  1. Everyone should hold their horses until Lindor is moved. Not trying to rain on everyone's parade or anything, but the AL is really tough this year. The only teams in the AL actually rebuilding are the Orioles, Tigers, Royals and Mariners.
  2. Even if Mazara puts up the 1.5 WAR that steamer projects him for, it's still better than the huge steaming pile of shit that was in RF last year. They had a -4.7 WAR between RF and DH. Between EE and Mazara, that's a net gain of 7.7 WAR at those two positions. Also, if the Indians keep Lindor, this season is going to be a rollercoaster. We're all going to need pepto bismol. The AL is tough. Just making the playoffs will be an accomplishment. I don't expect Boston to be that bad again. Every division has 3 good teams in it.
  3. This thread has aged horribly. I'm proud of myself for actually being positive in this thread.
  4. They get their protein shakes from this guy: Anyway, motherfuck the Twins. can someone make a Twins logo with 2 syringes? lol
  5. Check out twinsdaily.com. idk why the hyperlink isn't working.
  6. And did it without surrendering their 2nd round pick. They signed zero QO guys.
  7. Maybe not. I don't mind if they can get a stud reliever with control for him. Wasn't a huge fan of Collins anyway, just thought he needed a look. The hit tool is still very questionable. The lineup still lacks balance long-term. 6 regulars this year bat R, and 6 long-term if you replace EE with Vaughn next year. I'd rather them add Scooter Gennett than bring back Yolmer.
  8. A couple bullpen pieces. Of who's left, I'd like either Stammen/Hudson and McHugh. What's really nice about what they've done is that all of the big money will come off the books when guys need to start getting paid. Very nice planning by the Sox.
  9. Encarnacion hit his 34 HR in 109 games last year. Wowzas. I was thinking they might use him in 100-110 games with Collins getting the rest.
  10. They should just get Cam and keep Mitch for insurance if Cam gets hurt again. No 5th year option. Does anyone think the Vikings are going to actually play their guys this weekend? They're locked into the 6th seed. Also, the Raiders have an outside chance of making the playoffs.
  11. People still whine about it. I've been as guilty as anyone. We all need to put it behind us.
  12. Are we going to have to hear whining about Tatis Jr. for the next decade? I try to pretend the Sox never signed him and SD did. It's been nearly 3.5 years from the trade, we can stop whining now. He's gone and isn't coming back. I support Quin's idea to change either Tatis or Tatis Jr. to Voldemort via filter.
  13. The Umpires can negotiate a pay raise in return for acceptance of the automated strike zone. It's fairly simple. If their union isn't doing that for them their leader is a moron. The Umps have all of the leverage.
  14. I just got back from Rise of Skywalker, and I can say that this is tied with Rogue One for the best movie after the original trilogy. I agree with those that think the prequels get too much hate. Revenge of the Sith is a good movie. I actually really like that one. The only movies that I think are actually meh to bad are Attack of the Clones and the Last Jedi. (I like SW so much that I can't actually get myself to say any of them are bad. Just varying levels of meh) Even though I didn't like them, I still get enjoyment out of those two. I'm convinced the only reason people hate TPM is Jar Jar Binks. Just realize he's a goofy talking C3PO and the movie gets a lot better. Jar Jar and C3PO are basically the same character. One is a droid and one is a Gungan. Get over it.
  15. I can say definitively right now that if they can't re-sign Moncada that contract is a mistake.
  16. 1. Bullpen help 2. A platoon partner for Mazara and Collins.
  17. Anyone who doesn't understand that Abreu's contract is more about the long game with Moncada and Robert rather than Abreu himself is just b****ing to b****.
  18. What pitcher are you trading Vaughn for if you sign Castellanos?
  19. I think Castellanos will end up with something like 4/60.
  20. I'm just a little concerned about the impending Moncada/Giolito contracts. They have to fill a bullpen, but this is true: Should they sign Castellanos to a 4 year deal, Keuchel/Grandal/Castellanos will all come off right as Moncada/Giolito hit FA.
  21. If Castellanos's market has cratered to the point where he'd take a 1 or 2 year deal......Yes please. I don't want any 4 year deals. I prefer both financial and positional flexiblity for the Sox.
  22. I'd like to stick with what they have and make a DH addition at the TDL if they need one. I don't mind blocking Vaughn and using him as a trade chip, but like I said I'm higher on Mazara than most.
  23. Castellanos is also 27 so he's just entering his prime. He fits great with the window. It's hard. As someone who's not that big of a Vaughn fan, I don't mind it. I prefer him as a trade chip rather than a long-term piece. Go get a TOR starter with Vaughn as the centerpiece. He's a top 25 prospect.
  24. Yup, and then they have an awesome trade chip with Vaughn to go get another pitcher, should they need one. After watching that MLBN video, I'm pretty excited about Mazara. I've always liked him. I kind of don't want them spending money on Castellanos because they're going to need to lock up Giolito/Moncada (and possibly Mazara if he takes a step forward)
