I remember that thread. My guess is that Thome's number would be some where in between. If he would get #35 (not likely), fans would light up the switchboard at the Cell.
-
Thanks for the memories Frank. I wish you could have played in the World Series, but to see you holding the trophy brought tears to my face. No one should ever again wear the number 35 for the White Sox, that is Frank's number.

I am also glad she is coming back.

Snubbed Gossage rips Hall of Fame voters
Baines3 replied to Pierzynski 12's topic in The Diamond Club
Gossage should be ticked off. He should have been selected before Sutter. Jim Rice was another one who should have been elected. -
I choose option 2. With baseball season fast approaching more and more people will be using the board. This is the best White Sox board I have seen.
-
I originally didn't like the choice but the more I think of it, I never heard his voice before and have to give him a chance.
-
I will be glad when baseball starts also. Spring training isn't far off, hopefully it will lead to the Sox winning it all again.
-
Heard on TV and read on the internet that Bruce Sutter was the only person elected to the Hall of Fame. I would think that Jim Rice certainly should have gotten in as well as Rich Gossage.
-
After looking at the stats for those 2, I am inclined to thnk that both will be a flop in our minor league system. As was mentioned earlier in the thread, Lopez had a pretty good year in 2003 I believe it was but seemed to have gone down hill ever since. Unless some good coaching at the minor league level might change things with them.
-
Does any one know what Lopez' stats were last year? Randolph must not be very good for the Cubs to want rid of him.
-
Originally I thought the Baltimore was getting the better of the deal, but the more I think of it, it's probably about all Patterson was worth.

IBAF threatens to revoke sanctioning of Classic

I am no expert on political stuff but I doubt very much if the WBC will take place. -
I am glad to hear that Buerhle won't be playing in the WBC. He's doing the right thing. Save his arm for the up coming season
-
After reading about the proposed trade on chicagosports.com, Patterson would be traded for a minor leaguer. The Cubs obivously aren't losing much in Patterson, sounds to me like Baltimore would be getting the better of the deal.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Did anyone actually read the posts, or did they just vote like me? I voted and read some of the posts! They were interesting.

QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) With the moves made this offseason, we are a more solid team coming into this season. If we escape having a major injury bug, I don't see how we don't make the playoffs this year. I got mine also. I really like it.

Dayn Perry's crystal ball. Yanks 2006 champs
Baines3 replied to southsideirish71's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yankees aren't going to win it all, they don't have the pitching. I have heard that same old story of the Yankee for years. The White Sox are too much for them. -
Happy New Year to everybody on Soxtalk. Also a big thank you to our beloved Chicago White Sox for making 2005 the greatest ever. Here's hoping for a repeat in 2006!! GO WHITE SOX!!
-
Being the defending Champions, alot of people will show up. $3 million is a lot but 2.5 should be a reasonable goal.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) As long as Selig is commish, MLB will never play regular season games in Vegas, imo. I also question that Selig would let MLB play in Las Vegas. As was previously posted it would never take off unless it was in a domed stadium, because of the heat.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 08:26 AM) Garland was going to get $7-8 million in arbitration, so in essence he received a 2 year $22 million extension. Contreras looking for the same money + 1 more year is far from unreasonable. He was the guy starting each playoff series, not Garland. If it were me I offer Contreras a 3 year deal or 2 years with an option year. He is a good pitcher and would be a big help at trying to repeat
-
Way to go Kenny!!! This is a big help. I didn't like the thoughts of possibly losing Garland in a trade. I hope Contreras is next to resign.

I originally saw that pic of the Wrigley Field sign on another message board not long after the World Series.

Which White Sox Postseason Moment Are You?
Baines3 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My pick is the final out of the World Series. -
I also think Harold Baines should get in. As for Ozzie, I would love to see him get in as a player but I sort of doubt if it will.
