  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 09:19 AM) Coast Guard going on ESPN SportsCenter at 930. If anyone can watch and give a summary, that would be great. Key notes: 32 foot boat hit a Jetty and turned over, damage to the boat was pretty substantial (totaled). Boat was found between 3:15a and 3:30a. Speed was involved. Three total dead, all male, Jose was the only athlete. Nobody was wearing a life vest, no drugs or alcohol were found. The boat was not Jose's and he has been a passenger on that boat before.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 11:39 PM) Renting the Cell out for concerts is a dumb idea. Sox must need the money. It's a massive venue with ample parking and access via public transportation.. It's literally the perfect place to host a concert of this scale.
  3. When the Marlins sent Rae back to SD after his first appearance, I felt like something weird was up.. This pretty much confirms it. I don't know what the repercussions could be, but some additional salary relief wouldn't suck.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 07:05 AM) Pick two guys. Stefon Diggs, Julian Edelman or Allen Hurns for week one. Obviously A.J. Green is automatic, but for some reason I like Diggs alot with his playmaking even with Bradford at QB. Edelman also has a questionable QB (and I'm already starting Gronk) and Hurns is hit or miss every week. I'm leaning toward Diggs over Edelman, but I want to see everyone's opinions on it. I also have a flex option as well FYI, but I have Forte currently set there. (T.J Yeldon is intriguing too though..) Edelman and Hurns QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 02:51 PM) Guys, need help. Death is not an option. Do I start Rawls Or do I use one of Jay Ajayi or Arian Foster week 1. Seems like thread consensus is Rawls. I'd go Foster.. There's more certainty that he'll get the work and when he's healthy, he's the most talented of that group. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 04:03 PM) Flex starter advice (non-PPR, standard scoring): Spencer Ware or Donte Moncrief? Ware looks like the workhorse
  5. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 08:37 PM) We don't know. My numbers are probative, but prove nothing. But why take the chance for something as daft and ridiculous as home run derby? What's the priority? Fun and games, or winning a division? Frazier has just been getting his complete offensive game together. I will also point out that the rules changed last year to a time clock system, which requires significantly more energy. I guess not everyone takes a fun game like baseball as seriously as White Sox fans. While we're here, the time clock system is awesome and made the Home Run Derby enjoyable for the first time since Griffey and Thomas.
  6. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:36 PM) That wasn't the point being made at all. You referenced that he was "paid to be their ace" when trying to distinguish the expected return on investment on Shields, but so often those two values don't equate. So.. I feel like that's the point that I'm making, regardless of the point you were looking to make.
  7. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) He wasn't being paid as a #4 in San Diego, though. He was their Ace @ 66 IP, 32 ER giving up all the walks and jacks I already listed. Getting paid does not make someone an ace. s***, getting paid doesn't even necessarily mean you're any good at something, it just means you made an agreement to get paid.
  8. I'm not going to read through this thread (I've been around long enough to know how many people will hate this). I will only state, without opinion, the following for everyone's consideration: Jerry Sands and JB Shuck have recently batted DH for the White Sox.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Yordano Ventura continues to be a scum bag. Throws at Machado. Clearly intentional. Machado got him pretty good.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Yordano Ventura continues to be a scum bag. Throws at Machado. Clearly intentional. Came here to say this. What a scum bag.
  11. I just added 28 square feet to my family room by removing two closets. Up next is finishing the area, repainting and recarpeting the whole room and then installing a media center in the area that used to house the closets (pictured). I was able to knock out the closets in a day which was surprising, but I have a feeling the rest of the project will be more time consuming.
  12. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 29, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) Our bullpen. What happened. Straight fastballs get figured out pretty quickly.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 19, 2016 -> 11:06 PM) When the old post office inevitably goes into development hell, the Sox need to be all over it. That would be an absolute game changer for the White Sox Organization. The old post office seems to be living in development purgatory, so we have no idea when this will actually happen.
  14. Just picked up some tickets for tonight's game.. When you have the opportunity to see greatness right in front of you, you take that opportunity.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) Love the Saladino hitting 2nd on his hot streak and the no Sands. Good lineup Saladino has become a regular customer at the Peet's Coffee that I manage. Nice dude, I've come very fond of seeing him in the lineup, especially when I know he's caffeinated (saw him this morning).
  16. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) I was just on hold for 17 minutes then got disconnected. I'm trying again now. This s*** is unacceptable ‏@CSNChicago White Sox fans: Comcast/Xfinity homes are experiencing technical difficulties with CSN Ch. 200 & 201. Game 2 will begin at 8pm and... (1/2) ‏@CSNChicago We are working with Comcast Cable to resolve their issue in time for Game 2 of White Sox-Indians and apologize for the interruption. (2/2)
  17. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) Anyone else having issues with Comcast Sports Net? I live in the city (with Comcast cable) and the channel just isn't working right now. Really frustrating. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:37 PM) Agree. Was looking forward to watch the second half to the first game and the whole second game (time permitted) after work. Yup it's an issue with the network, seems like they know about the issue based on @CSNChicago's tweets.
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) This is bulls***. Anyone else have the game blacked out currently in their area? Yup.. Me too in Westmont.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:49 PM) So not only can I not watch the game because CSN f***ing sucks, but the Sox are blowing it too. Fantastic. f***ing fantastic. Same boat here.. WTF Comcast?!
  20. Let's remember that the Blackhawks were in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals at this point last year as well. The transition to baseball season happened much earlier this year. The Hawks going deep into the playoffs and winning the Stanley Cup is a great thing for the city of Chicago, but it eats into the White Sox TV time and, almost certainly, attendance.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ May 12, 2016 -> 10:11 AM) I kind of want to go to next thursdays game just for the melkman tshirts. Those shirts are awesome. Giveaways work. If the Sox were really desperate to get people in the seats, they'd do more bobbleheads, t-shirts, or other desirable giveaways on weekdays. Both of their bobbleheads this year are weekend games, making it easier for people to get the giveaway, but probably not driving an excessive amount of extra ticket sales.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 12, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) Still 27th in attendance TV ratings come first, then ticket purchases later in the season if they stay competitive.
  23. QUOTE (Tex @ May 12, 2016 -> 07:41 AM) Interesting. That seems like a huge jump. I'd say I've watched 80% more games this year than last year because it's not a surprise to see the team play well this year. I also have a better cable system, so I can watch from my iPad or computer via my cable contract; I'd imagine I'm not alone in that.
