QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 16, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) I don't think that will be as easy as you think I would be shocked if the Bears let him walk. I think it would be a huge mistake. -

So Charles Leno....is he a guy? Really haven't noticed him at all, which is a good thing. Same for Long. If those 2 are OTs, that's huge. Assuming they resign Alshon, and roll with Langford/Carey next year, an OG might be the only thing they need on offense. That would leave them with a lot of money and picks to really help the defense take yet another step forward. -
Trading both would be silly. Trading one still leaves you with Sale/Q-Rodon-Fulmer-EJ in 2 years when the Sox probably are closer to competing. If Fulmer pans out that front 3, whether it be with Sale or Q, can get you through the playoffs if the offense comes around. I would much rather trade Q but if you can get some ridiculous package from the Red Sox, who have the bullets, I would trade Sale all day long. IMO, Betts is gonna be one of the best players in the league sooner rather than later. If you can get Betts along with 3 or 4 other high upside guys (one being Swihart), do it.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 01:23 PM) What are the chances Cesaro upsets Reigns on RAW? Unless HHH interferes, 0% sadly. Would love to see Cesaro join the authority. Back in the day he was a smug suit wearing heel and that look would fit great in with the authority. HIGHLY doubt it happens though.

I really think the Bears can compete next year if free agency and the draft goes well. They need to hit on a corner, some sort of pass rusher (Either on the line or OLB), and an ILB or 2. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 11:30 AM) The Bears offense is ranked 25th in the NFL. How does that get someone a head coaching job? They've also missed Alshon for half the season (and White the whole season) and had a laughably bad offensive output in the game Clausen played. -

If Gase goes, hopefully Dowell Loggains stays. He's the guy who Jay has wanted to work with for a few years now, so he's more likely to stay vs going with Gase IMO. -
Freese may not be the answer, but really, who is out there that IS the answer? Fraizer is about the only guy out there that might realistically be traded and even he has some downfalls (cost to acquire, time till free agency).

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) How old is Howie Kendrick? It seems like he was with the Angels forever. This reeks of Orlando Hudson. I'll pass. Hudson had shown to be on the decline 2 years in a row before coming to Chicago. Howie has shown no such signs yet. -

I kinda hate going after a 2nd basemen with Micah and Sanchez here, but if the Sox are indeed trying to go for it, Kendrick makes a lot of sense. Getting a guy who can get on base at a fairly good rate in the 2 spot could pay dividends to the lineup. -
I was thinking more so if they were to trade Q. A lot of hit or miss with a back end of Fister-Danks-EJ, but if you can get a haul for Q it's something you have to consider.

What happened to Doug Fister last year? Is he a bounce back candidate or did he wreck his arm?

Sanchez was a SS in the minors right? Maybe they go that route. Sanchez got better as the season went on so maybe he gets a shot to continue that with Micah at 2B.....Or perhaps my preferred route, Sanchez at SS, Micah traded, and Howie Kendrick playing 2B. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 09:54 PM) Pretty sure Ball would back up Langford in this scenario Yeah, you're probably right. What's wrong with Ball? He had a pretty solid rookie year. Was bad last year, and now he's unemployed. You would think some team would have taken a shot on him hoping he's more of what we saw his rookie year vs last year. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 08:49 PM) Mortensen says Forte is out 2 games. Bears looking at Montee Ball. I hope they pass. It's the perfect time to see what you have in Langford. Hopefully he's just used as a backup -

Yeah, that deal doesn't make much sense for the 9ers. Giving up Davis and going from near the top of the 6/7 rounds to near the bottom of said rounds for a 6th round pick 2 years from now. That can't be right. Maybe we're reading it wrong and its.. Broncos get- Davis and 9ers 2016 7th round pick 49ers get- Broncos 2016 6th round pick and 2017 6th round pick. Still doesn't seem like a good deal for the 49ers. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 05:15 PM) Anyone know what the cap hit for cutting Cutler looks like after this year? I THINK its 13mill but I'm not positive. Fairly certain it's above 10 though. At this point I think it would be foolish to cut him and go after a QB in this meh class. This team is a lot closer to competing with Jay Cutler than with a rookie QB. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) Gonna be a year or two until they have actual talent on defense. A lot depends on free agency this year. A TON of interesting names that MIGHT hit free agency, and the Bears have the 2nd most cap room. Couple that with a good draft focused on the defensive side of the ball and they could be sitting pretty. -
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 06:04 PM) To understand Bill Maher all one has to do is see Religulous. Doesn't matter what you believe, just watch the man interact with people in the movie. The pompousness, the condescension. His main goal is to project a certain group of people as idiots. I guess I just don't think that is a good goal for a grown man to have, and somehow it's applauded. Think of the kids lol. FWIW, the only reason I brought up Maher is because I went full Greg and googled "Ben Carson is an idiot" and Bill Maher showed up. I recall Greg bringing him up to support one of his arguments so I thought it would be interesting to see how he responded.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 02:45 PM) Why is he an idiot? I've actually had mixed feelings on Maher thru the years. I love religion; he despises it. But I praised Maher for his take on something recently. I can't remember what it is now. Carson is Donald Trump off the steroids. Why not give Carson a chance? I wonder what Maher thinks of Hilly? There's no reason to support Hillary. Just be honest, Bill, and say it's her turn, she deserves it, coronate her, etc. She has nothing to offer this country as President. I'll be honest. I don't follow politics all that much outside of what I read here. Posters have called Ben Carson an idiot, so I went full Greg and googled "Ben Carson is an idiot" much like I believe you told people to Google "Hilary Clinton is a bad person" or whatever way you termed it. So, do like you told us to do and Google "Ben Carson is an idiot." Is saying Carson is Donald Trump off the steroids even a good thing? Again, just being honest about the fact that I don't follow politics all that much, but Bernie Sanders is the only one I like, and it bums me out that he seemingly has no chance.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 30, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) It's called passion. I'm passionate about many topics. Forgive me for caring. What are your thoughts on Bill Maher, a guy you praised in another argument in filibuster, calling your boy Ben Carson an idiot? I'm aware that Bill Maher also got shat on by other posters here, I just recall Greg really buttering him up as some highly respectable person so I just wanted to hear Greg's thoughts on it.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 07:38 AM) scs787, I have a hunch you have never seen Rosario play first base. Terrible is an understatement. That's why he was sent down mid season. He is actually worse at first than at catcher. I have not. I just remember him being terrible behind the plate, so I assumed this is what they had in mind. Touche. Perhaps he(Rosario) would be a target to replace LaRoche at DH?
