  1. Loogys don't exist anymore, remember? You have to pitch to 3 batters now.
  2. Ew to Covey. There had to be a better option. Maybe a trade in the works? Nate Jones?
  3. Yeah, let's not turn Palka into Micah Hoffpauir. He was the Cubs version of Palka and their fans loved the guy during their rebuild.
  4. Draft pick makes it not doable. He's going back to Houston on a 1 year deal imo.
  5. TW was reasonable. TW 2014(released in 2013) for PS3 with Augusta National was literally the best golf game ever made. They ditched TW as the cover golfer after that one, lost the rights to Augusta, and then re branded it with McIlroy. I got so good at TW that I had to turn the sliders to the hardest settings in order to have a challenge. McIlroy sold so poorly that a PGA branded game hasn't been released since 2015. The only game that is active is TGC 2, where users make their own courses, and you have a general golfer that you play with. They had initially released it such that it was a single release with purchasable online content, but they killed it after 18 months.
  6. That shouldn't happen. If Moncada and Lopez become what we want them to be, they only have 4 seasons of control left after this year. I would hope there is more urgency than that.
  7. Yeah, I'd agree. Is finding out whether or not Banuelos is a thing worth another TiQuan Forbes? Probably.
  8. They're the only D that are a) good and b) rumored to be available via trade. Gardiner sucks, and I want no part of the contract that either he or Karlsson are going to get. While Gardiner and Karlsson are possible, the consequences could be disastrous. I don't want another Seabrook level albatross. Also, if they sign those two guys, they put their ability to keep Strome and DeBrincat in jeopardy.
  9. I completely agree with you, but we seem to be in a minority opinion. Most people think that the potential deadline return for Santana is more likely to be better than Banuelos becoming a thing, so you go with Santana. I think that Santana isn't ready so they should pitch him in the minors through the 1st week of May and give Banuelos those starts, and if he sucks they call up Santana. If Banuelos is good, then you have a decision to make.
  10. There are only two options: 1. Trade the young D for both Fowler and Trouba, and hope that you can hold on to Boqvist. 2. Wait for the young D to develop. There is no other plausible way to fix the D group.
  11. With regard to Machado, there are two plausible explanations: 1) Uncle Jerry put a cap on how much they could offer 2) Rick and Kenny didn't take the Padres seriously, and truly thought they had the best offer on the table until Machado took the Padres offer, which was actually better, and they're left holding their dick.
  12. All of your assumptions are correct. If Banuelos means never having to see Covey in a Sox uniform again sign me up.
  13. I'm hoping that everything that went wrong over the last 18 months goes right in 2019. Reverse Murphy's law. What can go right, will go right.
  14. I think that is actually likely this year. I think that Moncada, Anderson,Lopez and Giolito are all going to take a huge step forward. Despite the results with Giolito, I keep hearing that he's sitting at 95-96 this spring. I haven't completely punted on the guy.
  15. There are no decent golf video games anymore. The one that does still exist (The Golf Club) is so hard that you might as well go hit the course yourself. It makes no sense to play a video game when you could go to a real course and shoot the same score if you have any skill whatsoever. Most rounds on that game it is an accomplishment to break 85 on a par 72.
  16. Both Eloy and Yoan with 3 hits and a HR. Nice.
  17. Yeah, and I doubt he's ever going to do that again. If Hahn quit tomorrow, I believe his replacement would be a massive downgrade because JR gonna JR and KW gonna KW.
  18. Hahn's record has been mediocre, but again I think he's being hamstrung by ownership. Kenny is a different story. Keep that guy the fuck away from baseball decisions. I get why he has a job. KW has a job because he's Uncle Jerry's adopted son. So keep him involved in business only, and stay the fuck out of baseball decisions. Do I think Hahn has been good? Not really. But it is hard to blame him for everything with the constraints ownership puts on him. I honestly think he'd do better with a competent ownership group, and I have no idea why he hasn't resigned yet. He'd get another job in an instant if he quit. Out of the 3 headed monster in the front office, Hahn is the least to blame. Out of the 3 the guy who I think isn't a complete buffoon is Hahn. I don't think his scouts are the best, and I blame JR for that. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the braintrust of the Sox meet together. If Hahn is actually in agreement with the other two idiots, then he's just as much of a clown as they are. I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt because of the clowns that are his bosses. The only thing that makes me question Hahn's judgment is that he hasn't quit yet.
  19. Don't blame Hahn. He can only work with what Uncle Jerry allows him to work with. We know where the blame lies. This is 100% on Uncle Jerry. The Sox are screwed until there is new ownership, whenever or however that happens. Until then, we should all realize the Sox are going to operate like the Pirates and hope for the best. We have zero control over it, so make the best of a shitty situation. I just wish that because the Sox were going to operate like a small market team they'd do it like the A's and Rays do. Nope, instead we get Pirates.
  20. Each year, there is a point in the season where I swear off baseball(and all other sports) forever and say I'll never watch another game. It lasts about 10 days and then I realize how much I miss it. This is why the owners make so much fucking money, because we're all suckers. I'm beginning to think sports fandom is an addiction, and the majority of us need a 12 step program to get freed from it.
  21. Going into last season, he was the pitcher I was most excited about.
  22. This is a great post, very scary to think about alternate realities. To think that where they're at currently is a best case scenario, is sobering to say the least.
  23. I didn't think so, but I wasn't sure so I said nothing. I've looked stupid a few time lately responding to stuff with old info. And also, the Brewers traded pretty much everyone other than Braun around 2013. They were only in a position to add in 2017 because they had already torn it down. Thank you, try again. Even the jankees and Sawx did a mini-rebuild sometime within the last decade. There are exactly zero teams that are good currently that haven't gone through at least a 2-3 year rebuild of some sort.
  24. After 2017, I thought that Hansen had a chance to be better than Kopech or Cease.
