  1. Bulls are apparently interested in Thomas Robinson with speculation that it could be a large deal. http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2013...homas-robinson/ I'd assume the large deal would also have to include Carlos or Taj. Thibs gets the best out of his players and Robinson has a ton of talent.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) Bechkam running in looks like old Keystone cops footage. He trips over Reed's foot. Yup, if Addison wasn't such a badass and got out of the way Gordon probably catches that and people aren't calling for him to be benched.
  3. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 02:56 PM) I don't know if it means he HAS to make the move up now. Perhaps Curley needed a day off and they don't have another SS. Maybe someone with a better understanding of Kanny's depth can comment. Not that it really matters, but a middle infield of Micah-DeMichele would be absolutely terrible defensively. Can't be good for the pitching staff though. I've just been following Micah from an offensive stand point, don't know how awful his D is but he can work on that at any level. It's his bat that needs to be tested on the next level IMO. He's been batting too good for it not to be. I hope that DeMichele being moved to SS is the sign that this will happen....Maybe moving DeMichele in a trade as an add on would be the smart thing to do. Micah at this point needs to be pushed and looks to have higher potential than Joey.
  4. This thread is looking like some of the ones over on talkbears..yesh. Anyway, the subject that is getting over looked here for yesterdays games was DeMichelle getting moved to SS. This has to mean Micah is making the move up which excites me. He's my favorite player to follow right now.
  5. He was still really effective vs left hand hitters, if he gets cut outright then sign me up.
  6. Please tell me I'm not the only one who had to witness that history on a smart phone or worse because of a comcast(or other provider) outage?? My buddies TV and computers are lucky that I don't really follow hockey. If it was the Super Bowl and that s*** happened in the 4th quarter I woulda wrecked his s*** real quick.
  7. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 02:18 PM) You should really just stop thinking about the Bulls having any cap space. They have way too many big contracts to add another one via free agency. Also, Alex Len is a project that should end up being a pure center. Ya we went through this last year, guess I never learned my lesson. It just seems weird to me that we can dump 2 big contracts in Deng and Boozer and not be able to pick up 1 big contract in return. With Len, I've literally only seen youtube videos on him and read some scouting reports so I know close to nothing about him. From what little I've read and saw on youtube, and from what I know about Noah, I think one or the other can man the 4 spot. But with the apparent lack of cap space even with the amnesty of Boozer it would make little sense for them to take him over a McLemore/Porter/Oladipo.....Disregard that last post.
  8. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 02:13 PM) They do? Other than the rookie they'd likely draft with the pick that will be a downgrade, who are their other 2-guard/wing players? Hinrich? They'd still have the tax payer MLE as is, the only difference it would make is allowing them to pay about $5 million instead of 3. That's not exactly going to be the difference between Keith Bogans and Kobe Bryant. Moving Deng also doesn't "improve their financial flexibility" at all since he's an expiring contract. It's not a complete "white flag", but it clearly hurts their current team. Is there any hope of Teague making a Butler like jump? Wasn't the plan when signing Kirk to play him a bit at SG? Could we see a Rose/Teague PG duo with a ?/Hinrich SG duo?
  9. If they could amnesty Boozer, trade Deng, sign a SG then what about this Alex Len cat? Wouldn't Noah and Len give the Heat fits down low? They both seem athletic enough to play the 4 or the 5. Does trading Deng and using the amnesty on Boozer free up enough money to get a Mayo/Ellis/Evans/Derozan? Are any of those guys even a good pair with Rose? Edit- I guess doing all this before they see who is actually available via FA could be a bad move.
  10. Would you guys do Deng/#20/Bobcats pick for Clevelands #1?? Rose-Mclemore-Butler-Boozer-Noah could be a really solid starting 5. What would trading Deng do for the Bulls salary wise? Could they sign a good bench player, say a Gerald Henderson, and use the MLE on a big or a PG/SG depending what they wanna do with Kirk?
  11. It also depends on how the staff thinks of our other pitchers. If they think Q, Santiago, Danks or EJ can become a #2 pitcher and Jake can continue to pitch like an ace then I'd make a trade that significantly upgrades the offense.
