  1. The Hawks season is a lot like the White Sox 2005. Fast start, dominating, then near the end of the season a rough patch where everyone was panicking, now rolling in the playoffs.
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 23, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) He has 5-tools and a nice pedigree, and i think he could be had for one of Jenks or Putz. We're not shooting for the stars here. He's pretty much a non prospect at this time. He's 26 years old. I don't think KW asking for him would hold up any deal, but I wouldn't expect much from him if he was acquired.
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 23, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) This might be pie in the sky thinking, but i want John Mayberry JR. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=460055 Why?
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 23, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) Here's a game to pass the time. Guess that current/former White Sox player by scouting report from draft day. Starting with a current Sox:" Strong, athletic physique. Well-defined legs and arms. Body like Alex Rodriguez. Wide, balanced, open stance. Good bat speed, plus power potential. Major League arm with carry. Smart player, good instincts with sure hands. Anticipates well at shortstop." Santos
  5. Maybe one of the reasons KC kept moving Teahen and not having him play 3B all the time was because he simply is a bad defensive (and offensive) 3B.
  6. Geez Hawk the Sox have the best 5th starter, the best bullpen the best this the best that, why is the record so bad?
  7. Freddy looks like he has lost a lot of weight.
  8. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 23, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) garcia outing wont be long today. he dosent look good at all. I agree. The Sox are most likely going to need someone from the bullpen to eat up multiple innings today.
  9. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 23, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) Should Teahen have had Hanley's shot at 3B? Seems like he never makes that play... It was a tough play. You can't blame him for not making it, but its something we have taken for granted with Crede and Ventura making them occassionally over the years. Only the top few defensive 3B are going to make that play even once in a while.
  10. Teahen seems like he's going to fall down playing 3B at least once a game.
  11. I have no idea how Ramirez didn't score there, but we will take it. Freddy getting tatooed early.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 23, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) Ugh, he went 0-4 yesterday and is hitting .203 That's hot by White Sox standards.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 21, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) It's always used as a joke, but the truth is Kenny is a gambler and that means he takes chances and sometimes they don't work. He's made some bad ones of late and those are really hard for me to swallow, but I have to resist the knee-jerk can-his-ass reaction. I see the logic in it, handing the keys over to Hahn or someone else. But I also know that gambler's have streaks, good and bad, and maybe this is just one of those bad ones that I have to ride out. At least I hope so. I will say KW for some reason was never given any responsibility with the Dave Wilder situation. That's one piece of history for which he should have had some accountablity. The prospects were suspects. He was paying way too much. Wilder was his buddy and he promoted him. That whole thing was really swept under the rug pretty well. I wonder if KW's star is still shining bright for JR. I know JR is very loyal but some bad teams, a scandal, and a payroll a lot higher than the results would indicate, may have JR at least questioning KW from time to time.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 21, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) How stupid is Joe Cowley that he can't figure out that this is a part of Kenny Williams job? I don't ever recall a Joe Cowley article on the plight of the Chicago Sun Times and what their steady spiral down the toilet has done to the quality of his newspaper. Why? BECAUSE IT IS HIS JOB TO SELL NEWSPAPERS, NOT TO BE HONEST. But then again I am sure when his mom tells me that "nothing is wrong" he believes her. Kenny Williams, nor anyone else in the organization, believes half of the stuff that they say on this topic. This is what they have to say. Anyone who can't figure that out deserves the Darwin Award that is in their future. I agree. KW coming out and telling the world his team sucks isn't going to happen, and it shouldn't happen. Maybe next Soxfest he can say the team sucked, but certainly not in May. The White Sox still have a lot of games to play, they need to sell some tickets, and even if the odds are stacked against them, there is still a chance they can make something of this year. I just wish KW would do something. I hate the KW speeches about his believing in the team as much as anyone, but I would never expect him to tell the truth. We know the truth. We know KW knows the truth. If the show bothers you, don't watch. It was interesting that Cowley, who recently ripped Rogers for watching games on TV instead of in person, wasn't at the park when KW made his speech. He probably was tweeting away in his mom's basement.
  15. The White Sox have been pretty consistent. They were 4-6 their first 10 games. They were 4-6 the 10 games after that. They were 4-6 the 10 games after that. They were 4-6 the 10 games after that.
  16. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) Great news everyone! The ground rule double is Hawk's excuse for the loss tonight. Peavy's coming out of this one clean. What was interesting was Stone and Hawk commenting on how little Peavy warmed up today. He gave up runs quickly. Maybe he was getting loose under the stands, but I would doubt it.
  17. I hope we don't hear how scoring 4 in the 8th will be a springboard to winning. Face it White Sox, you aren't good. Do something.
  18. The Sox are a lock to win this game. Fuentes is brutal.
  19. I can't believe they don't run on Pierre. He did get to it quickly but he's not going to make a good throw.
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) Why is Castro in? They ran for AJ in the 8th.
  21. The Sox don't lose many games when they score at least 4. If the Angels bring in Fuentes, they still have a good chance if they can keep them off the board here.
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Worst. Break. Ever. I can think of several other breaks that were worse, but it does suck. I think they should change the warning track to something softer. There are a ton of ground rule 2B at USCF.
  23. Jones is trying to hit everything he swings at 700 ft.
