  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 11:16 AM) Hahn's pity signing has already started 2 of 4 games. Great. He only scored a run and drove one in during the game he did play. Ventura must be an idiot .
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) I pointed it out the other day...the Angels won 96 last year--started the season 0-3 vs Seattle and got outscored 26-8. 0-3 sucks. It's not good, but the bigger picture is the 25 of 28 division games to start the season. 14-14 would be meh, but acceptable. Get after it on Friday. Baltimore started out 1-4 last year. Like you pointed oit, obviously you don't want to be 0-3, but it hardly is a big deal.
  3. The 1983 White Sox started 0-3 and won the division by a then record 20 games. The pitching has to pick ot up obviously, but 2 out of 3 games they would have had to have thrown a shutout to win, and last night it was the Flowers/Beckham show or another 1 run scored. Hitters have to start hitting, and you have to figure they will.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:22 PM) I know I'm in the minority, but I'm encouraged by what I've seen so far from the Sox, even with a possible 0-3 start. I'm not encouraged. But I'm not discouraged.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) Who's helping to beat us today. I think they would be ahead if I was playing in his place.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:09 PM) Don't you find it a bit ironic that Wilder and KW's chickens are STILL coming home to roost....this time against the White Sox? It wasn't bad enough that it destroyed our Dominican talent pipeline for a generation, lol. Now part of the Olympic 400M relay team of Gomes, Luis Silverio and Paulo Orlando is coming back to haunt us in reality. He's a 5th OF at best.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) Hopefully no one falls off Sale won't be there to jump off, so we have that.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) Perfect justice. Paulo Orlando's now getting revenge on his former organization. Rick Hahn's "basking in the sun" moment has lasted all of 15 minutes. Reality beckons. WTF?
  9. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Bring in Albers or Drebek to drill one of their guys next inning That would be a good role for Cleto.
  10. Maybe KW will take out the postgame spread again and call everyone b****es.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) I believe that was like in the 2nd week of the season also I was at the game. It wasn't a cheap one.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) Calling Eaton's first HR right here Considering he has 1 in a White Sox uniform, if you are correct, you're Batman.
  13. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) Embarrassing effort, considering Danks has given up just the 1 run. Volquez could pitch a 90 pitch CG SO at this rate. I think Maddux has something like a 76 pitch complete game shutout once.
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:25 PM) Sox had already stopped offering this when I went to purchase. Very upset. I wonder if they sold out of them. It's not like they could offer that many without it potentially being a problem.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) You weren't around the last two or three years, I guess. Kind of an "inside joke." Dick Allen's favorite historical topic is criticizing Don Cooper's "greatness" and/or praising Gordon Beckham. Your obsession with me is quite flattering. Give me an address, I'll send you an autographed photo.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:19 PM) Get swept by Royals and lose 2 of 3 to Minn .........April walkups are DOA Walk ups are a thing of the past anyway. The Sox claimed they sold 50% more tickets this offseason.
  17. So far this season, which is just about over for some, 2 of the White Sox biggest run producers have been Flowers and Beckham, and their best starter, Danks.
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:07 PM) I think he has enough gap to gap power to drive in Eaton-Melky-Abreu more often then LaRoche does. Why does the guy behind Abreu have to have a lot of power? We just need someone who will hit ball in the gaps and Garcia does that. A couple games into the 2005 season the White Sox RF was known as Jermaine Dead. Give LaRoche some time, he will be fine. Not only does he normally start out slowly, he has to get used to being a DH.
  19. Kentucky's top 7 scorers are going pro.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) KC's pitching coach has made me a believer. I don't know...he's given up some shots, and Duffy didn't look particularly good last night.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) He's obviously an avid viewer of the BRING IT ON series. Or Step Up, lol. I don't have the broadcast but I'm guessing he has a granddaughter or someone close involved.
  22. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) LOL Cheerleading is tougher then football, baseball, and basketball now. Ok Hawk. Try to do the splits, and do a flurry of flips, then make a human pyramid, and hold someone up over your head with your palms. He might have a point.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) That was on the CSN broadcast as well. He threw a 90 MPH fastball right before that. That should be encouraging, because I saw a lot of 91s when Samardzija was on the hill, so it probably isn't too jacked up.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 01:38 PM) Abreu and Laroche killed the ball. They caught both. Yes. There is no reason to pass on a pitch you can hit hard just to work a count. You may not get another anywhere near as good to hit.
  25. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 01:37 PM) How fast was Danks' fastball last year? It was usually in the upper 80s but he got it to 90-92 at least on the USCF gun the last month or so.
