  1. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ May 28, 2014 -> 02:45 PM) I saw that too, that makes no sense for the O's unless you are convinced that he is broken for good. Sounds like Cubs are scouting Gausman as well. I like Alexei to the Dodgers for Joc Pederson, Victor Gonzalez, and Zach Bird. Dodgers might make some sense, for Pederson though?? Idk about that. I think I'd throw on the Soxman mask and wear only body paint and a sock on my dong and run laps around the cell if they were able to get Pederson for Lexi even straight up.
  2. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 28, 2014 -> 01:31 PM) http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=...0&sort=20,d Yankees, Mariners and Brewers for starters. The Yankees make sense if the Sox wait till the offseason to move Lexi. This year though? Probably not. Would they be willing to play him at 2B for the rest of the year? Jeter ain't moving. I doubt the Brewers give up on Segura after last year. He's also been coming around lately, batting .375/.394/.500 the last 14 days. M's maybe, depends on how the view Miller/Franklin who I believe both were highly thought of going into the season. Giants loo like they may be a good fit. Brandon Crawford has been nothing special the last few years. Their minor leagues look pretty bad though. Susac looks really intriguing but with Flowers playing well I'm not sure the need for a C, as the main piece at least, isn't as high as it once was.
  3. So who are the potential suitors for Lexi? Looking through some of the depth charts of contending teams it looks like most of them have a guy there already. Sure this Lexi would be an upgrade over a lot of them but not big enough to give up a "Huge" package for him I'd say.
  4. Dumped Masterson in all 3 of my fantasy leagues( ), based on how my seasons have gone, he'll throw a shut out.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 27, 2014 -> 11:40 AM) You are joking, right? I assume you are a Nate Jones lover. Nate is not very good IMO. Using ERA to appeal to the back of the baseball card guys, and FIP to appeal to the saber guys.....(I know neither are the end all measuring stick but you get the point). Addison Reed-4.18 ERA/4.62 FIP Daniel Webb- 2.39/4.19 Jake Petricka- 1.57/4.06 Zach Putnam- 1.64/3.14 Then there's Lindstrom who sabermetrically is only slightly worse than Reed @ 3.32/4.68. Saying Reed would be the 4th or 5th best reliever is not that crazy to say.
  6. Am I the only one hoping for a Steph vs Brie match? It probably won't be any good but I am infatuated with Stephanie McMahon for whatever reason. Steph looks to be in great shape. Raw was meh overall, but I still like the overall talent of the roster. The Raws building up to Summer Slam should be much better. I for one actually like Adam Rose more than Bo Dallas for some reason. That damn song is always stuck in my head in a Chelsea Dagger sort of way. Oh, and I'm so getting some jungle fever for Alicia Fox.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ May 26, 2014 -> 11:48 AM) If Payne is there at 19, the Bulls better take him. I think he's perfect late first rounder. Only problem there would be if Mirotic comes over....Unless of course we trade Taj for Melo . That said, I always see people listing Melo as a PF when talking about this dream scenario. He's capable of playing the 3 right? Question....If and when they get rid of Boozer, assuming it's not in a trade for Melo/Love, how much cap money will they have to spend? Will it be the whole 16+? In said situation, where they can't get a "superstar" would you rather they sign a few guys on 1 year deals and hope to get a "superstar" the following year, or do you spend it all on a guy like Gordon Heyward who's not exactly a superstar but is a damn fine player.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2014 -> 10:44 PM) Allow me to vent. If he trades Beckham he better do a better job than the Addison Reed trade. Davidson appears to be a bust. Reed has 14 saves!!! It's like the Sox don't want to contend. How do you trade your only closer for Matt Davidson?? Ridiculous. The Sox would be in SO MUCH better shape right now; Hahn would be looking like a miracle worker right now if we had Reed. The Sox bullpen would be light years better just with a solid closer like Reed. If you trade Beckham, make it a good one, Hahn. Cause that Davidson trade totally pisses me off right now!! Bella trying to close out the Yankees two days ago was laughable. Sox should have won three of four vs. New York. Instead ... He may have 14 saves but past that (at least era wise) he's been no better than Lindstrom... who is now hurt....And the guy who probably had 2nd dibs a closer, Nate Jones, is also hurt. So the Sox are pretty much on closing option #3 here. How many teams out there if forced to use their 3rd different closer will be in a good situation? It's easy to say it hasn't worked in hindsight and without looking at all the sides to it, but that was absolutely a smart trade at the time. Not only did they get a guy who was viewed at the time as the #4 3B prospect in the league, but Hahn also seemingly had a plan for the bullpen. That plan, or so it appears, was to fill it with guys who don't give up the long ball. *STAT OF THE DAY* Addison Reed so far has given up 6 home runs in 22 innings. So far Lindstrom/Belly/Downs/Petrika/Putnam/Webb have given up a combined 6 HRs in 140 innings.
