet to center field, (that should keep HR's there down like 10%) Ban Jeffrey Loria from baseball. -
If Schilling wasn't such a media hound....

Next time I go to the World Series, I'm gonna donate a used band-aid that "witnessed historic game two." It's gonna be awesome. -
*Official* Steroid Thread

I don't advocate the use of steroids or performance enhancing drugs, but it was my understanding that it wasn't illegal in MLB prior to the past couple of years.... So why is this such a controversy? People are acting like every player before 1980 were as pure as the driven snow. There have always been lots of "greymarket" things happening surrounding sports. It's a problem, let's clean it up and chase it aggressively now - and forget about what happened in the past. Frankly, it doesn't matter to me who made their nuts shrink for an extra boost in their stats. -
Porno movies used to attempt a story.... because they were in theaters and needed to fill time. It wasn't until they brought in video that they became jackoffontits movies. Roger Ebert cowrote an X rated film, "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls." Its so bad that its so good.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Was it? I have read that Hussien himself made at least $10 billion from the 50 cents a a barrel kickbacks he was recieving. And as for Bremer, has any money been connected to him? To his son? To a genocidal dictator? As bribes to foreign governments? Sure he should be fired if they can't account for the $9 billion. That alone is indefensible. But this isn't even in the same league as bribing a world body. That would mean sales of 20 billion barrels of oil. This would mean that Iraq would have had to produce over 2 billion barrels of oil a year for sale under the Oil For Food program. At its peak during the containment regime, Iraq was selling less than one third of that yearly.

That alone is indefensible. But this isn't even in the same league as bribing a world body. The CPA no longer exists. The Voelcker report that everyone crows about alleges the fraud to be approximately 6.5 billion dollars from Oil For Food. It's estimated that Saddam Hussein was able to make approximately 20 billion in illegal revenues from other streams.
-
So does that mean that Paul Bremer should also be held accountable too since 9 billion dollars in Iraqi Oil Revenue went missing under his watch? That amount by the way is greater than the fraud committed in Oil for Food.

The airline that Paris Hilton interned at on the Simple Life has since gone belly up....

And she was convicted for issuing a press release.

What doesn't apply to Bea Arthur, really?

He also registered exposejessejackson.com too. But I'm afraid to look and see if that's a porn site or not.

Not really. It's sort of a nostalgic song about memories of love near as I can figure.

What's most sad? This tidbit of investigative journalism didn't come from anyone in the establishment. It came from a blog called "World O Crap."

I'm in love with this little acoustic song by Erdmobel. It's in German though. It's called "In Den Schuhen von Audrey Hepburn." I've translated most of it, still can't figure out what its about.

Whoever did? Although I find it odd that this dude was the ONLY person allowed to use a pseudonym in the White House press pool.
