  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) You guys can keep making up horses*** about how he is showing such a vast improvement...honestly, I hope you're right...but the result is the same week after week after week after week.... It doesn't happen as quickly as we all want it to, but it does happen.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 03:23 PM) Yes, his 11 walks are a real indicator of how selective he has become. Keep in mind no one is saying we should guillotine him. We're saying trade him. Carlos Lee walked 13 times in about 500 plate appearances as a 23 year old.
  3. Robin has an off day tomorrow. I don't agree with bring Floyd back this inning. The Sox will be lucky to still be in the game after this inning.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) It's an invalid excuse. Show me that you can f***ing learn and improve. Just like your boy Alex Rios did as a 27 year old in 2009 and a 29 year old in 2011?
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) One more inning? 109 pitches, you've been playing with fire for several innings. I think you're just asking for GAME OVER trotting him out there one more time.
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) Not a terrible outing after all He gave up 4 runs. Didn't you say yesterday that means he deserves to lose? Considering what had to happen to keep the total at 4 while only recording 15 outs, I'd say it was a terrible outing.
  7. That has to be it for Gavin. He was Houdini today to only give up 4.
  8. As bad as he's been, at this point he's given up less runs vs. NY than Quintana.
  9. I'm all for as many White Sox playing in the ASG as possible, except for pitchers and catchers. AJ not making it is a blessing.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:43 PM) I do not give Peavy much of a shot to be voted in................Darvish will get it IMO. Peavy getting rest is better off. He doesn't need the accolade.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) It's been pretty obvious. Every time Gavin drifts, coop comes out and reams him out. He then has success again until he drifts again. You and this Greg Walker bulls*** has gotten just as bad as the financial nonsense. I never mentioned the former hitting coach, but if he's not getting through to Gavin, how come its not his fault? You're the one spewing nonsense.
  12. I think Dunn could hit a pop up out of Yankee Stadium.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) That's why I hated hated hated to see mark go. He's like a pitching coach on the mound. The reality is most hated to see Buehrle go except for vendors.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) How the hell do you know this to be fact? What in the world are u talking about? Coop is God. Anything good from pitchers, its because of him. Anything bad, its quite obvious pitchers just aren't listening to him.
  15. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) Floyd is moving much quicker in this inning. as a result he seems to be placing his pitches much better. Most Sox pitchers pitch a lot better when they pitch at a brisk pace.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) He had a rep with the Phillies..........KW should of shipped his ass earlier. I agree, but got blasted for years having that opinion.
  17. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) He just has no approach at the plate except swing as hard as he can every time. There are times for that, but not always. Paulie is a great example of knowing when to swing hard and when to just swing for placement. It takes time. He's 23 years old.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) I guarantee Gavin isn't getting behind in the count because he's scared. Being behind is extra scary He has a reputation around baseball. Someone asked Jim Bowden earlier in the season about a Floyd/Youkilis trade, he commented, "no offense, but could you imagine Floyd in Boston". High profile situations aren't his bag baby.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) I guarantee Gavin isn't getting behind in the count because he's scared. Being behind is extra scary He's afraid of throw strikes. You try to be too fine, you find yourself behind in the count.
  20. Some guys just don't get better. Floyd appears to be one of those guys. I still think he'll go on a roll then be below average the last month and a half. He has a deer in headlights look to him all the time. I don't think this match up was so good for him.
  21. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) I think Hawk just called Gavin a stupid f***er without actually saying it. He's not known to have a very high IO.
  22. I wonder what Keith Law thinks.
  23. AJ deserved it, didn't get it, but its better for the White Sox he gets the time off.
  24. He deserves it, but I would rather he take the time off.
