It's officially playing in one theatre in NYC and one in LA. Tried to get tickets tonight but all the showings in NYC were sold out. It gets full release on December 25. He hasn't really had time to get stale, like a Kevin Smith movie. He started with Bottle Rocket, a funny stupid movie in 1994. Personally, I think when the stories and settings are completely different, the same grouping of actors stay fresh and compelling provided that the chemistry is right. Kevin Smith got stale because all the stories were the same, with similar characters and the same kinds of dialogue and story. Wes Anderson definitely doesn't do that. Oh yeah, Owen Wilson cowrote this movie I'll wager. Like he did with Royal and Rocket.

I wanted Urbina before I knew what we had in Shingo. And I was pissed to see him go to the Tigers, because if healthy - he can shut a team down. But now, it seems like too much money for a guy who's going to set up or share closing duties.

Shoe as a fifth starter wouldnt be bad. Let's be realistic about our needs. I'd be happy with four bonafide starters and a fifth starter who you feel has at least a chance of turning in a decent performance. That alone would make it an improvement over the last two years of starter number five.

Update: Thanks to Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton (D) Charles Schumer (D) and Congressman Hinchey (D), the Army has dropped its billing request of the amputee soldier and chalked it up to a "billing snafu." Big ups to the soldiers' congressional reps for supporting the troops in their own constituency.

Very thoughtful. I respect the ACLU, but what keeps me from being a member is that sometimes, they selectively fight for certain aspects of rights without protecting all of them. That being said, they are a valuable asset to have when your rights are under attack. Just ask Rush Limbaugh.

I'm thinking more of the swing for the fences mentality that I kept seeing from him. I remember one game - vs. Detroit. When we've a guy on third base and two outs, I'd like to see someone swing for contact and get the guy on base home, rather than swing for the fences and pop out.

So if the NHL loses the season, will all the teams be able to survive? Or will times in marginal markets like Florida, San Jose, and dare I say it, Chicago be able to survive?

Hey, it was a long season - and my mind seems a little addled lately. Maybe I'm getting mad cow from the bad italian beef at the Phillies game I went to a couple months ago. I thought it was Carlos, I was thinking of - but then again I got so angry at so many players this year, its hard to keep track. I don't know how I feel about a CLee trade. I remember watching him this year and got the feeling he was turning into a SamMe clone. I got the feeling he was more interested in padding his own stats than getting us back in the division race. Did anyone else get the impression that something changed for the worse for him this year? Like he wasn't as hungry to win?

Let them have the whiny stars? I just want to win - and after this year, I got the impression that he was after "his" rather than the "teams."

So, will a partial NHL season save every team? Or are we still looking at the possibility of NHL contraction with just a half season of play?

You know what sucked most about the same sex marriage amendment in Michigan that passed? Beyond it passing, of course? It forces the state to basically violate every union contract providing same sex couple benefits starting on December 15th. Everything has unintended consequences.
