  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) I would be surprised. I think you have to give notice to MLB months in advance to wear something during the season. Maybe they did this, but the AZ things on them make me think they wouldn't wear these during the season. Besides, they already have black tops. Many teams have worn their spring training unis or caps during e season. I believe they automatically become a part of their set, but since the spring training unis have always been kind of ugly, very few teams used them.
  2. I've often wondered what an '83/current hybrid would look like and it's everything I've ever dreamed of.
  3. I would try Pro Jersey Sports in Downers Grove or Grandstand on 35th. I'm sure they both do custom letters/numbers, just not sure what styles they have. I'd imagine you could get something done that you're pretty happy with.
  4. Feel free to give this a try. https://whitesox.survey-mlb.com/se.ashx?s=7...53217-829812803
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 15, 2015 -> 06:15 PM) So a grown ass man can grab stretch Sale figures that kids could have? I hope your attempt fails. Also, that's one of the two games that isn't available through the surveys.
  6. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Sep 15, 2015 -> 04:27 PM) Anyone have the link for the new sox survey? I want free tix! Surveys were linked to e-mail addresses this time, every e-mail had a unique link.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) The Sox are out of the race, they won't make the playoffs, etc. Game threads have gone down to My point is, I know we're not in the playoff race, but actually try to watch/follow/enjoy these final few weeks of Sox games, because a few months from now, we'll all be dying for White Sox baseball. I'm with this guy.
  8. I'll have a few extra Dyes and I have an extra Pods and Roger Bossard from 2011 if anyone's looking. Not looking for anyone's bank account in return, probably just shipping and a little kicker.
  9. I wonder if this is a preview to this being the Sox' Sunday throwback next year. That'll be 40 years since then , though, that year was pretty unremarkable.
  10. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 05:44 AM) Noticed the Cubs were on chanel 7 yesterday, and now Saturday as well....Have they had games on there all year or has 7 picked them up since they've shown to be good? ABC picked up 24 Cubs games before this season began, probably had something to do with WGN trying to move away from sports broadcasting.
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) Craig Biggio is what? Top 5 all time in doubles? How many times do you remember him showboating after hitting one? Zero. Because he has too much RESPECT for the GAME. That's why he's in the hall of fame and Melky is a roided up clown. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) "Gritty spark plug" These are the first 3 words of Craig Biggio's HOF plaque inscription, why? Because he took the game seriously, showed up to work everyday ready to give his all for the TEAM and the GAME, gritty spark plugs don't stir imaginary pansy drinks they just swat two baggers every f***ing day with their head down, never looking for extra attention. And to your second point: Melky's the only one who makes a spectacle of himself while stirring the drink. The others do it with far more class. So.. You like Craig Biggio. I don't understand the correlation with my original question. A lot of people show up to a job that they're good at and don't enjoy their time doing it because they're too busy "working hard" and being a "gritty spark plug." I'd rather enjoy my job, work hard while enjoying it, and maybe have an inside joke or two. I was just wondering if there was a story that I had missed behind Melky's sequence because it looks like FUN and I think FUN is very RESPECTFUL of a GAME and it's a NEAT and INTERESTING quirk about this TEAM that hasn't been extremely interesting this year. I suppose you didn't like this much either? Such utter contempt for the integrity of the holy sport of baseball. For Shame. We shall all become Angels fans now in support of the disrespect they encountered.
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) ...utter contempt for the integrity of the game. Big fan, eh?
  13. What's the story on Melky's celebration sequence? It starts with stir the drink, then he does an eye thing, then big arms, then even bigger arms.. Is there a story?
  14. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) If Sox offer Shark a QO ($16 Millionish), will he take it as a one year deal? Doubtful. He's bet on himself for long enough. This is the offseason he's been waiting for.
  15. This blows my mind. https://t.co/BMiRsOORGy
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Next three years for $65M is hell of a lot cheaper than he'd be on the open market. Oops. I'm a dummy. I thought he was a rental.
  17. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:14 PM) Boston will be cleaning house this offseason with their coaching staff. This looks like us the first couple months We were bad, but this is brutal.
  18. I liked that graphic about the Royals after 98 games last year.
  19. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) Source: Rangers nearing deal with Philadelphia for Cole Hamels. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/626570323178209281 I'm not sure I understand why Texas wants him.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) I think that Frank Thomas is getting better and better at doing TV work. I wouldn't be against him as a color guy for the TV broadcasts. Frank makes his money doing pre and post game work, I can't imagine him calling a whole game. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) AJ & Aaron Rowand would be two primary candidates. AJ would be a great get but I presume he'd rather get a national gig (and would probably be able to get it). I don't know if Rowand could but big difference between travel schedules, etc, between ocassional gig and any form of national gig. No idea how Crede is on a mic, but he'd be another guy. What about a Geoff Blum or Scotty Pods. He would have the personality and could have some interest, I suppose. Blum is a part time color guy for the Astros and he does a nice job. If they could work a deal for him to come and do the Sox TV broadcasts with Hawk, I'd be pleased with it. He seems very involved in this year's 10 year anniversary celebration and I heard he was a damn good interview for the Comcast special.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) There was not an issue. Hawk and DJ were must listen to tv by the end of their run. It was just the thought of pairing two chicago broadcasting legends together. Well.. That didn't work out so well. I'd love to see them swap back. DJ seems a little more modern, a little more dynamic. Stone was a nice balance to Farmer.
  22. Anyone think Hawk will start only calling home games with a new contract?
  23. What was the issue with Hawk and DJ together on TV and Stone on radio? I remember enjoying both combos.
  24. I'm starting to feel like Stone's engagement level is lower this year than it has been in the past. I don't have any specific examples, but there have been a few games that I've thought to myself that he's got one foot out the door.. Maybe he just had a couple of bad days.
