There was very little chance of winning this game. Ever since Thornton had his elbow issue, he's been a lot more hittable.

There's actually an article about direct tv issues today on chicagotribune.com.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) Nice job by Gavin. Did anyone else have Directv issues today? No but have had DirectTv issues for a couple of weeks finally fixed on Saturday, but in our little townhouse community we have it coming through phone lines instead of cable lines so our issues are probably different.

What ever happened to Leo Mazzone?

2 men on Cabrera up and Floyd in the stretch. This sounds so bad it will probably result in 6-4-3

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) Any chance he can get stats back to his rookie season and we will call last year 'soph slump' ? He'll hit when its warm.

Olney: Sox to start trading away vets
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:35 PM) Part of that is because its his home park though. Familiar mound, landing spot, visual cues. Its easier to pitch at home in general. Its not all the dimensions. I agree. Most White Sox pitchers pitch better at home, in fact Floyd's ERA was 3.00 lower at the bandbox last year than on the road. It probably does help if its Petco, but Peavy is too good to be a bust as long as he's healthy.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) Farmer was blasting Gavin in the top of the 2nd there, saying how poorly his pitch selection was out of the stretch. He's always been better winding up. I'm just glad he didn't face Santiago out of the stretch.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) Wow, if you dont think Alexei has improve as a SS, check out that last play. Great range and a great throw. He's made spectacular plays from the get go. That's never been his problem.

Olney: Sox to start trading away vets
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) I think it's only a matter of time before things snap back into place for Mark. I think he'd rip the NL apart. Its possible, but since his perfect game in 25 starts he is 5-13 5.07 ERA with a WHIP approaching 1.50

QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 11:54 PM) In slight defense of KW I think he is probably holed up in the fortress of solitude plotting his team's attack on the 2010 Amateur Draft. Scouring the scouting reports for the next Kyle McCullough no doubt.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) It was....Hawk's love for Marson is reaching Randy Ruiz levels. I'm pretty sure Hawk would make porn with Sandy Alomar Jr.

Hawk said the Indians are grinders. No wonder why the Sox have problems with them. I wonder why everyone else has such an easy time.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) Well that an with him being at his lowest value I suppose it wouldn't make sense to try to deal him...but they can't keep putting him out there if he can't get out of 3 to 5 innings... I'm a big Buehrle fan, but something is not right, and its been too extended of a period to ignore. If someone wanted his contract, I'd take a bag of balls for him.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) So are people beginning to think it might not be so bad to maybe deal Buehrle? He has been awful since his perfect game.... You would have to try to find someone who would be willing to pay him $15 million per. Good luck with that.

Pena has been a 1 inning pitcher. He's been given a different role. He got through 2 fine, now struggling. This is not his fault if it all goes bad this inning.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) DA, why do you keep referring to Tuesday....do you just mean how pathetic they are that they can't win two in a row, or am I missing something? That's right. If they win today, there appears to be little chance of winning Tuesday.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) f***ing right Kotsay with the hit and Konerko with the hustle the fuse is lit boys, the fuse is lit Acata with the guillen impression leaving westbrook in way too long. This is just like 1983. Look for the Sox to win the division by 20 games.
