It's officially playing in one theatre in NYC and one in LA. Tried to get tickets tonight but all the showings in NYC were sold out. It gets full release on December 25. He hasn't really had time to get stale, like a Kevin Smith movie.
He started with Bottle Rocket, a funny stupid movie in 1994. Personally, I think when the stories and settings are completely different, the same grouping of actors stay fresh and compelling provided that the chemistry is right. Kevin Smith got stale because all the stories were the same, with similar characters and the same kinds of dialogue and story. Wes Anderson definitely doesn't do that.
Oh yeah, Owen Wilson cowrote this movie I'll wager. Like he did with Royal and Rocket.
