QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Pods is the worst batter I have ever seen against lefties. Mack's worse, IMO. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Trading Thome would be idiotic. The effect he has had on this offense this year is beyond incredible. But he's over a hundred years old! -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) The guy is 100 yrs old. How man more quality years do you think he has left? He's about thirty six, I think. He's not that old. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) I'll ask again since nobody answered before. If we get crushed this weekend, would you be angry at KW for having a white flag trade? Yes. -

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) What pisses me off most about Freddy is that he doesn't even seem to give a spiff when he's getting hammered. Freddy should only be allowed to smoke up if he goes out there and gives us 7 ip and 3 runs. Maybe that will motivate his lazy ass. I disagree there. I think it's obvious that Freddy cares. I think he's the most expressive on the mound for us. He just can't do anything about it. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) I would just like someone from the White Sox to explain the dramatic velocity loss Garcia has encountered. Is he hurt? Is he off the juice? Did he just get old? That and keep him away from the buffet table. It's incredible that the press doesn't press the Sox about it. -

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) so any ideas who are two new starters are going to be in the 2007 rotation? count, garland, bmac.... Uh, Jose Contreras says hi. He's not going anywhere. Buehrle probably isn't, either. --- No faith in Freddy. You know, I'd almost prefer it if Freddy got flipped with Mac, but imagine that miserable arm coming out of the pen! -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Brandon McCarthy, the 3rd best interview on the Sox (behind AJ/BA) is on Boers and Bernstein right now. Details when he's done, plz. -
QUOTE(spiderman @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) Don't hold your breath waiting for Barry Zito to come to the White Sox. My post says hello.

QUOTE(SnB @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) this is a huge 6 games for us right here. 4 wins has to be the minimum. I'm hoping for more, but I'm expecting about four wins. Freddy's gotta be able to handle the Royals in his next start after this one. Too bad Kansas City misses Vazquez -- them, and Cleveland, are his favorites. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 10:48 AM) Freddy, no more f***ing around with this season. No more wasted starts, no more collapses. Pitch like a man. Pitch like a world champ who has some pride. That's the thing that drives me insane about Garcia. Garcia was throwing hard against the Yankees, and shut them down (a little too late, but still). I was of the opinion that he's either off steroids, needs to have his shoulder examined, or needs a psychologist to tell him how stupid it is to decide to stop throwing a hard fastball. Except that I've been skeptical of that whole, "Personal choice" line of explanation. You're telling me it's his choice to give up five, six runs a game? But then he was throwing flames in New York, and I can't figure out what the hell is going on. -
I want this deal so bad, but I'm not holding my breath.

I don't like this game on paper. Garcia. Oy! -
Podsednik played relatively well this week, from what I recall offhand. I don't think he was too terribly bothered, or it didn't seem like it to me.

Something To Hope For The Next 2 Months

Uh, they won't be going wire to wire even if they hold onto the lead. They only took the lead in late May. haven't let go, but they still didn't go "wire to wire." I get your point. I think we can take the division, but at this point, the team itself should worry about winning its games and little else. -

QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) I've tried everything I did last year-including kissing a girl that I kissed right before we clinched in Detroit last September. That didnt work-but the kiss was good. How old was this girl, if you don't mind my asking? I ask because you're about fifty years old, says the profile, and I find the term "girl" to be a little odd in that scenario... -
