They have to pull him before this gets out of hand. They can score tonight, but probably not 10.

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:32 PM) Hahahaha Kotsay and Vizquel brilliant Its not like Randy Williams was on the mound, although it appear Omar was trying for the win. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) But what if your manager and GM refuse to hold people accountable...ie: Greg Walker The Walker crap is ridiculous. Look at the names and tell me how that is supposed to be a successful offense. The pitching on the other hand has been horrid, yet nothing about Don Cooper. Alexei Ramirez showing his enormous baseball IQ. I don't think having a dumb baseball player play SS is a good idea. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) Ozzie has done fine, Bolt. Have you ever heard the man's postgame pressers? He explains every move and they all make sense. The team SUCKS. The manager is fine. How did he explain Omar Vizquel DHing with Teahen playing 3B? I know Ozzie's english isn't the greatest, but I don't know how he could possibly make that make sense. -

Why are they throwing strikes when he's calling the pitches 4-12 inches off the outside corner a strike every time? -

If he's going to call that pitch a strike there is no need to throw anything over the plate. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:09 PM) That ws one of the worst strike calls I've ever seen. That was nowhere close to a strike. Maybe Hirschback has a hooker scheduled to arrive in his room at 11. -

I will say Oney Guillen is right about something, the food at Market sucks. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) All the statistical predictions had the Twins running away with the division, I'm pretty sure. The Sox PECOTA predictions was around .500, IIRC. This wasn't like 2006 where people really were proclaiming we had the greatest staff ever assembled. I read the Bill James book, he had every Sox starter with an ERA in the 4's. So hardly the greatest staff ever, although JR proclaimed it as a possibility. The pitching was supposed to be a lot better than its been, but its hard to build a team around pitching with a shabby defense. Some day KW will figure this out. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) I'm pretty shocked at how bad our pitching is. I'm surprised people aren't calling for the head of Don Cooper yet. I'm surprised some Soxtalk members haven't found a way to blame Greg Walker for the pitchers' inflated ERAs -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) With that contract and his history of inconsistent effort, he still has modest trade value at best IMO. I've been one of the biggest Rios skeptics around, but unless the Sox have some replacement that's not a huge question mark, ie. Jordan Danks, or Mitchell or trying to win a bidding war for a free agent, trading him for prospects unless they are surefire really doesn't make sense., and I agree, I don't believe his value is as high as many think it is for the reasons you mentioned. Tyler Flowers and Jordan Danks performances make this season even a bigger disaster. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) Ozzie fired, KW takes a President of Baseball Operations type role? I don't see the point of giving KW a role like that. Either you want him making the decisions or you don't. If you don't let him go home. -

All the Randy Williams slamming is warranted, and I wasn't in the thread earlier, but seriously what's up with Buehrle? He's been pretty awful for almost a year now. -

Another bad start makes Ozzie use his bullpen too much. White Sox starters with the worst ERA in the AL. I thought they were supposed to be one of the greatest rotations ever assembled. -
Lillibridge "removed" from Charlotte roster...
Dick Allen replied to JPN366's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 31, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Good for Lillibridge if this is true. He's earned it. A 26 year old in his 4th year in AAA hitting .270 with a .331 OBP and 13 errors has earned it? I think it just shows the lack of depth in the White Sox organization. He won't help unless he's used exclusively as a pinch runner. -
QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 31, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) I still don't grasp how 2009 was a bad year for Viciedo. How is Viciedo defensively at 1B? I think people really underestimate the amount of errors Konerko has saved White Sox infielders the past couple of seasons. If Konerko leaves and the White Sox have a guy who really can't pick it at 1B, they will definitely need a new 3B and probably SS if Alexei can't get his head out of his ass.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 29, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) Twins score six to blow open game with the Rangers, now 8-2. Well, the positive of that is that the Rangers will become more and more desperate to trade with someone in the next 2 months. They just filed for bankrupcy and their creditors are making plays of their own. It will be interesting to see how long this delays their sale. I would imagine they won't be picking up money until that happens.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 27, 2010 -> 10:47 AM) Just heard on the Score that D-Wade says the Bulls aren't loyal and that loyalty is important to him because he's a loyal person. He uses Pippen and Jordan not being around the organization as an excuse. Really Dwyane? Really? Maybe M.J. could have been a little more loyal and not have retired at age 34 and then come back three years later to another team. Maybe you shouldn't call yourself loyal because you're obviously not the cleanest guy around when it comes to marriage. If Wade is so loyal, how come he hasn't re-signed with Miami yet?
-
QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ May 28, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) I totally agree with you. It really bugs me how he's shaking off AJ as well. Maybe he's making bad pitch choices, but I'd rather have a pitcher throw the pitch he wants to throw rather than throw what the catcher asks for if he truly isn't in to throwing it in that situation.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 28, 2010 -> 07:02 PM) Lack of playing time might do that for you... And playing like he's playing leads to a lack of playing time. He's a reserve. Fair or not, he needs to make the most of his opportunities or he'll wind up playing softball with Eric Byrnes, except he doesn't have the bank to fall back on that Byrnes does.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 27, 2010 -> 08:52 PM) spoke too soon. Danks delivered his whiff. He'll fit right in. Yeah, I was going to say you can cancel the postgame show. At least Flowers has fanned 3 times tonight. Its really scary how much the Sox propped those two up and how awful they are hitting. I really hope Gary Ward is not in their ears.
-
QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 27, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) Agreed. Easily the worst ad campaign in the last few years. Yeah I always wondered if Hawk wrote some of the commercials. "When you join the White Sox, you don't join a team, you join a mindset." Then they go on and speak about the White Sox organization like they have had a Yankee like history. That's so Hawk.

Flowers and Jordan Danks have only added to the misery of this season. Hopefully they can turn it around and amount to something. Danks 2 I've always had my doubts about, but I thought Flowers had a great chance to be a decent hitter, maybe a Mickey Tettleton type. He has some work to do.
