  1. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) Thank your lucky stars it wasn't baseball season - your Care Bears obsession could have led you down a terrible, terrible path.... haha, well lucky for me I was living in Sarasota and going to White Sox spring training games at Payne Park!
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) No suspension for Burrows: "After reviewing the incident, including speaking with the on-ice officials, I can find no conclusive evidence that Alex Burrows intentionally bit the finger of Patrice Bergeron." Are you f***ing kidding me? Did you watch the video? He had his finger near his mouth, he covered his face so no one could see, and he bit down. I'm not the type of fan who cries for suspensions but no suspension here is ridiculous. Even if Bergeron stuck his finger into Burrows mouth, that wouldnt cause a piercing of the finger to the point it started to bleed. You've got to get a good bite to make someone bleed through those hockey gloves.
  3. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) I hate all things Boston (stupid baked beans...), but I love the Bruins. I don't know why, exactly - probably because they were really good when I was a kid and I've always liked their uniforms. That's funny and is why I've been a Bruins fan since the late 80s. I grew up in Sarasota in the mid to late 80s so hockey was pretty foreign to me, especially at 7-8 years old. My parents went out and left us kids with a babysitter and my dad turned on tv to a hockey game that involved the Bruins and some other team. I picked the Bruins as my rooting interest because of the bear head on the shoulder reminded me of the Carebears and I was a big Carebears fan at that age.
  4. Anytime there is a scrum of some sort, I'm always nervous for Bergeron given his concussion history. Didnt think I'd have to be scared of him getting bit by another grown man.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) Also, if you have a good 10 minutes per game in the playoffs on a championship team, that can earn you a new contract. See Tim Thomas, Gortat, Hedo, etc. paging Jerome James....
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) It's a long ways off, but Brazil and Argentina are going to be awfully difficult to beat in 2014 Yeah but 2014 will be here soon enough. I cant believe how its already been a year since South Africa.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 31, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) The Wings have always wanted to move to the East but I'm not sure they will get chosen. Nashville, Dallas, or Columbus seem to make more sense, they can just take the Thrashers spot in the Southeast, the Wild can move into the Norris. I was discussing this on another forum with a Wings fan and he brings up Detroit being in the Eastern time zone as a reason why its a logical move. Plus he brought up Detroit being the best road attendance team as another reason. Detroit visiting Florida,Carolina,Islanders a couple of times a year is better than having Columbus,Dallas or Nashville traveling to those cities. I'd personally like to see Nashville move to the East. It would strengthen the Southeast Division without taking a big force out of the Western Conference.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Miami still hasn't sold out game 1. link?
  9. So does this mean in that the Wings will move to the East in 2 years?
  10. QUOTE (T R U @ May 30, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) I would still give it till the end of June.. there is really no rush, and we still have a lot of games with the Cubs, Nationals, Diamondbacks.. plus, if you make this kind of investment going "all in" you might as well try to give them as much time as you can before pulling the plug.. The problem is those teams you listed are saying the same things about this team. "Let's not sell just yet, we still have games with the XXXX,ZZZZ,White Sox, YYYYY...."
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 30, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) That Virginia team is unbelieveable. The fact that UNC swept them recently makes me think awfully highly of them too. National seeds rarely win this tournament though. I'm trying to figure out how UNC swept UVA. UNC must have had a hot weekend or something. Vandy also has an easy regional too.
  12. Virginia,UNC,FSU,South Carolina and Texas look to have an easy path to the Super Regionals.

    2011 TV Thread

Anyone else watch Sports Show With Norm Macdonald? It's just like his Weekend Updates segment from SNL. First time I've seen it and I am laughing a lot. I've always been a huge Norm fan.
  14. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:21 PM) watch the f***ing replay then......tell me when lebron comes down that he doesnt crush rose with his body then go back and watch the Drose Wade play. tell me that rose "takes his legs out" problem is when a play is total chaos, rarely does the refs call a foul when there is contact. if the play was well ran then maybe the refs call something.
  15. wow, missed my over total by 2 points. nice final possession there. idiots
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 26, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) Tate Forcier tried killing himself. something weird took place but its still early to say he tried kill himself. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog...rn=ncaaf-wp1928
  17. QUOTE (Felix @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:00 PM) How does this make any sense? Chicago is a large market that would draw well in the finals, and the idea that the refs are rigging it for Miami so the series would end earlier is just moronic. If anything, the refs would want Chicago to win tonight, so the series goes longer. No, the NBA wants Lebron in the finals. Chicago may be a bigger tv market but Miami would get more of the casual fans watching. And the refs would want Miami to win so they can get to 3 wins and almost assure them of being in the Finals. You let Miami get to 3-1, have Chicago win game 5 and let Miami finish it off in 6.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) I think Benfica still owns his rights...they just keep loaning him out every year. He just needs to play somewhere on a consistent basis. He's young enough where he could still develop some but his time and chances are running out. They still do but they couldnt find a team to loan him out to for the longest of time this past year.
  19. I dont mind giving Adu another shot here. Let him get some minutes against Panama and Guadeloupe and see what he can do. Bradley also might be seeing this as an investment. If Adu can play well this tournament, it might get the attention of some other lower level European teams so he wont have such a hard time finding a club for next fall.
  20. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 18, 2011 -> 12:32 AM) Man, Boston was thisclose to blowing that lead. TB had so many chances. They would have been in a huge hole. Seguin showing why he was #2 overall. Not to take anything away from the Lightning because they really brought it in the third but this is the second time this postseason the B's took a big lead into the third and mentally checked out. The other was Game 1 vs Philly where they lead 5-2 after two and they came out flat and Philly had plenty of chances to get back into it but couldnt get closer to 5-3 before Boston slammed the door in the final 5 minutes. I'm curious on how much of Seguin's success right now is from him being fresh from not playing in the first two rounds of the postseason.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 17, 2011 -> 11:15 PM) Tyler. Seguin. 2 career playoff games, 3 goals, 6 points. How about that Phil Kessel trade now? Unreal tonight. Wonder who Seguin takes the place of when/if Bergeron comes back.
