Don't throw him a strike. He'll chase a bad pitch these days a lot more than in the halcyon days.

The game has sweep written all over it.

Considering the huge toll the White Sox organization apparently believes the extra playoff games put on players, its amazing they want anyone to play winter ball.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) Nice double for Anderson. 3 doubles in 2 games for BA. He's going to hit his way right to the bench again.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) I'd like to see BMac in soon. I don't know what happened with Jose but we can't risk it. If it was a cramp, as it appears, this little break should be enough to where he can continue.

Frank's contract negotiations this offseason should be interesting.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) Prancer cant advance on a ball thrown into centerfield. He never does. He has no baseball instincts.

How many teams would Pods really start for?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) LOL. Of course, Pierzynski defies my post and hits a HR. Now you can question the move to send Gload. Only appropriate. I bet the White Sox are hitting .800 after having guys thrown out ruins innings.

With the runner thrown out at home, it was a lock AJ would be hitterish.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:21 PM) That's about the 10th time Kotsay's thrown out a Sox runner on the bases. BTW, did anyone hear Hawk and DJ's disgust regarding how Ozzie was bashing Frank prior to this series? Ozzie's act is entertaining when everything is working out. He gets exposed as a very immature loudmouth when things don't go the Sox way.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) Those decisions often are the baserunners. A third base coach will tell him not to go.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) What are the chances the Media turns on Ozzie, Ozzie says some really stupid s***, and Kenny fires him for his dumbass mouth? I hope the chances are good. I think KW has been as perplexed as a lot of us have been with some of Ozzie's decisions this year. I don't think he'll ever fire him for performance, but I have the feeling if some of these decisions continue, he wouldn't mind Ozzie saying something stupid enough where he had to go.

I hope KW has enough balls this offseason to tell Ozzie Cora cannot coach 3B.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) Sox are in an odd spot. Kenny could go balls out, try to win this thing again next year and maybe in 08, then things could get really ugly in 09. Or, you could kinda downgrade next season, but trade a few guys that have alot of value(Contreras, maybe Mark, maybe Thome) and get some great young talent back, see what you have for 08. I dont see Kenny doing the latter, but who knows. Contreras, Garcia, Buerhle and Vazquez would definitely be on the block if I were GM. I think I would need to get the most for Buerhle. Vazquez could fetch a lot if people think he's really turned a corner. I still think he's a tease, because he can't give you 8 innings.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) Our #1 off-season priority: get Thome healthy. Our #2 priority: make sure Thome isn't your best player next season (I mean, I heard it's great though that we're so dependent on a 36 yr old slugger). I think the #1 priority should be to fix the pitching staff. I'd think about dumping 2 starters maybe 3. Even if you take a little step back next season, it could set you up for a long time.

Sox vs. A's 9/16 | 3:05, FOX
The reason the Sox aren't going to win today is because Pods doesn't have a hit.
-
Sox vs. A's 9/16 | 3:05, FOX
We know what Thome has done for the Sox. We have no idea how Frank would have fared had he stayed with the Sox. None. Every circumstance would have been different. He may have 50 homers, he may have fouled a ball off his foot in April and been done.

I still don't understand why the Sox didn't claim Stairs. I'm no fan of his, and I think he isn't that great, but if he helps Detroit win 1 game, KW dropped the ball. He isn't making that much and you would only of had to pay him for 2 weeks. It would have been worth having him ride pine, and maybe pinch hit once or twice.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:39 PM) Ha, every move Guillen made today has backfired. But you can't call him an idiot when his ideas go 0 for 10. You can only call him a genius when one of his hairbrained ideas work out.

QUOTE(GOD @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) I just wish once someone in the Chicago media would have the balls to rip Ozzie. Every other day we lose a game b/c he doesn't know how to manage. There is one, the problem is he has less credibility than Ozzie.
