  1. Part of me expects a phil humber like regression.
  2. I was just about to ask about arrieta since I havent seen a cubs game in over a year. What changed for him last year? Those numbers are nothing like the rest of his career.
  3. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 02:17 PM) If Sox get Shark, JR HAS to make him cut his hair. That hair is a nightmare. ugggggh.
  4. Good lord that's bad. Worse than adam dunn 2011 bad.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 15, 2014 -> 01:43 PM) The length of the deal is risky of course, but I don't hate it. He's 25, not 31, you are getting his prime years. You are pretty much getting all his years. I don't think its as horrible as some do and I bet its a trade-able asset at some point.
  6. That was fun. Those HR derby shots really had no place among the others though.
  7. I think I'd prefer billy butler over the course of the entire contract.
  8. Mark Buehrle - available Roster spot for another lefty starter - occupied
  9. Why can't the white sox get tomas? I don't get it. They should just cut the guy a huge f***ing check. Boom, one more problem solved for a long while.
  10. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 06:35 PM) I understand what you are saying. totally out of the blue. my dislike is Royce Clayton and no matter what, I don't think anyone will come close to him. Why do you dislike him more than all others?
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 09:24 AM) Haha you might as well stop watching sports then. Sports are littered with bad guys. The 2005 White Sox had steroid users on the team and nobody really cared. If you could guarantee me that Melky would come here and solidify the lineup, I don't really care what means he takes to do that. I think you missed the mark on my reasoning. Are people in sports going to use drugs while on your favorite team? Yes, they are. The team really has no choice in the matter. When the team chooses to attract and acquire a proven cheat with a tens of millions of dollars that is entirely different. I understand that I have taken a hard stance on this but that's how I feel. I think of all the pitchers who were affected by Cabrera's cheating and it makes me sick. He likely contributed to the demise of some young pitchers careers while using PEDs. The consequences of his actions are far reaching and not easily defined.
  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 09:35 AM) Come on man, he didn't kill anyone. A lengthy, unpaid suspension that ultimately cost him literally millions of free agent dollars by putting his expected performance in doubt seems pretty reasonable to me. He should have been banned for life after the cover up scandal portion of it.
  13. How has Melky paid for what he did? A suspension? Whoopee. The only reason he admitted it was he was caught trying to cover it up, hilariously. I dont obsessively care about him outside of the sox, but I do not want to be put in a position where I'd be rooting against the white sox. So I would probably just not.
  14. If the sox purposely acquire an admitted steroid user via a large free agency contract, I'll probably not watch baseball anymore. Its one thing to take on prospects who are struggling to make the bigs. Its another entirely to recruit and reward a known cheater via huge contract.
  15. I want nothing to do with melky cabrera and his medicine cabinet.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 01:12 AM) Are you a Sabes guy? I'm telling you there are intangibles in sports like momentum and magic whether you guys believe it or not. The White Sox performance in 05 came out of nowhere in the playoffs/Series. Team has pretty much stunk since 05 and not been all that amazing before 05. Yes we make the playoffs every once in a while. I don't care what Sabes says about guys like Crede and Rowand and Pods. They are VITAL to teams. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96kwILL35ig
  17. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) I really want to see Baltimore advance, however, is there a reason that the idiot fans insist on scream-humming the bassline of Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes? There doesn't appear to be a specific in-game event that prompts it. Idiot Ravens fans also do this, I've noticed. Its a Detroit band too I believe. I hate this walker song that TBS keeps playing much more tbh.
  18. Hahaha. That was great. I just tuned in about a minute before young came up.
  19. Oh, how could I forget relievers. Yeah, the sox have some work to do, but most of these types of players are obtainable. They just have to pay.
  20. I agree with him. A very good to great off season and we are in the hunt for the playoffs. I don't worry about thirds base though. Good lefty bat, starting pitcher, outfielder. That's the priorities as I see them. Bye dayan.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 08:18 AM) While it is always the hitting coach's fault the team can't hit, just look at this: Greg Walker, idiot 2011 White Sox .252 avg. .319 OBP Jeff Manto, idiot 2013 White Sox .245 avg. 302 OBP Todd Steverson, genius 2014 White Sox .253 avg. .310 OBP 2014 White Sox without Jose Abreu .245 avg. 300 OBP When BJ Upton continues to suck, who will be the next to blame since Walker will be watching TV? If Hahn wants Steverson to really look good, the roster will have better hitters. What happened in 2012?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 04:25 PM) In other words, Sox fans will be back when the team wins... aka they are bandwagon fans. Call it what ever you want, I call it history. Sox fans have always been this way. I hate to agree with that statement, but I do. If there is little interest in the team unless they are winning, how can that mentality be described as anything other than bandwagon mentality? The white sox have some real passionate fans, but they also have disproportionate amount of casually interested band wagoners. I also believe that the passionate fans struggle to manage their expectations well enough to watch a young, losing team grow.
  23. Royals A's Pirates orioles nationals dodgers cardinals giants tigers I forgot someone. Put em in the middle.
  24. I'd prefer Leyland, but only if he gives up smoking over Ozzie, but 1 million dollar fine every time he decides to be ozzie.
