  1. I just hope the Bears don't sign Brady. That would be nearly as revolting as Favre in a Bear uni.
  2. I don't think he will, but I hope Brady retires. It would be interesting what BB does if that happens.
  3. You're not using full context. This is the same logic mistake that people use when arguing that the Panarin-Saad deal was bad. You people don't take all of the variables into account and fall into fan groupthink.
  4. Management already preparing Twin fans for disappointment hahaha. I'm not going to complain about Jerry being cheap anymore when the Pohlads are running the Twins. Jesus H. Christ what a bunch of misers. Jerry spends money, he just doesn't like to put it all in a few places.
  5. We'll have to agree to disagree. I think your takes on the subject are awful. You're not using your brain. You're letting the Bowman hate cloud your judgment. You're better than this, Tony.
  6. Colliton clearly didn't like him, and he was going to spend the season in Rockford if he didn't get traded. He's not helping the Hawks win now and he wouldn't be helping them win if he was here either. Regardless of whether or not the team was built to win games this year, injuries have decimated them and they weren't good enough anyway. Boqvist and Gilbert would have received the call ahead of him, and only now would he be with the Hawks after De Haan and Seabrook have been declared out for the season. You're out to lunch buddy. Everyone's whining about how Jokiharju is this huge loss, and I'm not seeing it. Especially with him being doghoused by Colliton. Chalk it up in the "it wouldn't have happened here" column with Teravainen. Jokiharju might be playing well, but it's not like he's helping the Sabres win games either.
  7. I'm not afraid to admit I'm wrong. I just think that it's ridiculous for you to declare the trade a disaster from the moment it was made. You have to let it play out. You don't know. I think that Boqvist and Mitchell are better prospects than Jokiharju. Most NHL scouts think so too. The truth is that Jokiharju was expendable. I don't think that he's this stud defenseman that they gave away for nothing. Would I have traded him for Nylander? No. But regardless of that, I did think that he was expendable before the trade. The Hawks are still super loaded with defensemen even if a couple of them are a couple years away(Regula/Vlasic) even without Jokiharju.
  8. I know he's doing well there. Still too early to tell. Surprisingly, Nylander has been better on D than scoring. It's part of what still gives me hope. Trading Jokiharju made sense, and still makes sense. Trading Jokiharju for Nylander doesn't make sense. Boqvist and Mitchell are still better prospects than Jokiharju. That's why Jokiharju got traded, whether you want to believe it or not. The Hawks were able to replace Jokiharju as a prospect by trading Perlini for Regula. It's a wash in the end. Regula is really underrated, and is (imo) a similar prospect to Jokiharju.
  9. I was arguing that you needed to let it play out and that declaring it a disaster, even right now is ridiculous. Nylander has talent. He hasn't put it all together yet. He's still a rookie. I will admit that it doesn't look good right now, and that Jokiharju was too much to pay for a reclamation project. However, making any sort of judgment about the trade is ridiculous until the end of next season. Rumor has it that they were shopping Jokiharju all summer and couldn't even get a late first rounder at the draft for him. His value wasn't that high around the league. Nobody, including myself, liked this deal when it went down. However, I'm at least willing to give Nylander a couple seasons to see what he can do before ripping Bowman to shreds.
  10. He completely disappeared after October. He had 10 points by the end of October, and has done nothing since.
  11. That's what they mean. Most damage in baseball comes off fastballs or an offspeed/breaking ball hanging over the plate. If pitchers were good enough to throw quality breakers consistently for strikes Baseball would cease to be a game because hitting would be futile.
  12. Yeah. Hahn has said that trading Tatis for Shields, and Tatis blowing up after the trade was the last straw that pushed Jerry to OK the rebuild. If the Sox didn't make that trade, there's a good chance that they hold on to Sale/Q/Eaton for another season and the trade market would have been worse for those guys with 2-4 years left instead of 3-5. They still would have received good players, but there's a good chance that the nucleus of this team isn't here with Tatis, and that includes Robert. If the Sox are carrying a 110M+ payroll in 2017, there's a good chance Jerry wouldn't have given the thumbs up to spend $52M on Robert. So in a way, think that the Sox traded Sale, Eaton, Quintana and Tatis for the 2016-17 Hauls. The Sox did excellent work grabbing Kopech and Cease before they blew up on prospect lists publicly, and buying low on Giolito after the prospect shine had lost its luster a bit.
  13. Go away buzzkillington. Only positive vibes allowed.
  14. Love the guys taking non-traditional Uni #s. I read an article on Robert and found that the origin of his "La Pantera" nickname is from Moncada.
  15. Sidney Crosby did it first. He was born on 8/7/87 wears #87 and has a 8.787 AAV on his contract.
  16. I'd rather they give Moncada some of that dough. Signing Betts would mean Moncada is a definite goner.
  17. Even if Mazara is his normal self, it's still a huge upgrade even if he hits .265/.315 /.780 with 20 -25 HR.
  18. This is the best all around player they've had in my lifetime. Can't let him get away. They didn't let Frank get away so I hope they treat Moncada with the same reverence.
  19. If you're going to go there, you have to wait another year, make sure he puts up 6 fWAR/162 again, and back up the Brinks truck.
  20. I'm more concerned about Moncada getting away than Giolito. If Moncada has a season better than last year, give him the deal that they offered Machado with 2 mutual options on the backend.
