  1. Just getting in from seeing Lupe Fiasco @ the Congress. As usual, he didn't disappoint. IMO, it's crazy how much rap sounds with a live band. The show was filmed for a DVD, so I can't wait to pick that up. He also announced that his last album will be a triple-disc...insane.
  2. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) The ppv's are pretty worthless. Gabe was someone who really wasn't behind tv because he saw how tv killed ECW. Which in reality it didn't, just most wrestlers saw it as the holy grail and when it failed they we're done. I think the PPV's have been pretty good, better than anything WWE/TNA have put out actually. It's just hard to do PPV tapings, especially when they're taped a month or 2 in advance.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Man, when are the Grizz on TV? I cant wait to see Mayo, Gay and Conley run the break. Well i'd guess since just about everyone else plays tonight and there's a free week of NBA league pass...you could watch em run the break tonight.
  4. QUOTE (3E8 @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 07:29 PM) Download the Girl Talk album for free on myspace if you haven't already He's had it on his website since July or so.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) They have been doing PPVs. They need TV to bring in revenue if they wanna grow. That was another reason, if they were ever to do a TV show Gabe has been on the record as saying that he could never be able to book a TV program for ROH. Probably why they're going to a committee.
  6. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) You sound more positive about the change than most of what I've been reading online. The general feeling seems to be that the "change of direction" may well alienate the ROH crowd, who enjoy the current in-ring style and see ROH as an alternative to the TNA/WWE style of show. Eh, at first I was shocked because I think Gabe is probably one of the best bookers in the business. But after reading that Pearce has been working closely with Gabe over the last few months I think he'll be competent enough to do the job. I'll wait for him to start booking shows before I give judgement. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) Any word on why Gabe left? Adam Pearce is from Waukegan. Weird to see him around like he is. Gabe left because Cary Silkin (ROH Owner) was going to go towards more of a booking committee instead of just a main booker. He was going to keep Gabe on but Gabe didn't like the idea. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) He was fired. Talk has been stale booking, lower crowds, not seeing more growth in the company. The only negative thing i've read at all about Gabe is that he's VERY opinionated. That's the main reason Low Ki has never made a return to ROH.
  7. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 05:15 PM) Sapolsky. It's weird, but if it means TV, then it's a good thing. Gabe has done ROH since the beginning. Word is Pearce is gonna switch to an old school 70s style, clear cut heel/face, and shorter shows. Not WWE/TNA 2 minute match short, but trimming time from shows which ROH has needed for some time now.
  8. The only thing I don't agree with is the waiting until tomorrow night to finish the game. This is an obvious move that was assisted by the Fox network.
  9. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 04:46 PM) I'm running for President in 2024 to find out what I can on Aliens. I'll report back to soxtalk when I gain access to these secrets. Can I be your VP?
  10. Well regardless it's good to see the Cowboys back in the Win column.
  11. Would I be out of place to deem this an epic fail?
  12. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 10:48 AM) I thought yesterday's episode was the worst of the season. Worst? How the hell could you go wrong with Sinbad, Rob Thomas & rehab? Hilarity ensued all over that episode.
  13. UFC 90 tonight at the Allstate. Prediction time. Silva by TKO in the 2nd. I expect it to be similar to the Silva's fights against Franklin. Kos/Alves I see a tossup, all depends on who can work their gameplan. Dos Santos by decision. Griffin by decision. Maynard by decision.
  14. QUOTE (juddling @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 06:12 AM) I'm not sure if it's McMahon's fault or the writers fault (probably both) but I think wrrestling's biggest downfall is that there is a damn PPV every friggin' month and noone know how to build a storyline anymore. i remember back in the day (scratching my grey hair) when a there was only a few PPV's a year and everything built up for them. You had feuds that lasted 2,3 or even 4 months at a time building each week with each guy getting the upper hand and building some excitement for that Wrestlemania match. Now it's like...let's throw these two people together....give them a reason to feud...and end it in a month after the latest PPV. Granted, with all the young writers in the WWE now that might be all they know but still....i can't remember when the last time i watched a full WWE show on tv. every once in a while I'll stop and watch a moment in passing but that's it. I wouldn't even say it's the PPV's every month. McMahon doesn't like ideas that aren't his. If he would just go to the younger guys and say "How do you think this angle would play out, shoot me some ideas." Then McMahon would take those ideas to the writers. He's just out of touch. Hence why Miz/Morrison are THE best tag team they have and they're stuck in a meaningless role at the moment. While the champs Dibiase/Rhodes want to be known as the "young guns" but by their promos and wrestling style you'd think these guys were 38. I'd really wonder how things would be if Jericho never came back. Or I dunno have him and Punk feud over the title that Punk never actually lost.
  15. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 03:22 PM) Shows my interest level in the past 2 months If I didn't go to Raw back in August I probably wouldn't of even realized myself. Other than Smackdown, the WWE hasn't really been that good of a product lately.
  16. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 11:55 AM) My friends all want to dress up as a different kind of Mario. Which one should I be? Wario.
  17. MMA Weekly reports that EliteXC is closing up shop. And, another one bites the dust.
  18. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) During the Jericho/Batista Gauntlet match tonite, Mike Adamle either A: Said his lines too soon when Jericho came in to face Regal, or B : was practicing his lines on a live mic. Hey, when did Kane change his intro music? Kane's had his new music for about 2 months now.
  19. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 12:13 PM) I wore my '72 Dick Allen jersey last night. that thing is awesome. I almost forgot you had that. Is it still huge on you?
  20. QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) mrs. ripken jr. snake eyes.
  21. Decent event last night. Bisping won by pretty much "sticking and moving." Vera had another poor outing & Cane looked good as well. Can't wait to see Silva in action next Saturday.
  22. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Oh and our defense, is just awful ATM. Wade Phillips and Brian Stewart are both definitely on the hot-seat. Deservedly so. There's no excuse for letting St. Louis drop 34 & letting Stephen Jackson run wild.
