Sounds like "Son of Teahen" to me

He's a former Indian, so that makes it possible.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) I would like to see the Sox go after Kerry Wood though. He can help fill that 7th and 8th inning set up role I agree-unload Linebrink and eat part of his salary and have Wood as poss replacement for Jenks
-
For you older fans, he reminds me a lot of Bert Campereris in his prime with the range, and smoothness

I dont recall them throwing at any Yankee batter-because they'd get one right back . How many Sox batters did they hit this year without payback?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) 3-18 in their last 21 playoff games. I know the MLB playoffs can be a crapshoot, but those numbers are a bit ridiculous, you would think they would win at least a third of them or so, just by the simple law of baseball averages. Easy-they didnt play us any of those games (2008 playoff game against us was technically regular season, they lost that too) -
Will we try to keep him by moving KW up?

Players who failed when it counts/against the Twins

The manager failed us too -
The one constant through all the years has been Nancy. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But Nancy has marked the time. She will be missed.

Jenks wants to pitch one more time in 2010

He'll be a New York Met next year -
The most optomistic never would have expected the record out of Garcia this year. It should have put us over the top. That said, he really ran out of gas and his record will not show that. At best, he's long relief next year with Pena out the door.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) Ozzie has this way of always trying to show folks he is the manager A bad one-Viciedo doesnt have a likeness to Brian Anderson, does he? -
Root for or against the Twins in the playoffs?

Against and !---! on Delmon Young -
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) Ozzie's plan to be more flexible at DH isn't a bad one. Thome was too one dimensionsal. Konerko-Thome-Dye in the middle of the order was like having three statues on the bases. The real problem is that Kotsay and Jones were terrible replacements for Thome, and Thome had a great year (which amplified the problem). I'd like to see the Sox re-sign Konerko and have Quentin and him share DH time and play part time in the field. Lose Kotsay, lose Jones, and get a little more athletic and flexible. Key here is at least they were "On the bases"

He'll get Pujols when he's 39

Funny thing is, the team gave up after a 7 game winning streak. I wonder what was said and by whom when they won the first 7 on that road trip and gained nothing because all the air was out of the balloon before that last 3 games against Minn. here. The way it is ending, its hard to remember that we were actually ahead at one time.
-
We went out and won the first seven games of a do or die road trip and gained virtually nothing. If they mentally ran out of gas, thats where it was. I do think our manager was intimidated by them and we dont know what was said in our locker room, but we were bullied by this team and never saw any inclination to push back-if for nothing else, but their own self-esteem for next year.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:13 AM) Maybe he will be healthy and ready for next year? Question is wether the Sox try to keep Manny past this season They wont-the clear need is a LEFT handed bat

Would have been nice to have Adam Dunn up in Manny's spot, huh? And our best hitter tonite, Alexei, had to bunt. -

Hit Cuddyer, Pitch around Thome -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:12 AM) Why not respond to my point! We were in it without Thome. Sox decided to not tamper with chemistry and add a player or two except a pitcher when we had a good one already in Huddy. THEY are in it because of Thome-we had control-and our management handed him to them, just like the division.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) Ifs, and would haves.... If we played 500 ball in April/May If we could beat teams in our division. If we didnt take a few series off against bad teams in August. The formula for winning the central is simple. Beat up on bad teams, play 500 ball against good teams, and beat your division. That is the formula for winning it. The only reason we are here is becaused we beat up on the NL and had a historic run due to that. Take a look at our record against the AL, and then look at our divisional record. We are the reason that we are in this peril at this point of the season. We have had a 7 to 8 game swing in the standings over the last month with the Twins. We had it, and we pissed it away. Hopefully someone can explain this offseason what the f*** the plan is. Because I don't see any direction from anyone. Whatever the plan, Guillen should have no say