  9. Not really a rap fan, esp. when it's repetitive like this, but for those who've liked the Liptak videos I've occasionally posted in the past here is his latest.... He's my guy, grew up with him, so I'm just trying to throw his stuff out there.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 21, 2014 -> 07:12 PM) It's the sign of a pretty patient fanbase that sucked for a decade, won the lottery and got a superstar, had a small taste of success, and ever since has been told by management that it's not going to be THIS year, but NEXT year. And for probably 3, going on 4 seasons now, we're still waiting. Meanwhile other teams have made big moves and the Bulls have passed on moves, to keep with their future theory that as of yet has not materialized. But now most of us have finally had it with the "just wait until next year" nonsense. We want something to happen now. Gotcha. I still think it's a little overblown but whatever no need for me to explain why I think so, I'm sure it's already been said a million times since 2010.
  11. Man, do some of you guys ever get tired of bashing the Bulls FO? I don't follow basketball as much as I do baseball and football so maybe I'm missing something here, but the level of hate for them is ridiculous to me. I don't wanna rehash anything but ya, just wanted to throw that out there.
  12. Add me in to the Dunn supporter group. That said I probably wouldn't give him a QO, but I'd probably throw him something much less. Probably something in the 5-9M range. Everything, in my mind, hinges on whether or not they think Steverson has "fixed him". Same goes for Flowers and to a lesser extent(Because he has prospects behind him) Beckham. If Todd, and the rest of the organization think he's gotten through to those guys than I see no harm in keeping them around.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 20, 2014 -> 01:07 PM) I'd say Harper is probably one of the top 5 workers on the main roster at the moment. Cesaro, Bryan, Rollins in no particular order and Harper. That's just off the top of my head so I'm probably forgetting someone but he's terrific. All former indy guys I rave about I'm a big guy so I appreciate what Harper is able to do more than those other guys. Bryan has sadly "worn" on me a bit. He's still awesome though.
  14. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 20, 2014 -> 12:47 PM) I dont think the salaries for this would be close to working out and I also severely doubt the Wolves would even consider something like this. Ya, I really think one of Taj or Mirotic would have to go in a deal for Love. With Rubio running the point I think Mirotic might be a good pair with him and someone they'd like to have. Ideally something like something like Mirotic/Boozer/Butler/2 1R picks for Love/Brewer and they sign and trade Dante Cunningham to cover the difference (Boozer/Butler add up to ~18.9 Love/Brewer is ~20.4). Or perhaps a sign and trade for some scrub like AJ Price/Chris Johnson/Robbie Hummel Where is our resident TWolves fan to weigh in on this? Forget who it is.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 19, 2014 -> 10:04 PM) Luke Harper is AWESOME. Really hope there's a plan for him beyond the Wyatts. As a wrestler Harper>>>>Wyatt. Hands down my favorite guy to watch in the ring.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ May 19, 2014 -> 11:09 PM) Also, I believe Love and Derrick are friends - Rose would still be a draw for Love. Noah, too, for just about everyone I'd imagine This. Those 2 have already talked about playing together. I highly doubt not having Thibs changes that desire. If they could get the pieces for Love from moving Thibs, you do it. Any coach out there would love to coach a team that has Rose/Love/Noah. A Lionel Hollins or a Fred Hoiberg may not be Thibs, but the talent on that team(assuming healthy) makes up for it.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 19, 2014 -> 12:38 PM) Why do they call Marc Trestman the quarterback whisperer? Why do they call Dom Capers a defensive guru?
