  1. If the Red Sox continue to fade, Papi will for sure lose out b/c he is a DH. I think the only shot Dye has at getting it is if we make the playoffs, b/c of the East Coast bias.
  2. I don't think he can play in SF next year, b/c he is going to have a lot of trouble playing in the field. He's best served as a DH in the AL, and I mentioned above that there are only possibly 9 teams w/ an opening at DH
  3. In all honesty, who is going to want him next year?? He can't play the OF any more, and would most likely serve as a DH. But of the AL clubs, about half are set at DH. White Sox: Thome Yankees: HGH/Matsui/Sheffield/Abrue/Damon/etc. Red Sox: Papi Tribe: Pronk Oakland: Big Frank (very likely) That leaves 9 teams, plus the Gaints. Would Toronto, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Kansas City, Minnesota, Detriot, LA, Seattle, or Texas sign him if he left SF??
  4. And you can cancel the post-game show.

    uh facebook?

I'm not going to update my profile until facebook gets rid of that feature

    uh facebook?

Great job, facebook!! The one thing I'm surprised about is that despite all the tinkering they do, they have never set it up to notify you by email when you get a PM. Go figure
  7. I hope he doesn't. He's the biggest cheater we've ever seen. On top of that, he's also a prick.
  8. DAM IT!!! We have the hardest schedule from here on out.
  9. He hit his 730 HR today. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  10. To me this is similar to what we suffered in August and September year. Only difference is the Tribe kept winning.
  11. Trades can also be made in September. The August 31 deadline is for playoff rosters
  12. I was watching Dye on Jim Rome is Burning on either Thursday or Friday, and Dye said he doesn't care as long as they make the playoffs.
  13. GOD DAM IT!!!! Every time we win, the Tigers win. Every time the Tigers lose, we lose. I just want to bang my head into a wall.
  14. Sorry, buddy. The Cubs are going to suck miserably in 2007. They will pretend to go after Soriano, Carlos Lee, Zito, and Schmidt to maintain public relations. They won't get them. Hendry will say he went after them and give his typical, "I feel short" crap. :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs
  15. It's stupid, letting the starters go 6-7-8 innings a game. And not only is he burning out the starters, but the bullpen will suffer from a lack of work.
  16. They are seriously overvaluing Neifi. He's supposed to give a guy a day off here and there, and provide late-innings defense, and he can't even do that. And the Tigers were so stupid, they picked up the rest of his contract as well.
  17. I guess, but if Neifi or Nevin deliever a winning hit against us, and knock us out, are you going to renew your conspiracies that Hendry did it to screw us?? Truth is, we shouldn't be complaining. I have the Cubs-Tigers thread bookmarked, and a lot of people in that thread were rooting for the Tigers over the Cubs. Same w/ the Cubs-Twins series. If we finish w/in 3 games of the Twins or Tigers, those who wanted them to bet the Cubs shouldn't complain, b/c it's what they wanted. They wanted them to sweep the Cubs, and they did. Hendry trading players to them is irrelevant. Do you think he'd even want to trade w/ the Sox?? Unless he got a good deal, he wouldn't. He's not THAT dumb. What we should be looking at is fans rooting for the Twins and Tigers to beat the Cubs, and even AJ wanting the Twins and Tigers to bet the Cubs. - Cuck the Fubs
  18. The "ex-Cubs" factor is all a bunch of crap. There's no such thing. Look at the Marlins: They're making a run for the wild card w/ 5 ex-Cubs on the pitching staff, and a manager who used to play for the Cubs.
  19. How about instead of b****ing about the Cubs giving the Twins and Tigers players, why don't we b**** at those who wanted the Twins and Tigers to sweep the Cubs, since they asked for it, and got it??
  20. I understand, but the difference was in 2005, we did not rely on the home run. Getting Thome was supposed to add power to the lineup, but still keep the speed. This team was supposed to be the 2000-04 hitting, plus the 2005 pitching. To me, it's just been a better version of the 2000-04 teams. If we had this kind of pitching last year, to go w/ the offense we had last year, we'd be prolly 20 games worse than we are.
  21. f***!! Whatever happened to not swinging for the fences!!?? They need to change that grinder ball rule that says never underestimate the power of power. It's got the power to destroy what the grinder ball was built on: The power of no power
