  1. I try not to lie to anyone, especially myself. Sometimes you have to believe what you see. I’m still a White Sox fan. I’m just sick of the BS. You’re not. That’s fine.
  2. Hes still alive. He doesn't have to know about Oscar Robertson, but he was the one that brought him up 3 times in an effort to know history. You want to mention it on the telecast, be a professional and get it right.
  3. They had a top 3 farm system the last time with Chris Getz in charge of player development. I hope all you write is true. I hope it all works out, but I’ll believe it when I see it. As much as 2024 was a throwaway year regardless, I don’t think setting a record for losses was part of the plan. The fact still remains, even if most of these guys work out, which they never seem to do, you have to add with highly paid players. I will believe that when I see it as well.
  4. I’m guessing it means another teams free agent.
  5. They need to change some things. I really find it funny some have blind faith in Chris Getz. Usually someone has something on his resume you could look at and conclude he knows what he is doing. But considering his previous roles and the current state of the team, I think it's pretty certain, he is in over his head. I was an at least it's not Hahn anymore guy. And it isn't Getz fault he is the GM. It is no fun being a fan. And I really truly hope I am so wrong and the Getz lovers are so right. I would much rather watch them win than lose. But to me, it's fairly obvious how this is going.
  6. Getz is great. It was everyone else that was clueless.
  7. Of course they should try to sign him, but they are the reason they have no chance. They have to change the narrative. How they do that with JR writing the checks, and Chris Getz picking the talent, I have no idea. Most liked the Crochet trade, but they also liked the Sale trade, the Eaton trade, the Quintana trade, and what happened to those can’t miss stars even after exposure to the great Chris Getz development program? They deserve skepticism with every move they make. The proof is in their record.
  8. They put themselves in this situation. Not any of us. Mark DeRosa was making fun of the White Sox on MLBN the other day. How dare he. He wondered why anyone would want to play here. Consecutive 100 + loss seasons in what was supposed to be the peak of your competitive window, with one being the most losses of all time. Be competent, get treated like you’re competent. It’s not overkill to think the probability is the White Sox will f*** up whatever they are doing.
  9. According to Steve Stone, any team that consistently is bad, the blame is ultimately ownership. Except the White Sox, He was always a good analyst, although a bit too full of himself. I remember at a Soxfest he wouldn’t sign a ball on the sweet spot saying the guy asking for his autograph was trying to make money. I had no idea you get rich selling Steve Sone signed on the sweet spot baseballs. But now he’s just a schilling for JR.
  10. Something is telling me the White Sox aren’t the organization that will teach him the things he needs to work on. Besides, if he’s taking bad routes, I don’t know how that is fixable. Going after balls is mostly instinct. If it isn’t there, it isn’t there.
  11. Yes, he did it on one of the broadcasts. Seems like a nice guy, but he’s as minor league as the roster.
  12. You would have thunk after the first time someone would have corrected him. Maybe these espn+ broadcasts don’t have a normal crew. For a guy the White Sox think is.a star, espn isn’t exactly giving him primo gigs. I still maintain , before the Sox hired him, he couldn’t name 3 players on the team.
  13. By a guy who is just a guy and probably did a google search and saw the Sox were giving him a presentation.
  14. No one is giving up what he is giving up to sign with the worst team of all time. It’s ludicrous to even think there is a 50;000 to 1 shot. But I do agree they should take a shot, but it’s like buying mega ball tickets when the pot is over a billion.
  15. Then why not play for the Cubs? If this was Angelstalk.com, we would be laughing at the thought this guy would even consider the White Sox.
  16. If Tadahito Iguchi as a coach closes the deal for this guy, there are 29 teams besides the White Sox that would hire him, and be willing to pay him more than the White Sox pay their manager. If he is playing for pool money, he needs to maximize outside income,. How is that done with the White Sox who won’t be on national TV. Won’t play any meaningful games except for losing for draft position!. .And how long will the team be like this? You would have to think at least until this guy is in his arb years. He will be out of sight and out of mind until the Sox trade him.Why pitch for a team that doesn’t have the ability to maximize your success?
  17. I just don’t see how Iguchi ‘s experience almost 2 decades ago would have or should have any weight. You get to pick your team. This is rare for someone his age. You can pick a team that wins and eventually pays or, or a team that doesn’t and eventually trades you. Getz has been asked about a timeline, and he doesn’t have one. Why, if the money is around the same initially, except playing in oblivion probably hurts his off the field money, would a guy who could go anywhere, sign with a team that has no idea when or if they will good?
  18. If Chris Getz was offering more money than anyone else, I would buy into his vision too.
  19. And if it has changed because Getz asked him, why didn't he ask before? It amazes me ,for a team so concerned about every dollar, they blow off the cheapest way to be good, develop your own.
  20. Yeah, who knows what you get for him. But if it's not a lot, I don't see the point.
  21. Luis Robert put up a 5.0 WAR in 2023. Last year he was hurt again, and the team beyond dreadful. People act like he's never been good.
  22. It's history repeating itself. Remember when the Sox failure before the failed rebuild was everyone else's fault but Rick Hahn's?
  23. He would have been a great catcher. Probably would have even stayed healthy, and with the foul balls to the groin, probably would have had a few less side pieces.