  12. If it means getting a young impact bat I'd go for it. They've got a lot of games left this year to test potential closers out for next year when hopefully White Sox Baseball matters again.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 05:12 PM) Except that goes against EVERYTHING the Cardinals as an organization believe in. They're not under pressure to win another World Series like, say, the Cubs. St. Louis is definitely not in a position of desperation. I can agree with that and it's why I included the word "something" in my post. Not sure of any other team who can offer "something like that sans maybe the Rangers with Olt and Profar+ which I'd have to consider.
  14. If they can pull of something ridiculous like the trade someone suggested in another thread with the Cardinals then I'd have to think about it. Getting Tavarez CF, Adams 1B/DH, and Wong 2B (Beckham moving to 3B or SS) can potentially turn around this offense and still leave you with Peavy-Danks-Q-Santiago-Johnson/Axe/FA pickup. Nothing short of 2 young, cost controlled, ready, impact bats...and then some.
  15. I can believe that it was legit...losing to Orton makes no sense if hes supposed to get a title shot at MITB.
  16. QUOTE (MEANS @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 07:11 AM) eh...not my cup of tea, not really feeling it. That song is more R&B than he really is. He goes harder on most other tracks. He's only got a few tracks on youtube so I just chose my favorite. Here's his verse in another track (and an interview)
  17. Love the Cesaro/Colter alliance. Give him the push Swagger was getting. I also love that they gave Regal a match.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) I haven't seen the article, but I just don't understand why the Mets should trade a prospect for Rios. They aren't that close to contending, their stud pitchers are super young, so it's not like their window is closing. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/05/trad...-alex-rios.html I didn't read the hyper-link (last paragraph) until after my first post, thus the mix up between "interested" and "should be interested".
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 10:53 AM) Well I had a blast, crowd was amazing. I also thought Punk/Jericho was fantastic but I guess I'm alone on that one. And was I THAT drunk or did they try to pull off the double turn with Ziggler/Del-Rio? That's what everyone seems to think, I personally didn't see it that way. I thought he was just trying to get over with the Chicago crowd. Random storyline I thought up....Wouldn't it be pretty rad if RVD came back as a Heyman guy and this pisses Punk off because RVD is a stoner...Setting up a Punk RVD fued....If the PG WWE can even talk about pot extensively I think it would set up for some good mic work from punk. Like his wrestlerave promo years ago when he was fueding with Raven in ROH.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) If the Mets actually traded a prospect for Alex Rios, than their front office is even dumber than they appear. (which is hard to do) Well if they truly are interested in Rios (I misread the article, it says they SHOULD be interested in him) what would they give up if not prospects?
  21. The Mets are said to have interest in Rios....What would you guys think of a deal built around Wilmer Flores? 21 y.o. 3B prospect who's currently hitting over .300 in AAA with a .837 OPS....Kid still has room to grow and the fact that he's already made it to AAA is encouraging.....I would ask for some lower level talent as well.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 05:03 AM) I actually ordered it and didn't regret it. It was a good show. I did fall asleep during the 2nd stage though. Was so tired. I have it on DVR and will watch it after work. Punk/Jericho wasn't as good as the other 2 but fine. Was expecting something big to happen. I'm stoked about RVD returning. I too am stoked about RVD. Wonder who he feuds with. Really hoping it's Punk or Ziggler, someone who can carry him in his old age. The PPV to me was very meh, but I think that may have been because I watched it with a couple none wrestling fans who kinda ruined it for me...bad idea...but hey, they had beer lol.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) Jake, if you start to trade Rios and Peavy, you're basically giving up on next year also. When organizations get in trouble is when they try to rebuild while contending. It's very hard to look at the roster without Rios and Peavy and think this team can even sniff competing against the powerhouse Tigers. It depends what you get back. Jake was suggesting Mike Olt or a player of his caliber and readiness to contribute next year. If Olt plays like we all think he's capable of and you use the money saved to grab an impact bat or 2 then with this pitching you're set up to contend next year. just for the sake of argument Olt/Granderson/Morales > Rios/Morales or Rios/Granderson.
  24. I'd like to hear more opinions on my buddy Liptak (video I posted at the top of this page)....I'm not sure if I'm being a complete homer or not when I say I think he's pretty damn good.
