4/30: White Sox at Twins, no crowd due to Age of Ultron
QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) Still trying to figure out why flowers is not calling for a slider Limiting sliders. Trying to keep Sale off the operating table.

I don't know why he didn't just blow Escobar away.

Can't blame that one on the umpire. Eaton should have probably caught it. He has made tougher catches.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 07:52 PM) I'd rather trade down, add a pick and take DeVante Parker instead of drafting White. Dan Pompei was on earlier and his sauces were telling him the Bears weren't getting offers to trade down.

This is bizarre. Stone is doing color, but there is no PBP. Hawk's mike must not be working and they don't know it.

If the Bears drafted Mariota and traded Cutler the same day, I think the vast majority of Bears fans would be doing an Irish jig, calling it one of the greatest days in team history. And it could be that the Bears have no interest moving up. There is going to be a lot of BS out there now in an attempt to lower or raise prices.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) Shayne L. Marsaw @wasram · 50m 50 minutes ago According to @RapSheet the @ChicagoBears are in contact with Titans to move up to 2nd overall to draft Mariota. #Bears #2015NFLDraft I really hope this isn't true. If they think he's going to be a franchise QB, if he is, it probably is a great move. Obviously, the cost is the key. I don't think people realize how hard it is to get a good QB. Jay Cutler has been the best QB in his draft by far. Pretty much everyone else was either bad to begin with or a bust like Leinart and Vince Young.

White Sox own best ERA since Apr 11
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 12:48 PM) You realize what you just set up to happen based on how this thread went yesterday, right? If Soxtalk posts were so powerful, the White Sox would be in first place, considering how many so and so sucks posts there are daily.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) Of course they should. But games you should win, in baseball, are like 60% events, not 99% or 100%. It also only represents about 0.7% of the season - this isn't football. You really don't see the huge leap from "we should win this game" to "I seriously question this team if they don't"? This team gets "seriously questioned" almost every AB of every game.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) There's been a few others that were decent: Orton, Cassell, Fitzpatrick, Foles, Cousins. Maybe Mallett. But your point remains. The fact that Orton is on your list and rightfully so, shows the problem. Orton was the Bears QB when the Bears QB wasn't good enough to get the Bears where they needed to go.. The Bears made the Super Bowl with Grossman, so it isn't like they can't win games and be really good without an elite QB, but it is no lay up getting one. And it is probably only going to get harder getting to where they want to be without one. Have they really ever had one? If you look at it objectively, you could easily conclude Cutler is the best QB they have ever had.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:23 AM) Here is a list of good qb's taken outside the first two rounds of the draft over the past ten years. Russell Wilson. Maybe Matt Schaub. He was pretty good for a few years. Plus the list of crap the first 2 rounds probably outnumbers the good QBs by quite a bit. The Bears are going to have to get lucky. There's a chance they won't be able to find anyone who is as good as Cutler for many years.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 08:52 PM) I guarantee Maddon's (Epstein's) not going to go into any replay situation without every possible resource/angle/feed available at his disposal. I guarantee Joe Maddon doesn't look at the replays before he decides whether to challenge.

John Danks
Danks has a higher k-rate than Samardjiza. That is pretty incredible.

White Sox own best ERA since Apr 11
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) Three days ago, the White Sox were on top of the world, best bullpen on earth, etc. Now we're back in the doldrums, Samardzija needs to be traded before the deadline, Ventura sucks because his team came out flat and the offense is in a malaise, Eaton's not the same player he was in 2014, Abreu can't field and LaRoche should be at 1B, etc. Total 180 degree change. Bullpen is nails. 3 innings, no runs, 1 hit. I pointed that out yesterday. No 180. Considering you prefer White Sox doom and gloom, the "doldrums" as you refer to them, should fuel you. And LMAO about the Samardjiza needs to be traded by the deadline. Go back in the Wainwright thread. You were the one who mentioned Samardjiza.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) I think Bennett is an explosive TE. I don't trade him unless we are talking about a 2nd round pick. I doubt we would get that, but if we could, i'm all for it. Your choice could be to pay him with a new contract based on last season, or trade him. Will he still be productive in a couple of years? Will his act wear thin? I have no idea, but he wants to get paid, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears aren't willing to give him more money or trade him, we will see a holdout.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) Except I would take last year's offense if I could, 13th in runs scored vs. 26th this year. That's not going to last. But it definitely is frustrating.
