  1. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Pods has gotten on base 3 times today. Just saying.... Thought I'd help you out. http://www.wikihow.com/Be-a-Kansas-City-Royals-Fan
  2. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) Yah! Let's pay Juan Pierre 4.5 mil instead of bringing back Pods!!!! WOoooo. I hope he destroys us this year. Hey... if you're sick of the WhiteSox, there's lots of room on the Royals bandwagon. I'm sure they'd be happy to have you.
  3. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) Game ovah. Oh ye of little faith. Paulie!!! 2-2
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 11:11 AM) our minor leagues are horrendous right now....outside of AAA there is next to nothing that would net any value in trade You're connecting dots that don't really make sense. Guys in the low minors, unless they are top draft picks, don't usually net much value in trade. Period. Suggesting our minor leagues are horrible because of that is rather pointless. And most of our recent top draft picks moved through our organization very quickly and are in AAA. That's a good thing not a bad thing.
  5. Just saw this and it made me say 'hmmm'.... Manny got his 2,500th hit yesterday. Which means that over the course of their careers, Omar Vizquel has over 200 more hits than Manny. Just thought that was interesting.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Jones is awful in KF. KF... is that Killing Fields? Appropriate because our offense is killing us so far.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I'm watching the f***ing Royals game and they are pounding the f***ing ball. Ankiel has five hits in a row over 2 nights. Pounding the ball? They've got 1 run so far tonight. And they scored 4 runs last night... and 3 the night before. What's your definition of "pound"?
  8. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) "It's up to Scott Linebrink with the bases loaded and nobody out." Ohhhh dear god. Kill me now and help me avoid the agony. Note to God: Please ignore my previous request.
  9. "It's up to Scott Linebrink with the bases loaded and nobody out." Ohhhh dear god. Kill me now and help me avoid the agony.
  10. I don't understand that sacrifice by the Twins at all. They should have just had Span steal. Not much chance this battery could have prevented that. But I'll take the wasted out.
  11. Is the radar gun right today? If so, Freddy just threw a 93mph fastball to Hardy.
  12. So then... is there anyone who would still argue the reason BA couldn't make it in Chicago was because Ozzie hated him?
  13. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 07:08 AM) Didn't that come from that scout here a couple years back? Yes.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:10 PM) The Indians are a joke. I don't buy them putting up a fight. Although they might look different if Carmona (who has had a great spring) continues to throw the ball over the plate.
  15. Per Phil Rogers... *Infielder Jayson Nix and pitcher Sergio Santos are out of minor-league options and must clear waivers to be retained by the Sox if they don't make the opening day roster. *Infielder Brent Lillibridge and outfielder Alejandro De Aza have minor-league options and can be sent to Triple-A Charlotte. *Relievers Erick Threets and Greg Aquino signed Triple-A contracts and won't be lost to another team if they don't make the Sox's opening day roster.
  16. That was a helluva throw by the Angels' catcher.
  17. Beautiful breaking pitch by Danks to strike out Willits. I didn't think balls could break like that in Arizona.
  18. The Tigers have already squashed the rumor about being interested in a 2B. Fact is the Tigers are talking up Scott Sizemore like he's a ROY candidate. But he's had sort of a slow start this spring, which has reporters running around making up stories about their need for another 2B.
  19. Mark Kotsay should NOT be batting third for any competitive MLB team. Period. We should not be sitting around coming up with rationalizations for making an obviously bad baseball decision. And if Ozzie thinks it's a good idea, he should have his head examined.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 12:26 PM) Good to see both of those names in the lineup. Rios played in the AAA-game that Peavy pitched yesterday, too... got three hits.
  21. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Mar 27, 2010 -> 11:59 AM) I will say this again and repeatedly....when this organization wants to take the drafting and development of it's players seriously, that will be all right by me. Gordon Beckham and Dan Hudson say hello.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 27, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) Apparently the season really needs to start because people are freaking out. Nah... they're just practicing freaking out... building up their stamina... working on their freak-out techniques.
  23. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 27, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Is there a chance he might be more hurt than what is being let on? I think they know the problem... and that it isn't too bad. They just don't want to aggravate it. And why should they? Hell, I'd shut him down for the rest of spring training if necessary. Save him for the games that mean something.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 05:31 PM) You would have to think Northern Iowa has a real good shot to beat Lucas-less Michigan State. You'd also have to think Ohio State is going to win this region, barring some sort of choke, which would be very unexpected from this group. I'm guessing your bracket doesn't look very good after tonight.
  25. Juan Pierre with an assist. Threw a runner out at second. :0
