  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) Not a terrible outing after all He gave up 4 runs. Didn't you say yesterday that means he deserves to lose? Considering what had to happen to keep the total at 4 while only recording 15 outs, I'd say it was a terrible outing.
  2. That has to be it for Gavin. He was Houdini today to only give up 4.
  3. As bad as he's been, at this point he's given up less runs vs. NY than Quintana.
  4. I'm all for as many White Sox playing in the ASG as possible, except for pitchers and catchers. AJ not making it is a blessing.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:43 PM) I do not give Peavy much of a shot to be voted in................Darvish will get it IMO. Peavy getting rest is better off. He doesn't need the accolade.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) It's been pretty obvious. Every time Gavin drifts, coop comes out and reams him out. He then has success again until he drifts again. You and this Greg Walker bulls*** has gotten just as bad as the financial nonsense. I never mentioned the former hitting coach, but if he's not getting through to Gavin, how come its not his fault? You're the one spewing nonsense.
  7. I think Dunn could hit a pop up out of Yankee Stadium.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) That's why I hated hated hated to see mark go. He's like a pitching coach on the mound. The reality is most hated to see Buehrle go except for vendors.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) How the hell do you know this to be fact? What in the world are u talking about? Coop is God. Anything good from pitchers, its because of him. Anything bad, its quite obvious pitchers just aren't listening to him.
  10. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) Floyd is moving much quicker in this inning. as a result he seems to be placing his pitches much better. Most Sox pitchers pitch a lot better when they pitch at a brisk pace.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) He had a rep with the Phillies..........KW should of shipped his ass earlier. I agree, but got blasted for years having that opinion.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) He just has no approach at the plate except swing as hard as he can every time. There are times for that, but not always. Paulie is a great example of knowing when to swing hard and when to just swing for placement. It takes time. He's 23 years old.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) I guarantee Gavin isn't getting behind in the count because he's scared. Being behind is extra scary He has a reputation around baseball. Someone asked Jim Bowden earlier in the season about a Floyd/Youkilis trade, he commented, "no offense, but could you imagine Floyd in Boston". High profile situations aren't his bag baby.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) I guarantee Gavin isn't getting behind in the count because he's scared. Being behind is extra scary He's afraid of throw strikes. You try to be too fine, you find yourself behind in the count.
  15. Some guys just don't get better. Floyd appears to be one of those guys. I still think he'll go on a roll then be below average the last month and a half. He has a deer in headlights look to him all the time. I don't think this match up was so good for him.
  16. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) I think Hawk just called Gavin a stupid f***er without actually saying it. He's not known to have a very high IO.
  17. I wonder what Keith Law thinks.
  18. AJ deserved it, didn't get it, but its better for the White Sox he gets the time off.
  19. He deserves it, but I would rather he take the time off.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) Yeah, hello... Punch AJ? Brooks gets a lot of s***, and some of it he probably deserves, but that campaign was genius.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:28 PM) Gavin Floyd is now on one of my fantasy teams. I hope that doesn't screw anything up. It looks like he's at the beginning of his annual 6 week role. Its a good time to pick him up. Don't forget to dump him when the time is right.
  22. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:23 PM) That pic of Eddie, makes me feel old. Keep in mind Eddie was looking a little bit older than his years. He had the Mickey Rourke facial surgery, put on a little weight, got ahold of Ronnie Woo Woo's dentist, and looks much better these days.
  23. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 11:23 AM) Random thought: Can we PLEASE bring back the "diamond sock" on the road jerseys. Nobody actually likes the change, do they? I've seen a couple people complain about this. It doesn't bother me one way or the other, but why not compromise and put a patch on each sleeve?
  24. 2009:13 2010: 5 2011:10 2012: 8
  25. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) Why would Peavy agree to any restructuring? If Sox won't pay the option then he'll go to the highest bidder like all baseball players do. Most likely, although the Sox have to pay him at least $4 million more no matter what. They may be able to work something out assuming he makes it through the season unscathed.
