QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) Looking back at the last few pages, I realized something that had not been said and yet seemingly overdue. Blah blah blah, blah blah, blah blah blah blah, but, blah blah and blah to the blizzy blah blah! Edit: would like to dedicate a "POOP" to a certain someone. Chants "Kyyles gonna kill you..Kyyles gonna kill you....Kyyles gonna kill you" (As a wrestling fan Kyyle will get it)

What is the Sox fall back OF plan ?

Whatever happened to Alfredo Despaigne? I swear he defected last year. -
Has anyone ever bought prescription glasses online? They're super cheap, but how do you adjust them to your face? Will an eyeglass place do it even if you didn't buy them from them?
-
Really well put together. I don't remember much talk of him last year, but I'm now very intrigued, particularly after reading the same quote ss2k5 posted. Wonder if, as a pitcher coming out of college, he'll get fast tracked a bit.

QUOTE (Saufley @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) Honestly, if I were in sales and trying to maximize profits my decision would be to put all across the front. I guess you wouldn't? ? Some Sox/Cubs fans wouldn't want the other on their shirt. Or better yet.... I might actually get me that one.

What if they dont sign one of the big OF FA?

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) I also don't think we require "big" bounce back years to contend. A modest bounce back from LaRoche and Melky, and an ERA under 3 from Sale and we should at least be in the picture. Though I wouldn't feel comfortable with it, which is why we really need one of the Big 3. I tend to agree with this. A quick go through the results last year I saw they lost 42 games by 2 runs or less. Adding Crazier and Lawrie to the offensive blackholes that were 3B and 2B, plus moderately upgrading the catchers position is gonna go a long way into winning more of those close loses. Throw in a full year of Rodon, and potentially half a season from Fulmer as well.. I would obviously love to see Cespedes/Upton/Gordon or even Parra, but I don't think the off-season would be a failure like some suggest if they don't. -

QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Both should be top priority along with a QB its just depending on which they want to improve through draft, FA, or maybe even trade. But all three are absolutely number one priority and I cant place one over another at this point. I just cant. And that is what makes this such a difficult position for Pace and company. They are behind the eight ball that is behind a brick wall, so good luck to them on figuring this craziness out. Are you suggesting they move on from Jay next year? Highly doubt that happens if Gase is still around. They're in a position to get a lot done if the cards fall right. Boat loads of cash and a draft pick that currently sits at 10. -

Fowler makes a ton of sense if not for that damn QO. Would have loved to see him in the 2 spot and have 2 guys in him and Eaton getting on base at a good clip ahead of Abreu/Fraizer......Wouldn't hate to see them still go for him as he makes the lineup, and defense, a whole lot better, but prefer they stay away......Gimme Parra. -
Has Madden Mobile got any love on here? Pretty sure I have a legit addiction to this damn game.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) Exactly. Putting Upton behind Abreu would lengthen the lineup and bump Frazier down to 5 where he can think about that power instead of drawing walks, if that makes sense. I wonder if RV might use Abreu in the 2 again. Eaton CF Abreu 1B Cespedes RF/LF Fraizer 3B Melky RF/LF or LaRorche DH Lawrie 2B Melky or Laroche Catcher platoon Saladino SS I remember reading an article about having your best hitter bat 2nd. Also balances out the lineup a bit more.

Nate Jones re-signs with White Sox

I know the Sox have added to the offense, but it still isn't great. If the Sox win its gonna be on the strength of their pitching. Trading Robertson would make zero sense. Hell I'd rather add to the pen than subtract. -
An alternative to the White Sox market conundrum
2nd_city_saint787 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Good stuff Rabbit. I agree with everything sans maybe the going after a guy like Upton. Upton is young/good enough to justify losing the comp pick, IMO. Trading Q still leaves you with Sale-Rodon-Fulmer-EJ in the rotation for 2017. Come 2017 you also have Danks and LaRoache of the books, so even if one of Montas(who may be a closer), Danish, Guerrero, Adams, or even Beck aren't ready to step in, you have the money to go after a pitcher on a short term deal. Or like the article suggests, grab a pitcher to fill the hole for now, then flip him when one of those guys are ready. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 11:35 PM) We've got some good prospects. This is one trade where we might have to part with a good one. I don't really want to give up Rodon, but our organization finally has a handful of stud prospects. We might have to give up two good ones. If the Sox are waiting for all the prospects to become major-league ready, fine. But we've been led to believe this is not a rebuilding thing, but trying to win it. To win it ... I think my suggestion should actually make us a contender. Infield: Frazier, Lexi, Lawrie, Abreu. Outfield: Melky (ugh), Trayce, Eaton (Avi as fourth outfielder unless we can dump him) Hopefully sign a name outfielder. Catcher: The two stiffs. Don't like that position. DH: LaLob. Don't like him, but maybe Robin can at least reduce his at bats and have him be buzzkill only four days a week for the 12 mill? Pitcher: Ding. Ding. We have a winner! Great staff. You can't deny my 3 simple moves (Frazier in trade; resign Lexi; sign new outfielder) make the team contenders. The way the team is now?? Last place. Said "Great staff" becomes Sale-Q-Danks-EJ-? If you're really advocating trading Rodon for Frazier.

Viable Trade Candidates That Wont Cost Anderson or Fulmer?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) Blackmon had a hell of a season last year. Not sure he will come as cheaply as some of you might think... Blackmon scares me. Guy had a .695 OPS away from Coors last year and in his all star 2014 he hit .617 away from Coors. -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 03:25 PM) Until the Bears get inside linebackers that know how to read and react in the middle, the defensive line is irrelevant. The middle of the field from the LOS and 15 yards downfield is easy money. Obviously that's also a need. With the baseball offseason here and the Bears pretty much done I'm in offseason mode. Bears will have boatlods of money and think they make a splash. Harrison and Travathon are my guys. -

I've been pondering this for a bit and was wondering what other people thought Eddie Goldman has looked the part of a pass rusher since becoming a starter. The Bears run defense has again looked pretty bad. We always talk about the Bears needing a 5 tech who can get after the QB. What are you're thoughts on moving Goldman outside and going after Damon Harrison to help with the run defense? I've read that the Jets will be moving on in favor of resigning/franchising Wilkerson. Perhaps you can still go out and grab a 3rd starter on the line in the draft or in FA(Derek Wolfe?), but I think between Sutton and Ego you might already have that 3rd guy. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 02:53 PM) You are the only person I have heard or read that thinks that. Everything I have heard is that he has been amazing considering his lack of preparation at the position and he is only going to get better I think he could start there, like I said he hasn't been terrible week in and week out, but you know what you have with him at OG. I'm fine if they wanna leave him there, but I'd prefer to see him back at OG.
