  1. I've grown to love Derby day... My lady graduated from SIU with an equine science degree, so she's all about the ponies. I like small time gambling so it works out. I've also never won anything on horse racing, but one of these years...
  2. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) WTF They threw out Sale??? His night may have been over already. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) Ventura won't get suspended at all just fined. I have no idea what sale did to get tossed other then yelling at yost. Volquez tried to knock out the Shark so I'd say he gets at least 5 games. The Shark was charging at someone so he might get 2 or 3 games. No idea what Cain did but he looked like he got his ass kicked by someone in that pile, he will people get a game or 2. Pitcher suspensions are typically in 5 game multiples so they miss starts. I'd bet Shark gets a fiver.
  3. What's the. Likelihood of suspensions?
  4. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:14 PM) I know I will. He is quickly becoming one of my least favorite players. Shame too, since he has a hell of a fastball
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) I missed it what happened? Eaton hit a rope back at Ventura, he snagged it and looked eaton in the eye and clearly said "F you"
  6. Phew! The sky isn't falling! I think this team is closer to the team we've seen over the last 3 games than the previous 4... At least I hope that's the truth.
  7. Jose had better start hitting like its 2014 or he's going to get a lot of hate this year.
  8. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 05:03 PM) Its got nothing on the Victory Auto Wreckers one... been on for like 30yrs lol Or Discount Tire.. That's a gem.
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) I'm at work wtf happened ont he double play? It developed slowly and it was broken up by a pretty good and clean slide.
  10. Rios could have jogged home.. What's with the Royals stopping guys at third?
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 11:43 AM) Alright, someone needs to hook me up with a streaming link while I decide if purchasing MLB.tv is worth it. It's 100% worth it. The only service issues I've ever had with it were related to my internet connection, and not MLB.tv. I'm a big follower of the Brewers and the Pirates and I'm able to watch all of their games in HD with no problems. The blackouts are annoying because I'd love to watch the Sox and Cubs through the service, but for an out of towner looking to watch the Sox, it's perfect.
  12. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 04:53 PM) Lets just do 8 teams, rotisserie If we do 8 teams, let's do deep rosters and/or deep benches so waivers aren't too easy.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 03:26 PM) I believe he has had multiple Tommy John surgeries. Correct. Two tommy johns and only a cup of coffee in the majors after his second.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 06:12 PM) Except, in order to be contenders, they probably need him in the rotation. Dichotomy. It's risky for a contender to put a completely unknown entity in the rotation. I'll be surprised if we don't see him starting by the middle of the summer, assuming he petforms in AAA and Dank's/Noesi aren't acting like aces.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 04:35 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 8m8 minutes ago Carlos Rodon's 19 strikeouts are tied with M's Taijuan Walker, A's Drew Pomeranz for Cactus League lead. Taijuan Walker has looked excellent this spring. If the White Sox didn't fancy themselves contenders, he'd be in the rotation getting experience.
  16. What does Dayan figure to get in arbitration? Melky, Eaton, and Avi figure to be the every day outfield, so what do we figure the payroll cap is on a 4th OF?
  17. There's a big bag of balloons in the left field concourse..
  18. Tigers get Soria from Rangers for 2 minor leaguers.
  19. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) It's a sign that he his HR totals may be due for regression. Not to say he isn't a 40+ HR hitter annually, but just in this current sample, slightly different circumstances could have led to less HRs. It's also a sign of the type of hitter he is. We have no other data like this to compare his results to. Some players hit more "sure shot" bombs, some players hit rising line-drives.. At least the line-drives turn into XBH instead of pop outs if they don't go over the walls. There are very few hitters who do what Abreu does, so I'm not surprised that "analysts" feel like he's due for a regression... There's no comparable to prove otherwise.
