  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:13 PM) Nate Jones appears to be a changed man He's given up just a single ER and walk his last 10 innings....Him showing up again makes Jesse even more tradeable. Daniel Webb also looks like he can step in next year to take on a role as a RHer out of the pen.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) If you give up Peavy and Rios, it's unlikely one team would be willing to give up enough in return to make it worth it for the Sox. Olt and Andrus? Olt and Kinsler(to make up for the salary sent their way)?.......debated making that green
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) What "piece" would we be looking for? As Jake said earlier in this thread and I've said in another thread, Mike Olt makes a ton of sense for both teams. The Rangers are in need of an OFer and Olt is blocked at 3B by Beltre. By the time Beltre is gone Joey Gallo should be about ready to take over 3B for them.
  4. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) Tigers, Pirates, Rangers, Yankees, and Indians have all lost to the Astros as well....If we lose the series though, that's rock bottom.
  5. QUOTE (staxx @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) Did they lose when their ace struck out 14 and gave up no earned runs? Well no, but they did score 5 earned runs on Scherzer and 7 on a still pretty good Andy Pettite. Not sure which is more disheartening, getting blown up by the Stros or what happened yesterday.
  6. Tigers, Pirates, Rangers, Yankees, and Indians have all lost to the Astros as well....If we lose the series though, that's rock bottom.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) Where? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...dful-this-year/
  8. The fog couldn't have worked out better for my buddy Liptak....His debut CD is called Lost in the fog, so he was able to make a video in some legit fog last night....For any rap/r&b fans on the board check him out and spread the word. The lyrics in this song are incredible. He'll be playing at summerfest in Gary in front of 4 major record labels.
  9. Stringer just went yard again! 3 HRs in the last 2 games! (Only 1 all year)
  10. Stringer and Engel are both in action right now on ESPN (Engel) and ESPNU (Stringer). Danny Hayes will be playing tonight at 9pm on ESPN.
  11. What are Hawkins post injury numbers?
  12. My goodness, that's a lot of $$....I was thinking we'd need to trade off both Rios and Peavy to make signing Granderson and Morales possible. Looks like they can make that happen regardless....
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) IF we sell off, we are not adding Curtis Granderson in the off season. Depends what were selling for. If they're trading for young, cheap, impact players that should be ready next year then why not? Like say Rios for Olt and Peavy for another position player who will be ready to make an impact this/next year then go for it. If we can turn Peavy and Rios into Olt, Granderson, Morales, and another key bat then why not? I realize it's not a sure thing we can get both Granderson and Morales to sign
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 01:48 PM) DUH. Now you're copying the idea from a thread already started. I'll take Granderson in CF, Utley at 2B, Morales at 1B and McCann at catcher. GENIUS!!!! THEN, you can utilize your bullpen construction idea and nobody will argue with you because we're actually capable of contending with that line-up. Now all you have to do is go out and get JR to open up the pocketbook and convince them to play for the White Sox when we're going to finish this season with 84-88 losses at the current rate. To be fair he was going off what I said...But I see a DA/Marty type feud going on here.
  15. In a perfect world they can trade Rios for Olt. Peavy to the highest bidder. Then use the money saved to grab Granderson AND Morales. If Olt and Tank put it all together then they can compete next year. A new leadoff hitter and/or catcher would be nice to get in the Peavy deal or in a separate deal for Crain.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:24 PM) I was thinking when I wrote that that "mike Trout would certainly have fit into that description" but the Sox passed on him in favor of mitchell. The Angels got lucky and we got a guy who destroyed a leg. Wait, Trout was available when the Sox picked?
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:14 PM) Cesaro puts everyone over. Don't get it. He's great from what I've seen. Wwe wasting him, if u ask me. It wouldn't surprise me to see him win MITB. That seems like the way WWE gets guys over who don't have a real storyline. Speaking of MITB, (possible spoiler) supposedly the main event is already set in Cena vs Bryan....Seems too soon for Cena to drop the belt but I would absolutely love to see Bryan win with Cesaro taking MITB setting up for some classic matches....
  18. Weird to see Generico wrestling without his mask...Nice to see him get put over by Cesaro in his first match at NXT though.
  19. Really liking this Danish kid....Looks to be someone who could have a bit of a chip on his shoulder after reading this article about his father who was his coach before being sent to and dying in jail. http://tbo.com/list/news-columns/draft-day...ish-b82499461z1 A 0.00 era in 94 innings is rather amazing no matter what level of baseball you're playing.
  20. What about this Denney fellow? is he gone already?
  21. Don't have a clue about any of these guys but I see 3 catchers in the top 10 of players left....I know they're not gonna help us anytime soon but with the lack of a solid catching prospect in the system wouldn't it make sense to take one of em?
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 08:56 PM) We're only 6 back. IF we would have just went 2-6 and not lost 8 straight I would be feeling a lot better. Of course this team is still a mess. Wow, haven't looked at the standings in a week. I believe they were 4 games out before the losing streak correct? Hard to believe they only lost 2 games during the streak.....
  23. Throw in Trent Edwards and Jordan Palmer to the mix as well...Wasn't Edwards decent at one point?
  24. I really like the Colvin idea but if we acquire him to play CF then who leads off this year? I doubt they're going to bench Dunn so moving De Aza to LF and Tank to DH probably wouldn't work. Lexi has been showing off his wheels a tad bit more this season but I'm not so sure he'd be a good option to lead off. For next year though, if they're ok with moving Dayan to 1B/DH that would be pretty intriguing. I saw a poster ask if he's just a platoon player, his numbers last year would suggest not. He hit RHP much better to the tune of a .297 ba with a .891 ops but his numbers against LHP is at least respectable at .270/.752. Trade for Colvin then go grab McCann in FA and got to battle with a De Aza-Beckham-Rios-Dunn-Viciedo-Mccann-Colvin-Ramirez-Gillaspie lineup....Or potentially even swap Mccann and Dunn.