  18. So now for 2015(yes I'm randomly looking ahead) the Bears have..... QB-Cutler/Fales RB-Forte/Carey WR-Marshall/Jeffery/Wilson TE-Bennett/(Onubun) LT-Bushrod LG-Slauson C- ? RG-Long RT-Mills DE-Allen/Houston/Young DT-Ratliff/Ego/Sutton LB-Bostic/SMC/Greene/(Jones) CB-Jennings/Fuller/Frey SS- Mundy FS- Vereen All signed. They're also gonna have ~30M in cap space. If they get 3 of those LBs to step up and the rookies prove to be starting quality, that's an awful lot of money for not a lot of needs. Center is the only position not accounted for and I can almost guarantee the Bears resign Brian De La Puente to fill that roll. Just found that a little interesting. EDIT- And those are just the "key guys" right now they have 47 guys signed for next year.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ May 15, 2014 -> 09:44 PM) Sounds like DB out til SS. Prob stripped Monday. This whole Wrestlemania is jinxed despite being a good ppv. Speaking of SS, I read a rumor we might get Cesaro vs Lesner....uh...yes please
  20. Haven't been watching the last few weeks, looked to see what Gordon has done and he's been hitting well....Up to ~.280 for 3 HRs and 6 RBI so far this month.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 14, 2014 -> 01:27 PM) NBA and plethora of good coaches should not go together. Lionel Hollins Jeff Van Gundy Mark Jackson George Karl then you have guys like Steve Kerr Fred Hoiberg Kevin Ollie Ettore Messina Who may be good coaches in the NBA.
  22. With the plethora of good coaches out there I'd be all over trading Thibs for a lottery pick if someone wants to give it up. Give me Lionel Hollins and a lottery pick over Thibs all day.
  23. Has there still been any speculation of Micah to the OF?? I seem to remember that as a possibility.
  24. McShay calls Vereen the best pick of any team in the NFC North.
  25. For what was there I'd give the Bears a B+. I thought with Donald gone they shoulda grabbed a S but Phil apparently likes Conte and wants to give him a shot at winning his job. Fuller looks the part of a shutdown corner and that is always something a team needs. He drew comps to Tillman, so getting a year to learn from Tillman should be huge. Depending on the matchups I can see Jennings playing the slot with Fuller and Tillman on the outside. Depending on where you look they did really well with the DTs they drafted. Ourlads, which is run by a former scout and is said to be "The most respected source for the NFL draft" had Ego and Sutton ranked 4th and 5th in their DT rankings. Yes, Nix was ranked first, but the fact that they brought him in for a workout and passed on him tells me he wasn't a fit. Jernigan was ranked 3rd but he sadly went off the board a few picks before us. Carey was kind of a meh pick for me but Ourlads has him ranked as the top overall RB in the draft. I would have liked to see them wait a little later on RB but I can't argue with taking a guy who's talked about in some places as the top RB in the class. I was hyping up Vereen as a mid round gem for quite some time now. Love his size/strength/speed combo. Yes his short arms are a bit of a concern, but I look at Pryor, who a lot wanted, and see that his arms are just an inch longer while Vereen is an inch taller. So in a way it all kinda evens out. Fales I think is a perfect fit for a WCO. Good, quick release, leads his receivers well, great accuracy, not exactly a statue in the pocket, smart, goes through his progressions. Working with Trestman I think he has the chance to either A. Push Cutler outta town in 3 years or B. Should Cutler get hurt and he gets a chance to play he might end up being good trade bait. O'Donnell was the top ranked punter in the draft, maybe a bit of a reach, but as a 6R pick it doesn't hurt to get a guy who will contribute and fills a need. Leno Jr. is a versatile OL project for Kromer to get his hands on. Britton is back, but only for a year, this guy provides solid depth for now and into the future. Kromer has done more with less. Adding Christian Jones as a UDFA could also be a real good get if the Bears do end up moving Bostic to the outside to replace Briggs next year. He was one of the few LBs I actually liked in the draft. Not sure if anyones gonna touch Lyerla, but if someone adds him, I'm hoping it's the Bears, that'd just be the cherry on top of what I thought to be a fine draft.
